I know its a bit of a wait. The Ecoboost engine is a fantastic engine! I was one that laughed when i heard it was only a 1.0, 3 cylinder but the turbo makes all the difference!! Its great!

Hi Guys, Ordered my Focus mk 3 today. Zetec S in Frozen White, with City Pack, privacy glass and new 125ps, 1.0, 3 cylinder turbo engine. Test drove the new engine today and its lots of fun! Due delivery in September so will get pics up when i have it! :-D

Test drove the 1.0, 3 cylinder today. What an engine! Loved it! It feels like it has more power than 125ps! Great turbo. Makes overtaking effortless!

Hey guys, So i went to my local Ford dealership today and had a word with one of my mates who's a salesman and he said Ford have now brought out a 1.0, 3 cylinder engine that produces 125bhp thanks to a turbo! He said the block is no bigger than an A4 sheet of paper and said that you can get 44mpg urban out of it so its more economical. He explained that 1.2, 1.4, 1.6 etc is now being phased out...hence why the new mk 3 does not have the engine size on the back and he said that this new engine is the future of Ford engines. He said it will now depend on what power you want that will decide

I got a brochure for the VW Golf and was really shocked at how nasty and cheap the interiors looked! One spec (forgotten which one now) had a nasty grey and red tartan type cloth in it! It looked like the interior from a car back in the 60's! It was shocking and looked cheap! I sometimes think that cars like the Golf you only pay for the badge. Thats just my opinion though.

Like so many of you guys i HATED the mk3 when i first saw pics of it before its release mainly due to its rear end (i liked the front) and stated that Ford had "ruined" the Focus cos of the dodgy rear end styling and vowed i would NOT be buying one! One test drive is all it took for me to forget about the styling! The mk 3 drives really well and is as smooth as silk! From that moment on i instantly liked it and the more ive seen, the more i like the back end!

I'm sure that given time...European Parts might have something like that on their website for a better price!

When i first saw the new Focus i HATED it with a passion! I thought they'd ruined the rear end and made it look terrible! The car has been growing and growing on me though and i have to say...i am thinking about getting one. I got a brochure from Ford and it is a nice car. I really like the interior! My mate owns a garage and he works with Ford dealerships, designing and producing bodykits etc. I went to see him yesterday and he had a new Focus Titanium in up on a ramp. They were measuring it up for a bodykit which they were designing from scratch. My mate said he picked it up from a Ford

See im the opposite. I think the back is awful and they've completely ruined the Focus. I think the front is nice though. Im going to have to see one in the flesh before i make a decision on getting one or not.

Does anyone know the official release date for the new Focus yet?

Chris thanks for that mate. No mine is petrol. 1.6. I understand now, but what i still dont understand is why you won't get the throaty noise from the straight swap K&N? It's still a performance filter with higher filtration which is no different to an induction kit so surely you'd still get the sound? Not sure what to do! Haha!

Ah right i see. That must be why i didnt notice it much on my last 1.8 Focus i had. I definitely notice it on my 1.6 that i have now! Cheers Russ!

Guys, Has anyone else noticed a lack of performance when the air con is on in their mk 2.5's? I've noticed a decrease in power resulting in slower acceleration. Also, the car feels so much heavier with the air con off! Anyone else noticed this or have i got a fault on mine? Cheers.

Ok what i dont understand...is why on the RS the filter just comes out? Whats the issue with the "hub cap" thing in that pic? Why do you need that bit? Surely there's enough cold air getting through to the filter via the standard feeds? Anything else and you'll be letting warm air in?? Also...why wont the filter make a sports sound if it's in the airbox?? This is unlike anything i've heard of before? I thought it was the filter that made the noise because it provides better filtration...and the airbox had nothing to do with it?? I'm confused guys!! :? :? :? Oh and by the way...on my a

Cheers for that Chris. So you cant just take the cone filter out and put another one in?? Hmmm. You can in the RS. I know it's an RS but i would've thought the basic platform would've been the same. Because it's an enclosed box and you already have the cold air feed from the pipe attached to the front grill...you shouldn't have to worry too much about cold air getting to it. Also, i don't think heatsoak will be a problem either.

Alright guys, Has anyone fitted an induction kit to their mark 2.5? Can anyone tell me how to get the airbox off? It looks like it comes off in one big block but surely the top of it comes off somehow so you can get access to the filter? Thanks Craig.

Daz...the only way i know of getting a more accurate reading if that's what you're after is to top up with a full tank of fuel and then reset the trip. A Ford salesman said that was the best way of doing it.

Thats very true Jamz. I think aswell, alot of the reviews i've read have been the Eagle NCT 5's on high powered vehicles like BMW's etc so obviously...they won't be as good on a vehicle with such power!

They seem to be good on my mark 2.5 and i can drive quite agressively at times. I think on a 1.6...they're really good! :D

Does anyone else have Goodyear Eagle NCT 5's on their Focus? What do you think of these tyres? I've read mixed reviews for them but i've got them as standard on my Titanium and i think they're really good! They grip well in the wet and dry and handle well.
