  4. cant wait mate to see how it goes was gonna do it my self thats how i knew that bmc was there cheap  but got a bigger drive to work now so gotta keep the mpg as good as possible
  5. my mums is a 56 its done under 4k
  6. id go with whats on the car mate just done mines to the car sticker psi rating today :D
  7. the grey ones were £750  silly money for seats
  8. i dunno mate every car ive had with one box cat back systems you can still deffinatly hear a induction kit . fitted a stainless pipe a cheap induction cone to my accord coupe (non vetec) and the engine littereally roared . my sis fitted a k&n typhoon to her ctr and the roar from that was louder than the cat back    but on both cases the stock rubber intake pipes were replaced with thin wall stainless pipes which i think helps echo the induction roar . thats why i recomended that set up for the 1.4 1.6 non vti as they have a longish intake pipe to replace . id imagine the
  9. on the bmc box it shows power curves. one for a diesel golf and one for a petrol cooper s golf: bhp @ flywheel 112.2 improved to 120.3 bhp @ wheel 89 improved to 95.2 cooper: bhp @ flywheel 165.9 improved to 172 bhp @ wheel 136.6 improved to 140 of course these will vary with car make & type also the size of engine that american guy was saying by fitting a breather fillter he got a bhp increase which is bull  not the bmc which will give you a slight bhp increase and more noise
  10. well no mate your car needs to relieve the pressure the engines is designed to work that way it all ready does it in to the air box , but if your removing the air box the pipe still needs to be filltered to stop crap going in to it and if your taking the air box out you will need a filter on the pipe its self
  11. by fitting a breather filter you wont get any bhp increase or any noise what so ever
  12. well yeah any mod can be reversed if you dont damage the origional equipment and the mounting process is kept the same . if all it is is a small bore pipe coming directly up from the bottom of the engine some where with no branches off it and ends up in the air filter box then id disconect it from the air box and stick a breather filter on it is what i would do jobs a good in ( but id make sure every thing was removed correctly and not broken so could be swapped back if needed ) as far as im aware if its a breather pipe as jamz recons all that does is releave pressure im sure some one w
  13. what mod the nasty ectotek or breather ? if its breather you would have no need realisticly on a mk2 unless your removing the air box and going to end up with a un filtered breather pipe
  14. your thinking about some thing different mate that ectotek valve doesnt go on a breather it goes on the fuel line in the engine bay ( doesnt do any thing on a newer car ) a breather filter is what you have posted the pic up off thats all you would need  and cant see a breather filter giving you any bhp as its doing the exact same job on the breather pipe as before except its not plumbed in to the air box any more
  15. yeah doesnt look like theres much room in the pic of your engine bay mate
  16. turns out the 1.4 and 1.6 (not the vtiti thing just the normal one) are the same . my paint skills are lacking but should be able to see what i mean  remove intake pipe and the whole air box then    stainless pipe might need a slight bend in it but thats where getting your pipe from a stainless exhaust maker comes in as the pipe should only be a few quid and they will have a pipe bender to make the slight curve to it . just need to take your intake pipe off an messure the diameter and then messure the diameter the new stainless section is and order up a rubbe
  17. http://www.european-parts.net/catalog/i ... Path=58_65
  18. as in the set up of the 90 elbow and stainless intake pipe to replace what the mk2 smaller engine size has
  19. dunno what engine that is in the pic but the 1.4 engine has a long intake pipe that runs along the front of the engine which can be trimmed and there will be loads of room for a bmc . personaly if the 1.6 is the same id use a sillicon 90 bend from the throttle body and a length of thin wall stainless pipe (visit a stainless exhaust manufacturer as you will need only a small piece ) to replace the plastic intake pipe then attach the bmc to it  will give a nice induction note  same idea as that but on the 1.4 dont know about the 1.6 that pipe runs between the engine a
