  1. Yeah, thats right Martin. Fortunately I know someone who works in the parts dept. of our local Ford dealer who managed to get me a set for £28! I would be a little pi**ed off at paying over £50 for a set of wiper blades.
  2. Sounds like an intermittant fault on the brake light switch, firstly it would put up a brake light fault and secondly the engine management takes a signal from the brake light switch, hence your engine management fault. Quite a common fault on the Mercs that i work on, i should see how it goes, if it happens again get it booked in!
  3. The one year limit comes from me! I recently had my firmware upgraded with reference to the TSB, i was charged £54 for the work (1 hour i presume?) I was told by the dealer it was only covered under the first year warranty and therefore was chargeable. Please let me know supersinky if the work is done under warranty or not as i might need to be contacting my dealer to get my money back. I am thinking of asking another local dealer just to see what they say about it as well.
  4. Yeah, I have used Blackcircles as well and have found them to very good, the local fitting agent in Coventry is also very reliable and helpfull.
  5. Nicely kitted out C Max ATC, hope all goes well for you. I love mine, it is such fun to drive and is very impressive!
  6. dont think there is a decent dealer in the west midlands see max cry! If you find one let me know?
  7. Phoned Ford customer relations centre today who werent interested at all, they said warranty matters are an issue for the dealer and if they have said its not covered by warranty then its most probably not! If I have a problem with it go back to the dealer, they know more about vehicle warranties than us ( the customer relations centre ) ??? Thanks for all your help on this one guys, its greatly appreciated. When i booked the car in to be worked on i didnt ask for the latest sw to be fitted, i said that i had high fuel consumption and erratic throttle control in traffic, the girl on recepti
  8. whos the best people to speak to? whats the number of ford customer services?? anyone got any ideas to get my money back?? HELP!!
  9. Car went into dealers today for ecu update, got a phone call at lunch time, they can do the update but it will cost £53!! This is because my car is over 1 year old and TSB's are only covered under the first year of warranty?? Also had a problem with the rear seat not locking in its rear postion when the centre seat is removed, they said they couldnt find a fault and it came back exactly as it went. I went absolutely ballistic and took it back tot he dealer to show them the problem, they couldnt beleive the seat fault hadnt been picked up and promised to order me a new seat tomorrow. Had to pa
  10. My C Max 2.0 TDci is booked into the dealer on Tuesday to have the latest instrument and engine ECU updates carried out. Hopefully this will improve the fuel consumption, currently getting about 36mpg as an average while the mrs is driving it during the week around town and about 40mpg at the weekend if we go on a run somewhere up the motorway. :( I hope they can improve on those figures with the new software? Although it doesnt really matter as we have learnt to live with the fuel consumtion as it is now as we have had the car about 6 months now. We both love driving the car and think it is
  11. LappinKulta - I had the same problem with the brakes on my 2.0 Tdci, the dealer fitted new front brake discs and pads for me under warranty and all is ok now. The brakes discs had warped i think, but i dont know why it only does it sometimes?
  12. Chargerate We roadtested a c max zetec last week and took along our Britax first class baby seat so that we could try it in the back of the car. It fitted ok but as you say it is quite high up and we found that the seat had to be pushed quite a long way forward. Not a problem for my wife because she is not very tall, but i need the seat to be quite a long way back. We didnt try it in the 2 rear seat position but suspect that this will help. Greasemonkey
