Actually, you saying that, if the car is shining in the sunlight and I look at the body work in certain areas, there does seem to be like shades of circles ( or swirls) ... is that the damage from the sponge then? - I also use a good quality leather.. Thanks! B

Thanks for the all the tips guys! Have touched up with a a few layers of Ford touch up so far, will apply some more tomorrow and see how it is then. I have always used a sponge :P Infact, the main reason why I was in halfords was to look for a brush, but instead walked out with a large sponge :) Thanks again guys! B

I came out of Halfrauds today after purchasing a new sponge and car wax, I returned home to find this!! Went to my local Ford dealer who said as its sooo deep it will have to be a re-spray which will cost £400 + Labour + VAT !!!! :o :o He said, the other thing to do is buy the touch up pen, which i did.. have applied it but now I think it just looks a bloody mess.. I need to have a look tomorrow in the day light. What would you do in my situation? Cheers, B :(

Yeah, only problem is that one wheel is scuffed around the edge (but i can get that refurbished) - Also he stated 3mil & 6mil - infact they are 6mil & 7mil! .. soooo not a bad bargain! £600 is a bargain for those wheels + tyres!! I had a bargain on ebay y'day, I won a set of 4 7 Spoked Ford Alloys with Continental Sport Tyres for £400 ! - Picked them up today, fitted them and they look stunning!

I got mine from Halfrauds n cost under 5a.. I even got the guy to get it out for me.. He just used one set (2 keys). jiggled one side, then the other... took 5mins max! .. Then i put them back in the box and he re-funded them for me :D B

Hey Pete, I also have a 1.6 tdci.. I notice that same thing when going into 1st gear!!.. sometimes when im sitting in traffic ill be in and out of 1st gear (knocking it into neutral while idle).. but sometimes when i put it into first it seems to GRIND n take a bit of pushing to get in! If im slowing down towards traffic and your in 3rd slowing down to 2nd and find its time for that 1st gear crawl.. it doesn't usually go into 1st gear until i completely stop the car from moving... orr i just keep it in 2nd and give it a bit more welly!
