We have a 58 plate 2.0 petrol Focus and the temp gauge behaves in a very strange way!! Even at this time of the year with cooler outside temperatures the gauge reaches it's normal position ( 90 Deg ) within 1/2 a mile yet there is no heat within the car!. My suspiicion is that the sensor is faulty, so does anyone know the part number and also where it is located on the engine?? Thanks.

What was the verdict on this retro fit of the washer sensor as my 58 plate Titanium is also without? Bl**dy annoying as my old 05 Titanium had this very useful feature :x

Thanks for the reply. I will check the front and rear ABS sensors for any dirt/grease etc and the needle on the speedo.

Guy's I know there is an issue on the Mk 1 focus regarding the VSS, as i had to replace one on our old 2.0l ghia. :roll: My question is however related to a 2.0 petrol Titanium 2005 Mk2 focus with very similar behaviour. Recently i gave the car a few 'spuds' in 3rd to get past some slow traffic and noticed that the speedo was reading incorrectly and only moving in short sharp increments which culminated in it over reading by approx 15/20mph. During the rest of the journey the issue slowly got better but the needle is still somwhat 'juddery' :? So my question after looking at the gearbo

We have a 2005/05 titanium and it has the socket in the front top left corner of the glovebox, which i think was there from new, however i have heard that this can be easily added as a retrofit.

Try spraying the rar of the tabs in WD40 first. This eased things considerably on mine. :idea:

When i turn on the side lights or dipped lights without the key in the ignition the dash/speedo illumination doesn't come on yet the heater/radio/hazard switch illumination does!! Is this normal ,and can it be altered so that it does? Once the key is turned to position II then they all come on as expected. Car is a 2005 (5/05) 2.0 Petrol 5 Dr Titanium. Any ideas??

Low screen wash fluid light came on today, so at least we know that works.
