sounds to me like the clutch release cylinder has gone.....I my very limited focus knowledge, the clutch release is a hydraulic cylinder mounted in the bell housing, rather than a normal cable operated affair...............I wouldnt have thought it would be connected to the braking system though, unless they share a warning light, and hence your fluid light is on.........sory cant be any more help. DEFINATE WARRANTY CLAIM in my opinion

can i ask how much it cost you.........My cars COLARADO RED, so it would be ideal if i could find a red one in some breakers yard etc etc, rather than getting one repainted,

Will an ST focus spoiler replace the standard spoiler on a normal focus, without any extra fixings :roll: ie a straight swap

Noticed you have a 2 Litre, and im presuming you have DISCS at the rear, I have DRUMS, so maybe youre not affected by the recall..............just an assumption of course :roll:

just to clarify this mate, you have the 1800 duratec HE. on 17" ford wheels. and your car is doing 3000 rpm @ 70 mph (indicated on speedo).

Got a letter from FORDS yesterday stating that my car was one of a batch identified as having to be recalled 7C160 - FOCUS - REAR WHEEL HUB RETAINING HARDWARE - SAFETY RECALL basically it states a batch of hub retaining bolts has been found, that may not meet the required spec, and may become loose. So the ford dealer should replace them ASAP.....

Cant speak nationally but locally to me ARNOLD SHARK are terrible for both sales and afterervice, same as our local FORD dealer, thats really a general evans halshaw used dealership...............with awful sales and afterservice. Id push for a free service at the very LEAST, and obviousley a refund for the scuff repair..............GOOD LUCK,

Had our focus serviced today, told them that i think the discs maybe warped.........picked the car up and they'd replaced discs and pads under warranty, I was expecting to have to argue about paying for them. i was amazed. and on top of that they did a diagnostic and software update too and they going to replace the CD player TOO.......So the 12k service cost me a Tenner, for the body and paint check.................as we got 3 years free servicing, when we bought it, due to the car being delayed. :o :o :o

My focus has a rattle when lifting the clutch pedal.....That i thought was somthing to do with the clutch, only noticable in 1st and 2nd though, its going in tomorrow to fords , see what they say :roll:

IT was KWIK FIT and I knew it was dear, but i needed a tyre ASAP, as it was EASTER WEEKEND etc etc, and i didnt want to drive anywhere on the spacesaver.............Dont worry i will be shopping around whe the time comes to replace the fronts. Thanks for the Info chaps!!

Just had to buy a new Tyre for my 07 SPORT PACK wheels, and it cost me £155 (for one)...........Conti sport contact 3 tyres. Suppose its the down side of having the big wheels and low profiles :(

Dead easy to sort mate. you just need the lead from FORDS and plug it into the back of the UNIT and then drill a 20mm hole in the glove box liner for the other end of the lead, ........Piece of cake........cant quite find a link to the lead you need, but just do a search on here

Mine can play storebought discs straight away, but then just keep spiiting out CDr's.............. another funny thing is that occasionaly after a few rejections of the CDr disc, if you play a storebought disc for a coupleof seconds. then try a CDr it works........... :shock: i have tried a few brands, and different cd burners, but they all have the same effect, and i just know FORDS will try and wangle out of it fixing or replacing it................ :evil:

My CD6000 unit doesnt like playing CDR discs, yet the same disc plays on all other cd players i have access to, Does anyone else have the same problem. Its booked into FORD for service after easter and i want to backup the problem with a few details.........I have also siad to them that id like them to try the same disc on other cars on their site, so hopefully it will prove the problem.

I think the focus has another brake problem, apart from the a warped disc or drum, on first application they are spongy, then if you lift your foot and the press down again theyre really solid, almost like when you have the handbrake on a notch, while driving.....if you get my meaning. Does anyone elses focus do this, For a while now the brakes have felt not as they should be, but im hoping FORDS will sort it when it goes in, :?

Apart from these snags its a good car, and as you say there will always be the odd thing. And im pretty sure the dealer will sort it.............

Yes its a 1.8 d/tec HE petrol..........Whare do i start............Horrible deep thud that comes form the front of the car when idling just after startup (its not the A/C compressor kicking in), then theres the worrying metallic rattle when releasing the clutch pedal in first and second, next is the the fact one of the brake discs/drums has warped and gives a really dodgy braking experience especially at motorway speeds.......i say its a warped disc/drum as you can feel the rocking motion as you pull up. but overall the brakes are not as positive as i feel they should be.
