Im not sure if its the only way but the dealer definitely warned me on mine that if i use the non remote then i need to put the key in the ignition so it probably is the only way

Im getting about 36mpg on my 1.6 115 which still seems to be going up thats mainly with motorway driving and it has about 6,300 miles on now

Im certainly no expert so this could be complete rubbish but would the distance to empty issue be to do with the temperature of the car, IE overnight it cools back down and the petrol settles in the tank level again ?? What MPG are you getting at the moment?

Ive not got a crease but then ive always just dropped the bonnets closed on my cars

Mastertech if i was taking it i would take it with the old one and just give them the new one 2 put in for me

Im just asking really cos ill be annoyed if i buy the keys 2 remove it etc and then it doesnt work and i have 2 take it 2 the dealer - ill have a word with the guy there as he was telling me how he was messing around changing the stereos trying 2 get one for his mondeo so he might do it for me anyway - am also hopefully going 2 be working right next door 2 them soon anyway so should be able 2 get it done cheaply - they are ina good mood with us at the moment as we just bought 2 cars from them LOL

Mastertech thanks for the info - any idea how much it costs to get the programmed and fitted at a ford dealer? although obviously will vary from dealer to dealer

Ive heard some people on here say they needed to take it to ford and others say they just put it straight in? I bought it on ebay it still has the plastic seal across the front - i believe they said they were removed from new cars because other units were fitted instead If i need to take it to a dealer its not a problem really as Allen Ford owe me a favour or two at the moment lol - how much is it likely to cost if they have to do stuff other than just take it out?

Ok so i dont really know the first thing about cars lol Ive just got my sony mp3 player for the focus - what do i do to fit it - what do i need to get the old one out? and do i need to D/C the battery?

The ford website mentions it as an extra on the Ghia and mine definitely has it - i assume you need electric front and rear windows which the climate doesnt have does it? It was on my old ghia too

Id be * * * * off too mate - i picked my car up from the ford dealer at night and in the morning i noticed a scratch i wasnt happy lol - i chilled out tho cos its only the bumper which wont rust and they gave me a free touch up kit for it but id go mad if someone did that to my car - OH's has a few scratches from the local car park on it

I just looked on parkers at say a zetec TiVCT which is insurance group 6 and then a 2.0l zetec which is group 9 so depends on the model i guess and how old / high your insurance is now

No i dont have a 2l tdci i have the 1.6 Ti-VCT compared to my old regular 1.6 so i guess the 2l diesel could be noisier ;-) i love my new focus especially the cruise control if you see my other thread lol and the Ti-VCT engine is nice too lol

Have you bought it yet? LOL i cant say ive found road noise a problem its much quieter than my mk1.5 was

yep i have the TiVCT but ive only done 6000 in it after this trip so i spose the fuel consumption could just be getting better as the engine gets more run in On the way back from scotland there was surprisingly little traffic so it really was just on most of the way without too much fiddling

Really? my MPG went up while we were away and we used it most of the way there and back
