  1. You can set them on auto, then with a little dial you can adjust the sensitivity to suit. Or you can just set them to do the usual normal/fast sweep if you prefer the old fashioned way. The blades are those new fangled floppy one's you get on a C-max/galaxy and work really well. The auto wiper's themselves have been standard on higher spec mondeo's since late 2003 and I don't know of anyone who's had any issues with them as yet.
  2. Titanium-X was originally a limited run of 500 mondeo's, but is now going to form part of the standard range, in addition to a plain 'ol Titanium. Titanium features are pretty much as a Ghia but with a new design of 17" wheels, Unique "Titanium" effect centre console, Privacy glass, Exterior Styling a' la ST220. Engine/gearbox: 2.0 petrol (145) - 5 manual/auto 2.0 TDCi (115/130) - 5/6 manual 2.2 TDCi (155) - 6 manual Titanium-X will add standard Bluetooth/Voice Control, Unique 18" wheels, unique alcantara/leather trim. Engine/gearbox 2.0 (145) petrol - 5 manual 2.5 V6 (170) - auto 3.0
  3. Titanium and Titanium X are now permanent models within the mondeo range, so I'd say that was not only possible but likely. It's towards the end of this year they'll be looking to launch a special edition focus anyway.
  4. Yeah, that is sublime. I havn't seen it in the metal but I know a few people who have and they say it looks really good. I'd agree it doesn't look too smart in those pics though.
  5. At Gates Hertford we now have a 1.6Tdci Ghia Saloon, Panther Black, 17" wheels and Adaptive lights on display in the showroom. Would post pics but don't have a camera. So if your local and/or passing pop in, have a look and say hello!
  6. hmmm, interesting one that and I can't be totally sure as I don't have one here I can try out at the moment. However, I see no reason why the engine should suddenly cut out. Imagine your 3 year old grabs the key and chucks it out the window while your doing 70+ on the motorway. Certainly don't want a total loss of power in that situation. I'll update further when I get a chance to test it out.
  7. Just thought I should mention that Zetec's built from May/June onwards will also get a "flick" key.
  8. Great news from my point of view that the new ST would be available as a 5 door. A big selling point of the outgoing model was that it was one of the few cars of its type you could have with 5 doors. Obviously the 3 door looks better and is for the "purist" but hey - some people have families still wanna go fast and appreciate the extra practicality.
  9. We're currently waiting for petrol auto's but as someone else said its nothing like as bad as the wait for diesel auto's. I've had a customer order a petrol auto at the beginning of feb and it looks like it will be ready by the end of this month. I havn't driven a new auto focus yet but I hear plenty of good things - much the same has already been said.
  10. Once the key is out of range, you can't start the car. I think your spot on buying the options coz it's something you will enjoy rather than adding value to your car - and there's no reason why it should add to your waiting time if it was going to be a factory order anyway. All customers are different really. Some want every gadget going, some just want poverty spec 1.4's! From my own point of view so far, I've sold more zetec climate 1.6Tivct's than anything but as I say thats just me.
  11. Oh well, come and chat to me next time - sure I can do you a better deal! Sorry to everyone for wandering so wildly off topic!
  12. P6UL K Do you mean Rob Haigh? I know of him, rather than know him. Why? He a mate of yours?
  13. of course, if everybody prefers, we could go back to grey/black bumpers?!
  14. To lock the car, you just get out and touch a little pad on the exterior door handle. The car will automatically unlock itself as you approach it. It will unlock all doors and the boot though it can be programmed to unlock only the drivers door if you wish. To start the engine you just twist a kind of switch located where you would usually insert the key to start the ingnition. As a failsafe to stop the child from starting the car, you have to depress the brake at the same time, and there is also a back-up manual key in case the battery runs flat. Amazed that you ordered it without real
  15. Some peeps were saying they didn't like "Tonic". Surely that car must be making some have a re-think?!
  16. yeah, there's no voice control option as such. It's incorporated as part of the bluetooth option.
  17. Been covered already mate. Soz I don't know how to link to the thread but it was created by wdb81 and is titled "Bluetooth Kit" and is currently on page 2 of this forum.
  18. Seems there is a growing number of converts..... :D
  19. 1)New registrations are September, not October. 2)Ford believe strongly in the looks of the new Focus, have spent a fortune designing it, and it's selling VERY well. So the chances of them changing the looks 9 Months after launch and also * * * * off alot of people who have already bought it are absolutely nil. 3)The old RS is a fantastic car to look at and to drive. If anyone doesn't find it inspiring they are absolutely crackers.
  20. This may suprise some people but the most popular cars in the ford range that people buy "retail" (i.e not fleet or privilege orders) are quite easily fiesta and ka. Depends on what offers are available at the time. That said, the new focus has had a cracking start at my dealership. It was a highly unusual time of year to launch a new (and hugely important) model and the gamble seems to be paying off. It generated a lot of showroom traffic at a usually quiet time of year and everybody that has test driven the car with me have had nothing but praise for it. With some amazing deals to be
  21. Test drive points should be added by the dealer at the same time as the test drive. Points for registration are added by ford/nectar themselves and can take up to 3 months.
  22. My sales to date: 1 x LX 2 x Zetec 3 x Zetec Climate 2 x Titanium
  23. It sounds quite likely that you activated the global opening/closing feature. If you hold the lock/unlock button down on your remote it will close/open all your windows automatically. I'm betting you've got a Ghia as the car has to have electric windows all round for this to happen. To double lock your car, you should press the button twice - NOT hold it down.
  24. Most popular in the UK is definitely Silver. Prob because no cars look really bad in it, and it's easy to keep looking clean, doesn't show scratches, chips etc.
  25. Whoah! Steady on point 1 there! The steering setting adjustment is NOT standard on Titanium. It's a feature for cars with EHPAS (Electro Hydraulic Power Assisted Steering). Thats fitted to TDCi engined cars and 2.0 petrols, and is for cars with trip computer (i.e Zetec upwards). You operate it by going to the settings menu (using the left control stalk), then there's an option for steering settings. You can then choose between "comfort", "normal" and "sport" settings.
