  1. I've had many new Foci on hire cars and all have had the full sized spare wheel in the boot. I think the hire companys go for the full size option as standard so anyone who hires one of their cars doesn't have to worry about getting to a Kwik Fit to sort things out. 8)
  2. Had mine in for its first service today and they changed the pollen filter. Car was registered April 2005.
  3. Here's a pic of where I put my sticker on the MKII, in the rear window. Looks quite good up there and glows up red in the dark when brakes applied.
  4. I've only got 6,900 miles on the clock and tyres on my 1.6 Ti-VCT are OK. No hint of any major wearing down on any tyres (205/55 R16) 8)
  5. I own a MKII Ghia and have driven the LX and Zetec models. IMO the Ghia has a much better interior full stop. I found the LX and Zetec to 'feel' plasticy for some reason, but the Ghia seems to be more sturdy, solid and a fuller interior. Probably down to the velour seats, carpets, better steering wheel, slightly darker interior. I don't know what it is but the overall feel of the interior is much better than other models. Anyone else agree :?:
  6. My 6000CD seemed to lose minutes over a short period of time when I first picked the car up, but over the next few months it seemed to behave itself and haven't noticed any time-loss since. Very strange as I haven't had any updates applied and hasn't been back to the dealer for any work (apart from sorting out a broken central locking problem after 2 days) :? The RDS time setting doesn't work on mine. Do I need the update to sort this out :?:
  7. Had a call yesterday from my Ford dealer saying Privilege APR was 5.9% for Focus at the moment, but seems to be the same for Retail too! I know people who have actually got a better deal retail than my Privilege discount - gutted or what??
  8. Haven't seen one around yet. Keep us all posted if you do. :)
  9. I have the 1.6 Ti-VCT and I don't find it too bad. End of the day a 1.6 isn't going to be a rocket in anyones book. I did have a normal 1.6 Focus last month as a hire car from work and found that one to be very lousy compared to the T-VCT. When I got home and drove my own car the difference was very noticeable. I must say taht I am disappointed with the Ti-VCT as I had previously owned a 1.8 petrol 53 plate Focus but couldn't afford the 2.0 in the new Foucs so had no choice but to go for the T-VCT (no 1.8 in Feb 2005).
  10. Halfords do Ford colour touch up sets too. I found them to be cheaper than Ford :D
  11. When I took my Ti-VCT in for it's courteousy check after the first month, earlier this year, the guy at the garage told me that these engines may use up a bit of oil and should keep an eye on it every now and then. I was a little shocked to hear this as all my previous Foci, or any other Ford I have owned, have never suffered this before. Saying that I've now got 6k on the clock and the oil is still OK. My fuel consumption is steady at around 26-32 mpg.
  12. When my Dad had one of the 75th Anniversary Escorts the dealer forgot to put the badges on the car but left them in the bag as delivered from the factory. Inside the bag was a cardboard template to offer-up to the body work to ensure they were put in the correct place and straight. This was on an X plate Escort so not that many years ago so unless Ford have stopped doing this the dealers are either not bothering with the templates or they're all on brandy before Xmas :D
  13. Just checked mine (Ghia) and the badges are in the same place as in focusghi44's picture above. They may not fit at the factory as the cars get delivered to dealers with a waxy coating to protect them and it needs cleaning off during the PDI. Maybe the badges get in the way and it's better to be put on after it's been properly cleaned. Only a guess but if anyone else knows different please let us know.
  14. On point 1 - Yes you should have the AUX jack point just at the top-left of the glove box compartment unless they have put it somewhere else now. I can't answer any of your other points though. Sorry
