Swopping speedo from Mk2.5 into Mk2
denniswise9 replied to benweston's topic in MK2 - Ford Focus 2005 > 2011
Just get some new dials...I have white Plasma dials in my MK2 and they look lush night or day. -
Facias - http://www.nexxia.co.uk/car_stereo_fitt ... /focus.htm
-
If you push it in and switch it left 1 notch from OFF it will enable parking lights - it turns on the rear brake lights when the engine is off I think.
-
I think you can get a bluefin chip anyway for the 100bhp to take it to 109bhp but the gains are only at the high end...
-
Got this on my mark 2. Will be getting rid of it soon: Where can I get that?? Looks awesome.
-
Bought it 6 months old so cant be 100% but mine defintely boosts at 3000rpm its the right rev number to use if im trying to get speed  Either way the only engine I wouldn't be sure about is a 1.4, sounds like it would be underpowered although I may be wrong as never driven one.
-
Mines a Nov 2007 MK2 Zetec climate...got tints booked in as well...getting 5% on the back 2 windows limo style 8) Also got the 17" alloys and sport pack with sport suspension. I think its the 100bhp engine in mine...how can you tell??
-
Maybe its ok all the time on the MK2.5?? :?
-
I have no problems with the 1.6 and no complaints it keeps up fine with my friends 1.8 Civic. So far only got the K&N filter, altohugh having a cat back exhaust system fitted this weekend.
-
Normally stays on for about 5-10 mins after locking (no idea why Ford set it up like this?!) and then comes on immediately if you unlock your car, shouldn't be on if it is locked for a few hours though like Phoebian said!
-
thanks I'll have a look next time I go past

I have a couple of dents no larger than my thumb nail on one of my doors - is it best to get them professionally removed or just use a suction pad off the internet? They are only small and the paint looks undamaged so it seems hard to justify the expense of professional removal...
-
anyone know where to get some? I bought a load off ebay but they are too big to slot in to the ford fuse compartment under the glovebox... have blown the cigarette lighter/power outlet fuse twice and running out of fuses to remove from other things that are not being used!
-
With the new ones you just unclip the front panel and unscrew the stereo...easy!
-
true...thats just excuse for splashing out £40 when nothing happened :D looking at getting this instead though - http://www.europerformance.co.uk/pages/ ... t=12565704 not sure if that is my style focus though...its so confusing how some shops call a 1.5 a mk2 etc.
-
And mine was a November 07 model - this was when they changed to cylindrical filters. Pete is correct.
-
My Focus 1.6 has the cylinder type filter not panel...replaced with K & N - no difference in speed or performance but obviously will work out cheaper over time.
-
My 1.6 petrol Zetec needs a small oil top up, would this be the right stuff? http://www.castrol.com/castrol/productd ... Id=7027374 Thanks.

Never seen that website before - looks good.

Would that have been for the American Ford Focus though? http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/c ... oupe_2.jpg

I'm pretty sure my solering wont hold - I dread to have to go back and start playing around with it again though if they start flickering off as its a bit of a mess... I have ordered a better soldering iron though so I am more prepared next time however. I'll stick some pics up later of the new dials, they look good. -

All wired in - used the same wire Darando did in the post above so all good. Was the fiddliest thing I have ever done, and did nearly set fire to everything with the soldering iron... -
Thanks Ben. Head unit has been upgraded to a Sony one but an aftermarket single DIN one not the Ford one so it has good output. I have a dual Vibe 3200 watt sub fitted in the back so bass isn't an issue, its more a case of trying to boost the mids and highs and get better clarity. Do you know anything about fitting them in a MK2? I haven't seen a guide anywhere and am not sure how to open up the door panels...

Hmmm I'll have a poke around. Might try playing around with the pins that plug in to the light control like Darando did for his submarine lighting (http://www.ffoc.co.uk/modules.php?name= ... c&t=175481 - 3rd post down) Hopefully should work!
