  1. CRT, Spongbob stupants told me the same thing, with his help sealant has been applied around the two seals, and the leaking has stopped! Thanks for the advice.
  2. The problem is as soon as I refit the OEM lamps and do the water hose test, no matter how hard I try it no longer leaks, so you know what Ford is going to say "not our problem".
  3. Does anyone here who have Ultra LED rear lamps fitted to their MK2 let me know if they have a problem with water leaking into the boot? Here's my situation for the right side, water appears to be leaking in from the top hole where the screw is tightened to secure the lamp to the body, it funnels its way to somewhere near above where the boot lamp is, then drips onto the trim where it flows to the side and soak the carpet (where the elastic straps are), similar situation on the left. I'm trying to work out if I just have a dodgy set, or whether there is a design issue, the only difference I
  4. The rules are simple, if your headlamps are not e-marked specifically for use with xenon bulbs, whether they are projector or reflector, then retrofitting xenon/HID conversion kits in them is technically illegal. Full information is available from Dept of Transport. http://www.dft.gov.uk/pgr/roadsafety/drs/hidheadlamps Unfortunately at this time MOT does not specifically check for this, so unless your MOT tester is well informed on this regulation, or the headlamps are particularly poor when working in conjuction with these conversion kits causing improper beams, you are likely to get a pa
  5. Will check with Tezza when I'm up at his place what parts I actually need, and how difficult it is to install them, or if he knows how get him to do it for a few drinks
  6. I'm interested in retrofitting powerfold mirrors too, but hasn't Dave traded his car in for a ST?
  7. I was bored and browsing through the Focus catalogue, and noticed an image with Pioneer speakers with the caption stating it is an accessory. Anybody got further info on these?
  8. You should keep the unit in case if you need to restore your original map, and you can use it as a simple diagnostic machine (OBDII code reader).
  9. I think the original question then should be as folows. Is it a straight forward swap between normal halogen headlamps with adaptive cornering headlamps (which are projectors)?

  11. Would somebody confirm that a Mk2 (57 reg) that came with the standard key can have a flip key made as a second key? Just popped down to my local Allen Ford, and been kindly advised that the master tech thinks it wouldn't work, so wouldn't do it even if I'm willing to pay the extortinate amount they were asking for. And if it does work, anyone have ideas how I can convince them that it is workable?
  12. And are the Ford dealers happy if you bring a key to them for cutting and programming? I'm asking because the dealer of my last car (upscaled Toyota), refused to cut and program a key for me because I didn't purchase it from them (bought on ebay from US for half price), and they can't guarantee that it will work.
  13. Does anyone know what would Ford charge in total for getting a new flip key, cut and programmed?
  14. From what I read previously on the forum, the flasher isn't controlled by a typical relay, instead the function is built into a central system which controls numerous functions.
  15. Anyone spotted these new (to me) scuff plates at Allen Ford? http://www.ford-shop.com/acatalog/Ford_ ... html#a1147 Look pretty cool but at £215, ouch  If anyone has them installed on their cars, would love to see a pic and see how they look in real life. Although designed for the Mk2.5, I assume they install in Mk2 without problems.
  16. For mid-range tyres, I've had good experience with Falken FK452, just about as good as Goodyear Eagles F1s I had, and that says quite a lot. They are directional though so might not be suitable if your rears aren't. www.blackcircles.com is doing them for only £65 fitted.
  17. I've already consulted the owner's manual/handbook, and I can't find in the fuse list one for interior lights, yet there are several for daytime running lamps, left/right side head/tail lamps. I do seem to have a tendency to miss things right in front of me, so please kindly point it out to me if I'm wrong.
  18. I have a 57 reg Focus. Is there a single fuse that regulates the amp for the interior lights? I have reviewed my owner's manual, but found no specific fuse reference to interior lights, although there are many for the external ones. If it's spread across multiple fuses, would someone kindly list which fuses they are and which controls what? Thanks.
  19. The new Fiesta with Zetec or above trims have halogen projector headlamps, might be those you saw instead of Xenon headlamps.
