  1. I'd be interested in finding out more... 2 kids y'see. I agree that a new door trim panel may be required as well as disassembling the door to install the blind. If anyone has any aftermarket suggestions that don't involve a plastic sucker thingy - I'd be happy to read suggestions. I just spent half an hour this weekend taking melted plastic off my Focus Zetec rear window where my wife had attached one of those blind things! The sun had heated the plastic and burnt it onto the inside!!!
  2. Yeah, the iTrip by Griffin is 'almost' as good as a direct line in. Almost meaning very clear and sharp, especially for an FM transmitter!
  3. CD Bramall in Blackburn had all the parts etc that they needed. They could have booked me in the same day I called (Wed 24/8), but instead I went this morning. All done, I can't tell the difference, then again I never looked at it properly before hand. Could someone take before and after pics, as I suspect they have changed the rubber seal that is surrounding the base of the wiper.
  4. Good seats in the 1.8 Petrol (53 reg) Zetec. No problems at all. It MUST be possible to adjust the seating to get more comfortable, or add pads here and there. Could it possibly be the height? hang on, the answer is no because the new Focus is a different height. Headrest? You can get different ones. have you tried the lumber support (on/off) back cushions? There has to be something a specialist seating shop can do. Have you searched the net?
  5. Hang on, I REALLY don't understand what the problem is here. The BEST way to go is get the Galaxy clear side repeaters... they're crystal and don't show the orange bulb behind because they have a silver cover inside. They look the dogs... you cant see the bulb, they are VERY bright and also because of the crystal effect, they look as good if not better than the VW's. The ONLY thing that is on the down side is that you need to place the blunt end of a standard dinner knife (solid metalic one) into the hole where the buld holder goes and stretch it VERY slightly... piece of cake, and one y
  6. I'd get a different seat installed. You say that the 2002 Focus seating was OK? - I'd try having a different seat put in by Ford. Weird that no one has complained about such problems with the C-Max before... You haven't been involved in an accident recently that has made the neck problem worse have you? To be honest Dave, I can understand why the dealer is being a little awkward. I know that it's a hard pill to swallow, but because of the excellent comfort factor in the C-Max and that we've never heard of any previous neck problems, it sounds like it's simply a person problem rather than
  7. 1.8 Zetec (53 plate) I only have a problem in 4th at around 65-70mph. Yes I know I should be in 5th by then! My problem is a 0.5 second blip in acceleration, and it only occasionally happens.
  8. It happened to my C-Max on picking it up from the dealer... Mine was under a year old, but if you ask me, the dealership that you purchased the C-Max from has an obligation to have provided you with a working car - Including the armrest. Get it sorted with the dealer you purchased it from... They simply replaced my armrest that was locked in the upright position... It was apparently a "Common problem", so they should have no problem sorting it for you. Hope this helps.
  9. I think the average user would appreciate pictures of doing this... Perhaps we need a how to section here ??? Can a moderator set this up, and then any posts that are a how to , can be moved to that sub forum? I'd do the how to add clear sides repeaters. We'd (read I'd) also appreciate a FINIS code forum specifically for the C-Max - not just a thread. I could also do a HOWTO on changing the stanbdard head unit for the sony cd mp3 or 6cd changer.... HOWTO add an aux input to the sony. HOWTO add foot lights. Yay...
  10. Free of charge I hope!!!! Then again, it may have activated something that will show itself sometime in the future.
  11. I cant say that it does anything after the beep... But I mentioned that this happened as it must have triggered something within the system... Any ideas?
  12. Is there any way to check the version of the engine management system without hooking it up to the WDS? I don't want to go to Ford with a high fuel consumption problem if it is all in my head. I appear to have the lowest consumption of everyone who has a 1.8 petrol Zetec. I drive journeys or around 3 miles (4 times a day) and at weekends have around 4 trips of 30 miles. Can anyone state that they only get around 30mpg on the computer readout? What this means in reality is that I get around 350 miles per tank. And this is running it ALL the way down to empty (even past the 0 mark).
  13. Just tried to do this in my 53 reg C-Max Zetec 1.8. With the engine running, flashed lights 3 times and then removed the key from the ignotion.... A long beep was heard. So it would appear that there are numberous things we can and cant do... Any more?
  14. My 1.8 Petrol gets 30mpg... it's done 18,000. I know the quotes above are for 2.0 Diesel, but can anyone give me a guide on how bad my fuel consumption is? I guess on Motorway I can get around 40mpg if I drive miss daisy.
  15. CharlieR is that the Accrington parts department .... On the road from Blackburn to Altham (clayton-le-moors)?
  16. Hi folks, As some of you may remember I have just upgraded my ICE to the SONY single cd mp3 head unit. Problem is I didn't get a manual with it and I would dearly like to see what all the features are on the unit. Can anyone direct me to a PDF or other suitable download for this head unit OR provide me with a part number so I can quote it to the parts department. Big thanks to everyone for the continued support through all of my mods. Gav
  17. Hmmm, I doubt that just a part will enable this feature... In fact - I don't think parts are required... It's probably just a software upgrade... Doh! If only the code was open source.... We'd all have fun then eh?
  18. Update ===== While I had my hour lunch, I not only managed to fit and test the unit, but also manage to hook up my external MP3 player to the AUX port without the glovebox wire (which Neil fron greyhound Accrington is still looking into for me). When I originall got my C-Max with standard Ford/Visteon 6000CD ICE, I asked you all for help with the quadlock wiring and someone had sent me a circuit diagram of the pins on the standard head unit. The diagram shown that the White 12 pin block at the bottom right of the Quadlock was used for AUX input (3 pins to be exact), so I botched together a
  19. Top or above might be a closer word to use.
  20. Chris, Thats why I went for the standard Ford/Sony head unit as I didn't want to have to search/wait for adaptors for a 3rd party non specific HU. SWMBO - Sounds kindof cool... Does the company you work for give you a gadget budget? And £150 is a great price for the unit should it work... and I have no reason to believe it wont. The only problem I face is that the unit may display not configured (needs WDS) when turning on. Apart from this... I cant wait!
  21. I was also quoted a part number for a CD changer - However when I ordered this part, I was telephoned and told it was not in production... I think they planned to make the unit and gave it a part number, but the Sony deal must have put a stop to this. Here is a link to the GREAT bloke who sold me the Sony Mp3 unit on Ebay for £150. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... eName=WDVW Any he's legit.... just check out his feedback... I believe he has a 'deal' with a major dealer and thus gets the head units cheap to sell on eBay. AlunS - My unit arrived this morning (next day) and it
  22. The answer is in fact No. And this is a 100% guarenteed FACT correct as of today. I contacted EVERY part of the Ford Motor Company and no CDDJ (CD changer) has been made to fit the 6000CD (Ford/Visteon) model with center volume control. This is the reason why I have HAD to purchase a Sony unit, so that I can then buy the Aux lead from Ford Parts, and then hook up an external hard disk MP3 player. Anyone who want's to argue/discuss this topic, then I hope you have done some serious research as I have had my C-Max 1 year this month and still have not found a solution - except to get the
