  1. thanks for the response fella, sounds like you put a ton of effor tinto the upgrade, have to admit its one of the best options u can have in a car, keeps my kids quiet on every long journey :)
  2. does anyone know if the mounting holes for the roof mounted dvd are found in all cmax's. A friend want the dvdplayer to stick in their 07 Zetec/LX, not sure which. TIA
  3. cheers fella, was a little concerned about the roof but hey who cares ;) Already have the code and the headphones indoors, also have the relevant security bits so will check tomorrow for the cable situation. At the end of the day I dont really care much how I get for it on ebay, just dont want them haVING IT :)
  4. long and boreing tale short.......recently went bankrupt and my CMax is going to be auctioned :( so question is, can I remove the roof mounted DVD easily and cleanly, would rather ebay it than hand it other for no reason, also have the standard single CD player so will most likely remove that but any tips to remove the roof mounted player would be appreciated :) Damn shame they will probably get fek all at auction compared to its resale value, madness as far as Im concered TIA
  5. I had film on my last cmax but on my current I have privacy glass, little difference between the two tbh except u can go darker with film (legaly dubious I believe). As for kids I have the built in rear blinds but they just find something else to complain about, normally the DVD has just finished or I took that last corner a little fast
  6. lol, I had the RAC out for a problem I recently had and even they couldnt get the emergency release to work, granted it wasnt funnt at the time
  7. tbh m8 its a gimmick, I no longer use mine as the shape means the kids look so small in it that it is practically useless
  8. damn work proxy blocks it, still something to grab when I get home ;)
  9. I had the problem recently where my boot just refused to unlock using the switch which meant I had to use the remote. The car went into ford for another prob and to fix this they have replaced the rubber handle at least, not sure if they replaced the electronics inside but all is working fine now
  10. Might have to give that a try, was tempted to ask the dealer last week when it was in but after the wife suggested it was because Im a fat 'bar-steward' I didnt want to tempt fate
  11. weird but my max, same model hasnt had the slightest of probs with condensatiojn inside on the windscreen. Quite the opposite I get in first thing in the mornin and switch on the heated screen while the neighbours scrape the ice of their cars. If it wasnt doing it b4 the dealer got hold of it all I can suggest is u stand ur ground and complain
  12. I gave it some thought, then I came to my senses I did wonder that but then we sat and watched Nemo, Incredibles and Star Wars 3 while the wife sold crap. The car is booked in next to get the bits fixed so Ill raise it then
  13. U guys will like this one!! Its sunday, its bloody cold and wife drags me to a car boot sale Kids are bored so I let them watch a DVD (or three) Car wont start, battery flat DOH, damn I should have run the engine :( Get jumper leads from a m8, bloody bonnet wont open Ford Dealer comes out, bless him, they forgot to reconnect the bonnet mech when they worked on my front parking sensors Ford Direct car so I call out the RAC, sorry m8 we will need to tow u to the dealer Its a Ghia with the EPB, guess wot, the emergency release will not release the parking brake, could it get anyworse, yep, nice
  14. jon, Im local to you (Stevenage) and am on my 3rd cmax, absolutely love em, such a pleasure to drive. I have purchased from bramwells in welwyn b4 and they r ok but the best thing I can say is search on the web, its worth going a little further for a used one with all the features u need. I recently grabbed a 1.6TDCi ghia with a load of extras for 12k from Coalville, leics, 7k milage, 11months old and spotless condition, included parkin sensors, privacy glass, full leather and roof mounted dvd player. I am in the same industry as u and need my car to get me to customer sites and meetings, i
  15. bought the first and made a fatal mistake of trading it in for a mini convertible (long story), missed it so I gave the mini to the wife and bought a 1.8 petrol which I really didnt like so I went back to the 1.6TDCi with alot of extras which I drive currently
  16. shame u have had so many probs, I am on my third cmax, two of them 1.6 TDCi and I think its a top car to drive, never had a problem yet
  17. yeah have the same prob with the one behind me, think it is the daughters annoying habit of flicking it up and down, did see a post about modding it a little to stop the rattling, Ill have a dig around
  18. Im on my 3rd max, two 1.6TDCi and the middle one was a 1.8 petrol, I personally didnt get on with the petrol at all which is why I bought the 3rd, needed to go back to diesel and the 2.0l didnt really seem necesary, I prefer to spend on the internals such as ghia spec and dvd for the kids
  19. I'm with u on the leather fettish, but I was finkin baby oil rahter than leather cleaner....but then my fetish doesnt involve a cmax :D
  20. I take it u have tried pushing it right back before u pull it back down, wondered cos I felt an * * * * after takin my old max into the dealers for the same prob, he promptly pushed it fully upright then all the way down
  21. fraid that wont help, I also have tints and blinds but my son is always complaining so Im gonna fit his gamecube in the car which is easy since it has no internal power and the car adapter is only a tenner, then i feed the av into the rrof mounted DVD player, job done ;)
  22. Keep in mind u need easy access to the back for the UMD discs.. There are two small mount points on the bottom of the PSP. Also while the screen is oustanding it will suffer hugely in the day compared to other TFT's, sometimes it is impossible to see the screen
