  1. Short clip of Evo 6 (road going!!) with anti-lag, in garage   Gives an idea of the noise and flames to be expected whilst on full boil! http://www.adrmotorsport.com/Video/MOV01323.MPG
  2. i think there's more of a difference between dump valves and anti-lag than that guys!! no that technically minded, but doesn't anti-lag actually inject petrol into the turbo, plus there's something else to keep the boost up? i really don't think they are that similar (DVs & A/L). i know that ADR Motorsport in Chesterfield are developing a quiet road-legal A/L for Mitsubishi Evos. They have already fitted a full noisy A/L to an Evo VII, and it's wicked!! Still, i love the "whoosh" on a DV - but it can be a bit of a bore after a while
  3. OOOh! Can we get some vid clips as soon as someone fits one to hear the noise please? Use a vid phone, that'll do. Haven't heard a DV for years, and i love em!!
  4. ESP will apply a brake to any indicidual wheel or a combination ofwheels, plus can vary the amount of traction to the driven wheels if it senses things are losing grip. There are a number of sensors in the brakes, suspension and steering, coupled toa computer monitoring the speed with all of the other inputs, and brakes a little here and there if things start going "light".
  5. If you're a good driver you can correct a potentil problem much better than ESP ever could. Just drive normally with it. It's basically an advanced traction control. If you're driving fully on the boil you'll want to turn it off as it detracts from the true driving experience. Don't be fooled into thinking you can be invincible if the car has ESP - i made that mistake once and nearly had a big off. It's most handy when it's * * * *ing down is what i've found. Like isaid, drive as you normally would, if thongs get a little twitchy, ESP will make it less so, if you need a handfull ofoppositeloc
  6. I'm sorry for the link, now been edited to include the quote. People will need to be real enthusiasts to want to pay top dollar for some of these RSs
  7. can't really imagine the RS being a collector's car. many models plagued with problems and let's face it, the technology is not exactly cutting edge. Check the link here about RS prices  EDIT: QUOTE "Over the last month the min price of a Focus Rs has dropped from £15500 to about 13k, loads on autotrader in the 13's now and thats not just the high milers, theres a few minters on there for £13995."
  8. I have a Fiesta on priv as my bro' works for Ford. He knows of a guy that has received a warning for selling a car before 9 months old and was lucky not to be thrown off the privilege scheme. It really isn't for abusing(!).
  9. I'm sure that the spec of components (definitely the source at least) will be different on eastern-built models. That would worry the pants off me especially considering the quality problems of the euro-built cars (unless the eastern made ones were better quality (!)  Get some pictures posted up 8)
  10. That's fewking stunning!!! I didn't notice the "photochop" quote when i first looked at it and dtrated getting excited, asit's clearly n official Ford vehicle (from the plate) SMART AS Fkkk!!!! I WANT ONE JUST LIKE IT
  11. Good tip - it's got to be worth an extra £82 surely!
  12. I agree. Do the parts have FINIS listings i wonder (due to the fact they are built at the Chinese plant)?? I like the chrome grille especially.
  13. Well I'd hope they would be as they're a factory option aren't they? (or do they get fitted at the dealer's? - still, it's an option at the point of order.
  14. Come on peeps, I know this topic's been covered a lot, but the questions in my post have no definite answers. At this time, no-one has posted replies. Thanks in advance
  15. I don't want to be a pain with this topic, but i need answers!!!! I've posted in ICE sect to hopefully get more viewings in there http://www.ffoc.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=96842 Cheers
  16. I don't doubt it for a second!! The sound of the ST on Fifth Gear (& Top Gear) was not that good I thought - very quiet in comaprison to what i thought it'd be. This was probably due to EC regs on newcar noise limits, so a cracking loud exhaust is well needed. Good luck with it!!!
  17. Exactly what Karen said! Milltek/Pumaspeed are designing and making up an exhaust system for the new Focus ST, If everything goes okay the systems should be available to buy in a few weeks time. They can be contacted on the phone numbers given if you wish to register your interest in getting one of these systems. Rich Thanks for explanation!! TBH I'd have to see some performance data with comaprisons to the standard unit before I'd consider replacing one (even if I had an ST at present!) Can't fault the enthusiasm of Milltek to fabricate a zorst for a spanking new model, but que
  18. Please, someone, help me out. What's this about? Sorry for my ignorance!
  19. Seems I stirred up a bit of a storm :!: Sorry if I've really offended anyone, but i was merely trying to make the point that this is, after all, the FFOC, so why * * * * off the new ST so heavily and those that want to spend out on having one as soon as it hits the showrooms? Most reply-posts since my last post have covered what i felt about FastEddie's comments over the price and alternatives to the ST, so i won't bother going back over them Still, good, fair, honest debate I reckon. Nice one guys
  20. I agree, after about a week! Going to order white (rally car colour  :D )
  21. Haaaa!! I'm going to be going for white too!!! No such thing as unique anymore! (unless you had a custom job!) White is the rally favourite. I was shocked to see a pic of a mis-matched white coloured bumper on Kevin Davies' post earlier, I was thinking that white would be safe as it's non-metallic. Not sure about the stripes mind... well, actually i'm bloody 100% - they're shee-ite IMO!! Each to their own :) :)
  22. Sounds like some people (those who think an ST Focus is still a Focus) are just plain jealous of those who are putting in ST orders at present. I mean, if a Focus is just a Focus (that comes from the factory looking like a prize fighter that's been in the gym for a few months solid),then what's a 2.0 ESP with gay Piper/K&N/tints ?? - the car of a fkkkin fairy that's wants to drive an RS or new ST but can't afford it and would rather * * * * off the real machines that make his car seem respectable to the general masses because they've seen the real deal (i.e. an RS)and can relate the *ed
