  1. If you have fitted an aftermarket HU then you can derive this from looking at where the ford wiring mates with the iso adapter. ISO colours are usually standard so should be easy to solve. :)
  2. HI Craig, Glad to hear you got it out eventually. Vestaxboy sounds right and given the HU has a screen an internal amp may have been a bit tight :) Pretty certain the photos of the speaker process are on my PC in work so I'll try and dig them out. Hope it went well tonight MJD :)
  3. 5x7s or 17cm comps with appropriate adapters. As for getting at them - 1. Insert flat blade screwdriver or similar into seam on grab handle. The handle is comprised of two halves, the bottom should come away with a little persuasion. 2. Undo two bolts hidden underneath the cover you have just removed 3. Pop the front off the tweeter casing at the top of the door adjacent to the wing mirror. Easier if you drop the window and do this from the outisde in. It just clips in, but being new will require a little persuasion 4. Remove the back frame to the tweeter enclosure and disconnect
  4. Have you tried releasing one side at a time? You should be able to feel the keys latching - if you dont then it aint gonna budge. Once you feel one key latch, try and latch the same side. Perhaps try wrapping some insulation tape around the end of a wall paper scraper (or similar) and use that to work the stereo out of the dash.I suspect your biggest problem is you are relying on those flimsy euro keys to pull it out of the dash. Lots of wires? This is going to depend on the model you have, but the ISO loom forms the basis of getting the HU working. Apart from the ISO loom (which will be
  5. Craig - there is no 'wiring' to do as such. Its true you will be holding wires, but no soldering, tracing wires etc..... You'll need to plug one end of the ISO adapter into the back of the HU and the other will lock onto the standard ford loom. So in a two clicks you have connected almost everything that is necessary. Connect the aerial (another plug) ...and thats it! If you have any additional peripheral bits, drop me a PM and I'm sure I can talk you through it.
  6. The trick is to pop one is first, pop a bit of folded paper in that corner and then move to the other side :)
  7. Not to hand, but to be honest you dont need them. If you have the right keys then your sorted. If its just the HU you are installing it will take you no more than about 10 minutes to install trust me :)
  8. Right - single DIN so you need the fascia. If you havent already got one - Halfords are usually naff when it comes to Autoleads stock, so either get yourself to your nearest ICE/Security place, or - http://www.justkenwood.co.uk/install/sh ... .asp?id=85 Part numbers are - FP07-10 For the fascia PC2-84-4 For the loom You wont be able to remove the standard HU with two bent coat hangers so dont waste your breath. Get the keys, or nip down to your local dealer who will usually pop it out if they are feeling bored enough :)
  9. Assuming the HU is single DIN - you will be requiring the following - Removal keys - http://www.dashmount.co.uk/radiokeys.htm (Bottom left) Single DIN Fascia Adaptor Autoloeads Quadlock ISO Loom If it s DVD HU, then splice the Parking brake onto the earth cable in the loom. If its a Double DIN HU just scrap the fascia. If you can build things out of lego, the rest will be self explanatory :) PM me if you hit any problems.
  10. Well when I get mines fitted I will post a full review and even detailed picutre fitting guide and sound clip's if thats any help. Stewart :D That would be great , albeit a little cruel ;)
  11. Longlife quoted me less than £100 to have a 'cosmetic only' dual effort. This would be nothing more than bling, but thats my next port of call :)
  12. Sadly for my lowly 1.6 I cant really justify performance mods....hardly worth the effort, but some of you 1.8 and 2.0 litre bods must be tempted :)
  13. If I can raise the funds before they sell I'll definitely take the lights off you. Got both smoked and clear here to get shot of, along with grilles and god knows what other stuff I have collected in the last year, so shouldnt be too difficult to raise the funds. Wouldnt usually be a problem, but my wheels go off for polishing at the end of the month so I'm relying on the bay for the extra income :)
  14. Hi Jo, Cant say Im sure, but I may be up for the headlights if you're selling them. Mine are a little scarred, so let me know if you do decide to let them go. EDIT : Actually - looking at ebay, the 06 plates seem to come with both clear and dark, so the above can probably be ignored :)
  15. The peeling lacquer is a known trait of Ford alloys especially the ST220 alloys. This is why I have decided to shell out £200 on getting mine mirror polished. :) So defintiely worth considering a second hand purchase with tyres if possible. Total cost with refurb for me is still less than brand new with tyres (and the tyres have only done about 85 miles :) )
  16. That kit is for the MK1/1.5 and instructions for fitting will reference the looms in those models.
  17. They are not fitted as standard to the sport. I did speak to torquesteer about a kit for the MK2, but it never came to anything.
  18. If you are looking at Ford 18" rims, anything from £900 up. I picked up a set of ST220 alloys for £500 with tyres on ebay. (Which incidentally are now off for mirror polishing at the end of the month :) )
  19. Try searching against any of the following - New shape focus Focus MK2/MKII Focus MK3/MKIII Focus 05/06 Focus 2005/2006 Also try Focus II, on www.ebay.de - loads of stuff :)
  20. Got mine fitted with National Tyres. 85 quid with alignment :)
  21. Door handles Gear knob Just about all the bits for my ice install Side repeaters Alloy Wheels Springs :)
  22. No-no-no-no-no! :) Personally I think they look truly awful. Up there with american billet efforts you see on ebay. Far sooner take a vanilla grille and colour code the outer rim! ;)
  23. The handle itself is a bit of a pig. Door card off, inner skin removed etc... If its just a de-lock bezel, you should find a rubber bung in the side of the door neer the locking mechanism. Remove this, undo the hidden bolt...and off it comes.
  24. Wheels would look far better if they werent black about the rim. Gives the impression of a mass of rubber, rather than a nice low profile. Coding look sweet though - did you do that yourself?
