  1. it's not free :( trim isn't included in second year warranty. £38 =vat so i didn't bother :|
  2. Returned my 04 2.0tdci shortly after it's service due to nasty noise, engine cover found to be culprit, dealer said we will return it but don't stand on one leg cos it ain't covered (warrenty that is,not engine :? ) went on hols,500mile round trip which average fuel was 50.6mph :) doing 80to90 where poss so happy at that cos it's pants around home. Getting off track abit! anyway, couldn't tell engine cover was missing,on return letter from dealer saying part was ere,i rang and asked if a charge and they said no cos a big W is written on the paper work. So....fitted tomorrow, free. I think, well.
  3. A lot of mechanics have told me they simply rely on gravity, slacken them nipples and let it flow! i have done this alot and it works fine....most of the time, sometimes needs a foot to push through awkward stuborn bubble worthless bit of info for the brake fluid longlivity discussion i have an old T redg(what year is that?) David Brown996 tractor that is still on original fluid and the brakes work fine  12mph to 0 in not many minutes at all
  4. recently bought 2.0tdci ghia cmax and found out it had a clutch after only 5k,i know you can see people riding the clutch while waiting for the lights..... my point is.....the clutch in it now is weird, you have to give it a bigish footfull other wise a horrible loud grating stall....the biting point is very narrow, guess i'll live with it though it's far from silky smooth-like moi  and NO ,it's not me,i regularly drive HGV class 1 (which now have girlie air clutches :D ) motorbike, tractors combine, forklift,oh yes...and while i'm on an inflated roll, fly an aeroplane 8) beat that you, you
  5. I prefer the alternatives, very nice :D But...... will they stick on the same? (i release they should realise easy  ) Got a flat the other day and wheel decided to stay put :? it lost eventually but is this why you see so many people at the side of the road waiting for help, cos they cant change a wheel or cos they are stuck on? I'm on my first ever alloys and have heard if copper grease applied,it''s not a prob, though tyre guy says it wont help. Cmax having second service today and i believe part of that is wheels off for visual check on brakes. So, how long before wheels get stuc
  6. I have had my Cmax a couple of months now and suspected a faulty epb,until.......i read the handbook  it says the epb only releases if either clutch or brake is depressed  so all those times i was wondering when it would release,it was by chance that my foot went on the pedal ! on another note, how similar are the cmax and focus? same chassis? floor pan? length? just wondered,as you do while waiting for the brakes to realise
  7. I just bought a 2.0tdci to pull my abbey oxford,it should pull like pulling a coloured man off your mother  not tried it yet though
  8. er Gambo,it's supposed to.... The miles until empty figure never goes up even when I'm on the motorway driving steadily at 70 in sixth, the figure just keeps dropping as i complete each mile.
  9. from full 438 to empty on school run in country IF light footed can manage 40mpg 'average' happyish at that reset on motorway while in 6th doing 70, shows 55-65 depending if the sun shines "there are figeurs, lies and statistices all spelt correctly" :? Sir Winston Churchill, although someone on telly last night quoted as someone else :? just who do you believe eh?
  10. Do yourself a favour and tell them the valves are ok (they will maybe refuse or talk you round. saftey blah blah blah) i have a motorbike and guess what? when they fit new tyres (tyre dealers and main bike dealers) they never replace the valves, what for they say?nothing wrong with them! well why do i get new valves on the car? cos you is a mug mate!! its only silly car owners who get conned
  11. i did it i did it :D i'm a man  must admit,it's reassuring know that it has an escape system, gizmos are great unless they disable you, the poor guy who wrote on here that he had to get help because of his failing in the middle of no where, that's grim and not acceptable.... one accepts a conked motor, but a handbrake that won't let go,that would seriouslly stress you out :(
  12. i tried on mine (just can't leave things alone!) and there was 2" of slack cable and the handle fell off, this was while waiting for wife to come out form shop, so i thought i better leave alone for now  a good hard tug then?
  13. http://tsuphoto.com/motorsport/public/b ... _4924.html look what i have in my cmax :D
  14. oh okay,i was going to ask them to see to the voltage set point update thing asap, but perhaps i'm worring unnecessarily  hey check out the size of the battery! me tractor's not as big  topped cmax up with oil yesters and plastic filler cap has a lug missing so is a bit flimsey :? oil specs are doing me head in, bought some carlube 5w-30 synthetic £11+vat for 5L it says it ok for ford spec WSS-M2C913-B ( the B means for diesel, i'm learning  )
  15. Problemo...... My car is approching 2, to conform with carring on warrenty it needs a service as per wotnots due in March Price of service by local ford garage is £175 this is for an oil filter and oil,not sure if they swop the air filter on the second low milage service, so allow at retail £40 for bits? local factor price is nearer £20 (yes including quality oil) so labour, one and half hours worth £110 ish So, my last year of warrenty will cost £175 (i normally do all my own servicing at £20-£30 a go) i will be paying for a problem before it has happened, similar to the washing machine w
