it is easy. remove the cd player & there is two t20 screws, the air controls are behide & you do not need to mess arround with these. un do the screws pull out and clip in the new one £45 from ford. refit the screws and cd player and enjoy

U can get an K & N Air filter on ebay for your motor & Superchips are working on a bluefin.

Has one got got the part numbers yet for the new ford kit??

I removed my K & N filter yesterday, as my car when in yet again. Ford have it more than me!! When I first fitted the K & N I thought it made a real improvement, however it is the same with the factory paper filter back in. :(

What do u think of the P21S Cleanser? Have not used that yet.

No mine is a petrol MkII. However am sure the gains would be better on the TDCI. As the turbo unit yours have will benfit more from increased airflow. I would not go for an induction kit. Ie Noice, Warranty & Heat soak. Well the K & N service information states it needs cleaned at approx 50,000 Miles. It also comes with a warranty for 1 million miles or 10 years. I would try it!! only costs £35.00 and if your not happy ebay it again should still get £25. Only really £10 to try. I was very unsure and turns out it was a good investment. Got my new sony cd unit. Straight swap from my 6000cd. Got the removal keys from Halfords £3.99 x2. Only thing that slowed me down was the cables in the back. they do not just pull out. There is a level on the clip, you lift and this removes the cables. So if any one has a 5000 and want to upgrade to cd, Sent us a message & we can deal. Tip top conditon. so much nicer looking and I think the sound is better too. I did not need to get mine set up on the WDS, Worked 100%. I got it from a gentle man on ebay. He was great to deal with and sent it ASAP. He seems to have lots more :D .

OK now had the K & N in for two full days. I can say it really does make the car rev smoother and far harder. It is meant to take a few days for the ECU to adjust, unless you do a reset. But i have not this and I can say the filter has made a good improvment. £36.00 well spend!!!

I under stand your views guy. but if you follow the links. it shows the level of dirt that passes through the K & N when compared to the ford paper filter. Well as you all know, mine arrived today. I decided to compare my paper with the k & N. To my horror the Ford item was as black as your boot. so much for them changing it last service!! I fitted the K & N. Took my car for a hell of a test driver 40 miles. It is smoother and when under full power, It DOES pull better. same as before when driven gently. But it relly improves pull when floored more so in higher gears. HOWE

It is. First i though it was the battery. but the hand book said it will give a low batt sign in the trip computer!!! but any way I changed it and it worked fine. Happy days I thought, next day didn't work again. (heavy rain) was ok for about 4 weeks until lastweek heavy rain again.

That is not bad. I have a 1.6 zetec, 100BHp yours is the 112BHP Mine gives 36.3 MPG However am a keen driver!!! :lol: Now this improved when I made the switch to BP Ultimate. Before it was 33.9MPG on Ave. Mine is 12mth old with 10500 miles. Yes it costs a bit more and in the scheme of things am sure the extra cost balances with the extra distance. However I find the car smooth to drive with this fuel. It revs better, must be cause the fuel burns better having a higher ron rating. each to your own i quess. A cheaper way to try is to use saintburys super 97 Ron ( made by shell ) only

Keep us upto date. I went to post office there and collected my new k & N. don't know to even fit it or put it back on ebay.

I have been suffering the same problems with my remote locking. First I though it was the area. I was in ie other sources. However I have noticed when it has been raining heavy, and the car has been still Ie not drove it does not work. The water must be stopping the signal.

hi quys, rather disappointed I found this topic, just purhased a K & N for my MKII was posted on sat, but was in shower and missed it (recorded) This is a link in the air / filter section http://www.max-boost.co.uk/max-boost/in ... airfilters To cut a long story short, it claims a k &N will offer NO EXTRA POWER & WRECK YOUR ENGINE. It goes on to say a normal paper filter is FAR FAR BETTER & WILL OFFER BEST POWER!!! Rather annoyed any one want to buy a K &N panel for a 1.6 MK II ??? I quess not.

good lad. any information would be great. I found my local dealer rather good for the work i got done. I got a ms design spoiler, my side rubs and tail handle. along with my front fog lights colour coded for just £190.00 I think that was rather good. The work was great, yes like any ford dealer their was problems it took 4 days more than first said. but the colour is prefect and the quailty of work man ship is 100% I would use my local body shop again without question. However my local service dept is rubbish!!!

HAS ANY ONE FOUND OUT ABOUT THIS KIT?? IT IS NOT THE MS DESIGN KIT. THE BUMBER IS DIFF. PRICES PART NO WOULD BE SUPER. :lol:

Hi guys you may be interested, ford are planning to release a New Limited Focus ST40. They have not confirmed the name, either ST40 or ST Le Mans Its cause Ford won the 1966 Lemans and got place 1,2 &3 It is only available in Black with over top silver strips. Is to be be based on the ST2 but with more features and cost more. Where did I get this information. This weeks Auto Car.
