The new Focus is just a bag of * * * *!!.....cant believe so many folk are defending it on here....sure its a nice looking car and handles well,but the build quality on it is absolutely shocking..you just need to look through this forum and see all the issues with it....a car is a major purchase and cuustomers deserve better quality from Ford than the new Focus. There are far better built cars out there in the same class...when It comes to changing cars for me..next time it wont be Ford thats for sure.

I have just noticed that mine has come out too....this would explain the whistling noise at high speed on the motorway from the wind catching it!!.. Tried putting it back in but its out again...what a pain in the * * * * it is. This car could have been so much better if Ford had got the small things like this correct.

Also if you are used to bikes you will love the noise from the MK2 Focus. :lol:

The MK1 must run like a tank then!!...it must be very noisy!! :o

Tell them to stick it mate and go elsewhere!!...thats a terrible time to have to wait for anything....its only a car for christs sake!!...theres plenty others out there!! :)

The new Focus is not the quietest car on the road.Frankly the road noise all the time and wind noise above 60 is terrible for a new car. :shock:...my previous car was a Megane and was much quieter on the road. Having had my 1.6 LX for a few weeks now I reckon its been massively over hyped...sure its a nice car to drive but its a let down in other ways...ie road noise,fuel economy,and all the build quality issues that I read about on here. Anyone else of this opinion?

I have just noticed when out cleaning my car today for the first time that I have the same problem too :( ...seems to be yet another problem area on this car.

Christ they could have built the space shuttle quicker.......ffs thats shocking!! :shock:

Definitely the 100 version of the 1.6 that I have. To be honest its fine for me its only local driving I do anyway,...what a lovely car to drive though...really enjoying it! 8)

Got my July 05 Registered 1.6LX with 9,500 on the clock for 8999 less my 1650 trade in for my T Reg Megane...well happy with that....reckon I got a good deal there. Just shows the crap depreciation on this car though.

I have a CD/DJ unit on my 1.6 LX and I have the socket in the back of the glovebox for the Ipod cable,..not sure if its working or not though as dont have the correct cable yet....thought this socket was not present on the 1.6 LX?.....bit strange that its there when the poster above says it does not work with aux on CD/DJ model?

Reckon its the 100..although to be honest I am not totally sure!!....is there any surefire way to tell?...its a nearly new car 7 months old so I had no say in the spec.

Got my Moondust Silver 1.6 LX today...its a great drive...much faster and more refined than my old 1.4 Megane.I am well pleased with it so far!! I am particularly impressed by the finish and feel of the cabin...it feels like a much more expensive car than it is or indeed should be for the money. So far so good!! :D :D

I get my 1.6 LX delivered today,its the 100 version.Sounds like it will do for me..I expect to see a difference after driving a 1.4 Megane for the last few years. :D So is it a chain drive on this engine rather than a belt?

I have owned a 1.4 megane from new for the last 7 years and never had a problem with it.In fact I almost bought another one but I fancied a change and after reading all the glowing reports on the new Focus I went for it...I get my 7 month old 1.6 LX delivered on Monday. I am sure it will be just fine,..just puts you off when you read of all the wee niggly faults that people have had.....I suppose every car has its faults,..its just your luck. I like this forum though as its good to share other folks experiences of the car and get opinions...I have seen enough to assure me that I am making

ffs the more I read about the potential problems with this car the more I am being put off getting mine.....getting it on Monday too,...just hope its all ok :roll:

Hi folks I'm a new poster and have been reading this forum for a wee while now. I will be taking possesion of a July 2005 registered Ford Focus 1.6 Lx with only 9000 miles on the clock soon from Autosave.uk ..got a great deal on it and they are part exchanging my T plate Renault Megane too!!. Just wondered what your opinions were on the 1.6 LX ..I have not read a bad review anywhere on the Focus and I am looking forward to owning one. Would love to hear some of your opinions on this. Ps Keep up the good work on this forum,..its been added to my favourited list now!!
