  1. Hi everyone, Long time no see. I hav'nt posted for a while so thought I would say hello to see how your all getting on and pick your brains if you don't mind ;) This forum is getting awfully quiet without a resident auto hypochondriac  My car will be getting booked in for its annual service very soon so was wondering if there is anything I can do before taking on the servicing dealer? At present my radio has yet again gone screwy losing time and reseting its time at random. The last time it was fixed they removed the RDS functionality but alas still not any difference. Another problem I
  2. Hi Craig, Glad to hear you've got everything sorted at last :) Cheers for the :drinking:  Do you now feel you will be keeping the car for the duration? TopScAL - I was told a while back when the fix for the PCM module was first available it was only available to dealers that needed it, and was not yet validated for general release. Best bet would be to ask your dealer about it. Might be a good way to see if you need to find another dealer to look after your car ;) Chris :drinking:
  3. Ortho, M8 - If you have time to reconsider may be worth you telling your dealer to stick his Focus Estate and go to another dealer to get your CMax sorted. Your dealer sounds like they're playing you like a fiddle :( Having driven both cars myself and owned the CMax for some time now I feel as others here do your making a BIG mistake :( Don't take it personally m8 - we are only holding your interests at heart and don't want to see you wishing you hadn't taken this route. Just think of the holiday you could treat yourself to for the amount of money your binning here! Get the holiday brochures
  4. :waves hello: Been a bit elusive lately, sorry  Sorry no side on views. Will rectify this next time out to show how the CMax looks when it is uncared for and dirty  Just so you guys just getting your Cmax's will know what it will look like in the longer term ;) World's largest six pack! :drinking: :drinking: :drinking: :drinking: :drinking: Help yourself guys & ladies. Tapped from the bottom to ensure its cool  Chris :drinking:
  5. Hi jakx, Glad to see your pleased with your new motor m8. Looks very nice in the sun in that photo 8) Go steady with that right foot ;) When I drove mine on the motorway first time it amazed me how rapid it could be only slightly pressing the throttle and riding the turbo. Won't be long before your doing some wet road wheelspinning ;) Look forward to hearing your thoughts on the car after a few weeks. Warm regards, Chris :drinking:
  6. Hi TDCighia, Sorry to hear yet another car released to its owner without fixes being applied? Recently people have been saying that their dealers have promised that all fixes would be applied, and also Ford has instructed the same yet these new motors are still going out to customers faulty? Give them hell m8. This is not acceptable when your spending that kind of money :( If you can be bothered, might be worth you ringing up FCRC and asking them why this is still going on after all that has gone on here earlier this year with faulty cars. Sorry for having a rant ;) Just cannot understand
  7. Hi ortho, I thought your car was delayed previously as Ford were instructing that all outstanding cars had to be fixed before release to dealers/customers? Chris :drinking:
  8. Hi Peter, A few options that you may wish to consider:- If you want to cover all bases you could put it in writing immediately to the Dealer Principle of the supplying garage outlining the problem and that you are giving notice that if the vehicle is not fixed within 28 days you are rejecting the car. Send a copy of this to Ford Customer Relations Centre and see if they ring you to offer assistance. After 28 days - if still not fixed then drive car to the dealers and park it up in their lockup compound. Walk into the dealers and ask to see Dealer Principle - hand over the keys and letter i
  9. ortho - If my experience is anything to go by - FCRC will promise you all sorts but when it comes to the crunch will deliver you nothing. I've given over 6 months to FMC of tolerance and understanding on my part waiting on things to be sorted. In return at the crunch, FCRC contact has gone very quiet. Your best bet is to pursue the dealer on this as I feel you will be wasting your time with FMC. Very shoddy IMO :(
  10. ortho - Forget the onboard computer m8. Only way to find out your mpg is to brim the car + reset trip meter. When your ready to fill again - write down distance covered on trip meter onto receipt from this fill. Use this data to work out your mpg. From what i've seen with my driving style and car use I find upper 30's, ~38mpg to be my average. This is on a car with 3600 miles on the clock doing what I would consider "Urban" motoring FWIW. When you fill up be interested to hear what your true mpg is compared to the computers numbers. Congrats on the freebies :) Glad to see someone has been offr
  11. Lol - I could just imagine the response from FCRC at me ringing about my problem. Then when they think they've got rid of me I harass them on another owners behalf - priceless! Sorry Craig m8, but I cannot help but see the funny side of it all now. They'd think its one of those nutters again. Have you ever tried ringing FCRC and asking to speak to a manager? I have visions of the call centre operative in the call centre waving their hand in the air and the rest of them all fighting wanting to take their turn at being the manager! Would we be any the wiser? Chris :drinking:
  12. Oh nooooooooo! :shocked!: Not another call to FCRC. They'll start thinking i'm a nutter looking for attention. Please excuse me while I go lie down and have a nervous breakdown!
  13. Hi Craig, I feel your pain m8 :( The diagram of that panel is for the whole door side as one unit like ucsman hinted at! M8, that is going to be expensive :( Can you not cut out the grill with a knife and get an aftermarket speaker cover to go over the top? If fitted carefully would look ok. Be worth a try. If you were happy with the end product then copy over the other side 8) I've been lucky up till now but after seeing that i'm inclined to tooth comb my motor after taking it in. Grrrr - why cannot people respect each others property? Makes me sad to even think about what might have been b
  14. Peter - I don't even want to have to go there with trying to get the dealer to do something for me. Guess a phone call to DVLA will have to be my first port of call. Dealer as a last resort i'm afraid :( One problem is that my car was preregistered, though it doesn't show any previous owners on the RAC site - very strange. Can they apply for a V5 without a tax disc? Hi Craig, Maybe this is a cost saving measure? Perhaps non payment of bills or employee apathy? RAC being more current than Ford site is pretty funny though  Perhaps Ford are lacking financial incentive to keep it
  15. Thanks for the linky peter :) My car shows up there fine so pleased to get some progress. So the car is registered it would appear so could do with getting the V5. Surely the garage would have needed the V5 to get the tax disc? I will ring DVLA Monday but I seem to remember you had to pay for a replacement. Is there any way I can force this issue with the dealer? Every time I speak to them I get promised it will come but still nothing after all this time. Chris :drinking:
  16. Hi ucsman, Sorry to hear your first venture out with the 2.0 TDCi ended up with dissapointment. I've had plenty of problems but nothing like this. I did notice though that when I received the car it did appear that all the fluid levels were filled very close to the minimum. Have you checked the oil level? Just wondering if maybe the CMax your driving has drunk a bit of oil being a new motor and the level has dropped? Chris
  17. I've just been reading through some posts in the smaller foci section and got me curious to look up my cars details on the net for the hell of it. My car is now 6 months old and even though FCRC have intervened have still not received my V5 in the post. So I had a look on Fordserviceonline - popped in my reg no. and nothing. Also tried popping my cars VIN number shown on windscreen and still nothing. Is this a common occurence? Chris
  18. Hi bennie, You won't be dissapointed m8. Look forward to hearing your opinions on your new motor next week. Will save you a :drinking: to celebrate your new motor :D Hope it all goes smoothly. Chris :drinking:
  19. What is it with the ladys liking this motor? I'm feeling all left out  Anyone got a pretty young woman to loan for testing this theory on my motor? Vitro - if you multiply the PS by 100, divided by 99 should give you the bhp. Chris :drinking:
  20. I think this Inky Blue looks smart on the CMax and am surprised more people havn't gone for this colour. If you don't mind looking after the cleaning regularly would be a nice colour to own and admire I guess.
  21. hehe - you must be up to and over the 30 page mark then now? Don't you fancy faxing another reminder to Mr. Thomas consolidating all the letters up to the present including any new ones? Keep it up m8 - If you are keeping record like you say I don't think it will be long before this gets so far out of hand that Ford won't have a leg to stand on. The muppets sound like their pulling kermits strings! ;) Think of all the man hour cost in the EO that has been wasted on this for Ford. Like I said in an earlier post - The gross cost including all concerned at all levels must be spiralling now
  22. Hi DieselDude, I think the CMax fixes depend on whether your car is on the verge of being committed or not? I've had all my outstanding fixes done but from what some people have said on this forum i'm not sure they're all official or just in testing? Its been rumoured on here that all new cars not yet delivered have been ordered by Ford not to be released to customers till oustanding fixes have been applied, but those who already have their vehicles are not yet aware whether they will get their cars fixed just yet as the dealer network seems to be singing all sorts of tunes on this. There do
  23. Justice - You may already have done this but I wonder if it would help if you were to point out everything that has been wrong with the vehicle incrementally, individually, dated and itemised. Then perhaps draw up a standard format letter with the error/fault that occurs missing so you can add it before sending off. Then every time someone or something is amiss you can fire the letter off in 1 minute flat. A steady flurry of letters including one covering previous faults as they occurred might just get on FMC's nerves enough for them to do something constructive instead of obstructive for a ch
  24. Craig m8 - You wouldn't have it any other way if you thought your kids were surfing your bookmarks ;) :drinking:
  25. nooooo - saw a mondy today in that colour. Looked like a Chocolate cake looks like when dusted with cocoa. It wasn't even dirty but showed up what little it had. Not a colour for the lazy car owner. You need convincing m8 - Moondust Silver is the perfect colour.
