1.6 TDCi - Resonance at 2500K revs
mr_greedy replied to Matt_C's topic in MK2 - Ford Focus 2005 > 2011
Maybe its my spidey-sense style hearing then, because it's not really a jarring, annoying noise. But its deffo there. Hope you get it sorted anyway! -

Heh. What is it with Ford garages and not reconnecting vacuum hoses :D -

My 1.8 does a similar thing. In fact every car I've ever owned has had a 'resonance spot' in the rev range. I thought it was just one of those things. Heh. As an aside, it happens at around 2100 - 2500rpm on mine. Above that you can't hear or feel anything up to around 3400rpm. Very disconcerting. :P -
I just couldn't take anymore!!

Shame. You must've had a Monday or a Friday car, because the other half's father has an 04 C-Max and does virtually interplanetary miles in it - and apart from one fault where the radiator fan was constantly on all the time - he's had no problems. Better luck next time mate! -
Black or very dark coloured C-Max's look cool. It makes the car look smaller somehow, which is good 8)

Yeah. It's all a bit hit and miss. My CD6000 was a pig to get out with the keys. About an hour struggling.. What I've noticed it, if you get it right first time, it engages the clip and the radio is loose in that corner right away. So if you put a key in and it's not engaged the clip, then it never will on that insertion, don't try to wiggle it around you're wasting your time. Just pull it out and try again. I had two big thick screw drivers though the top and bottom keys on either side, pulling with all my might (within reason - didn't wanna break anything :P ) and it still wouldn't c

I've got the Sony CD/MP3. The 6 CD version DOESN'T do MP3.

Ahh.. The dehumidified properties of air conditioned air..! I never thought about that.. I'll have a look where the dial is the next time I use the car. Thanks guys.

Am I missing something obvious here, but why does the AC on my 05 LX come on occasionally of it's own will? Does anyone else have this problem? Is there some reason / some heater/blower dial combination that makes this happen?

does 2.5 st with dvd satnav play mp3 cd?
mr_greedy replied to thomST's topic in MK2 - Ford Focus 2005 > 2011
Is there any way you could get a hold of the manual for one? Surely that would tell you either way? -
Will do. Thanks.

Yeah, I prolly should. Just fancied a nosey round. Ta anyways. :)

If it reads discs of MP3s, I'd wager it'd also read ID3 tags embedded in the mp3s. The Sony/Ford mp3 certainly does. You can switch between filename mode and tag mode. -
Hi. Sorry for the cross-post, but this didn't get any attention in the diesel forum.. My (brill) Focus doesn't seem to be pulling as strongly just recently, and before I take it to the garage I just thought I'd check the EGR valve myself if it's a relatively easy job.. Are there any guides or pictures anywhere to doing this on a MKII? Cheers.

Nowt special really.. But she's my baby. Wheel trims! No fogs?! Why, of course, it's an LX! She's a beaut though. Best car I've ever had. 1.8 TDCi, just over a year old. Top colour, looks classy in any kind of light.

I'd like to see a pic of those! But I'd also like to keep the car as Ford as possible. Nothing too radical :) These sill protection packs, do they include the plates for all the sills or is that £51.27 each? Thanks for pulling the numbers for me anyways!

Looking really /really/ nice :) Aquarius blue is quite the colour! Do the sill kick plate thingys (or whatever they're called) come standard on the Titanium? I want something similar for my lowly LX.. Not to be flash per se, but to stop lazy passengers scraping my sills. Anyone know the part num from Ford, or if I can get them anywhere else? Cheers!
