  1. They must know who was driving on the day in question so can trace it back. Did you get a witness who saw this happen if so you should be OK.
  2. Exactly my point - I had a ST170 previous to my 2.0 TDCi which regularly obtained the combined target ~33MPG. I have pasted Ford's figures for the ST below: 2.0i 16V Duratec ST* ST170 (17" tyre) 12.0 (23.5) 6.9 (40.9) 8.8 (32.1) 23.5 being urban, 40.9 extra urban and 32.1 combined so I expected to get the same (combined figure for my C-Max - ~50MPG). At best I am getting 41-42MPG which equates to their urban figure. I am doing the same journey and driving the same albeit maybe less aggressively :) Doesn't make sense.
  3. Mine is levelling out at about 40-41 MPG - this involves a 50 mile round trip to work. Read in this weeks auto express an article about the MPG 'scandle' the manufacturers are getting away with in regards to the stats they quote. Seems they calculate these figures in none real world conditions, i.e. on a rolling road with perfect conditions.... No wonder we dont get what they do!
  4. Whoot! Thats one I can knock off the list of annoying querks!
  5. 45 litres last visit which had the fuel light on or just about to come on - now considering this is supposed to be ~50 miles, I'd worry if it took 10litres to do 50 miles.
  6. You use the key and not the remote - lazy * * * * !
  7. No it was a Zetec with lots of toys added. If they used a Ghia the suspension would have been softer than a Zetec.
  8. It beeps if you try and pull it up at high speeds!!! I've tried! :P
  9. Nor does my 2.0 litre TDCi so your not the only one.
  10. Ive had similar issues with my 2 Litre TDCi - mainly the kangaroo-ing in low gears when pulling away - squeeky drivers front wheel (brake related) - poor fuel consumption and the fuel indicator that everyone seems to be having. Main one is the consumption as this was why I particularly bought a diesel from having an ST170. I used to get ~ 330-340 miles to the ST tank - get about 410-420 in the C-Max which is about 41-42 mpg - Nowhere near the 50mpg+ I should be getting for my journey (according to Fords stats).
  11. Which is exactly what I was expecting for my version - to get roughly the combined figure (~50mpg) - I think ill mention it to the service department get them to check it over. I've only been getting ~ 410 miles to a tank (the petrol light is on so there would be more miles left) - but this has been consistant.
  12. Sucks...The only reason I bought it was for decent MPG.
  13. Yours has more power? This has the most power of all current TDCi engines. It's not 40mpg I'm targetting its 50! Thats why i'm so dissapointed. If 40 was what I thought I should be getting and Ford stated the same then I wouldn't be as bothered, but since it's supposed to be 50 and i'm about 10mpg+ out its a bit of a difference.
  14. I expect it to do a damned site better than my ST170! Have been in a few VW Passat TDi's and they register ~ 600 to a tank on the trip computer - which is about 150 miles more than mine has ever managed. Maybe it has a bigger tank - I dunno but as far as Im concerned I should be getting a damned site more than 40mpg - 2 litre 136bhp or not - my ST was 170 bhp and did about 33-35 and that was petrol!
  15. Thats about the same I was getting in my ST!!! Anyone else getting similar MPG? Does it calculate correctly to what the computer says? I really cannot understand how this is getting a poor return - the whole idea of diesels is to give you more MPG!
  16. What MPG is your car returning? I have the 2.0 Ghia TDCi and was expecting (going off the manual) to be getting 50mpg for the type of journey I regularly do. I am only if I'm lucky getting ~ 40MPG. My last car (an ST170) regularly obtained the middle MPG value (I think its called the combined one) so am a little concerned that I went to the expense of getting this diesel varient and am not getting a great deal more MPG to that of my ST (~33MPG). Are there any problems with this engine? Should I take it back for a check up - its already done ~ 1200+ miles. Thanks in advance
