  1. Not much room in there jamesmakin2002, would prefer dials aswell. manged to rap round some selotape on the wee bit it goes down on, still closed at the moment. Gonna try n book it in the morra for monday.
  2. I never used the bloomin thing aswell, did act up a few times by not closing but a good bang on it usually done the trick, now it won't close at all. Need to book it into Fords, but want to wait for my car, don't want it in from 8am and get it back at 4pm for such a simple repair! Anyone else had problems with this storage compartment?
  3. Like Archeci said, visit your Ford dealer. Maybe it requires a software update.
  4. Well I'm not sure about the technical side of the lights but I think there's a lot of kit needed for them. You would need to buy the new light units (obviously lol), then maybe have to buy the headlamp washers and connect those to your windscreen washer bottle (or replace the washer bottle for the zenon compatable one if you can't connect it) and they are auto-leveling lights so I dunno if that is built into the light units or if you would need to add a device that controls this. Maybe it is straight forward, I had them fitted as an option and they make the car look more attractive 8)
  5. Yeah I know, you look at the price and think WOW look how cheap they are and when it comes to buying them, you find out it's jumped up a bit. If you've bought a k&n panel filter, they are quite easy to fit. The screws aren't a standard 4 star. Use either a 5 star screwdriver or a small flathead as I found this out the hard way and nearly ruined the tops of the screws. You also need to loosen and remove the small airhose to and from the airbox and engine, it's held on by one of those tighting clips. You might already know all this but it's nice to be nice :D
  6. I think Ford will just give the Focus a face and bum lift, maybe the face of the new mondeo and the bum of the new fiesta (just the lights though). They should start to introduce LED rear lights on their new models, like VW has, and I even seen a Renault Scenic with LED brake lights.
  7. Thanks for the replys, not sure what to do now as I do need to put the steering wheel in full lock when reversing out of my parking space. Tony, why did you remove your limiter? Edit: I looked at the wheel diameter checker on here and there's not much difference between my old and new wheels so i'm going to get the alloys and cancel the rack limiter. Thanks for everyone's help. I post up pics when they're fitted.
  8. I ordered new 18" alloys and a rack limiter kit from ford parts over 2 months ago for my Focus Ghia. I've been told that there was a short supply of my items so would need to wait a while to get them. I e-mailed the company a couple of weeks ago and they said my alloys are in stock but the rack limiter is not. I would like to know if I could fit the alloys without the rack limiter. I have had the car lowered by 30mm.
  9. Are they quite easy to fit? I might get a pair myself.
  10. Proberly not Tony, but if I get the rear ones replaced would I notice much difference?
  11. It's ok kensa, I think I just need to get used to the springs. I'd still like to know if I should replace the rear ones though.
  12. Maybe it's all in my head then. I`ll ask Tezza anyway to see if it's wise to replace the rear shocks. Thanks Tony
  13. I was trying to get a quote for 2 front and 2 rear shocks for my car but was told that because I have a Ti-VCT engine my 2 front are Zetec ones and the rears are Ghia ones or standard. Can anyone comfirm this? What should I do if this is true? I've recently lowered the car and I'm finding it a bit bouncy. Would I just need to replace the rear shocks to Zetec ones or am I better getting a full eibach pro shocks set?
  14. Been in the car for a while tonite and I donno if it's in my head but the ride is a bit bouncer than normal. I think I will go ahead and get the zetec shocks fitted anyway.
  15. Got my car back today, only took 3 1/2 hours to do which was good. My steering feels a little heaver or theres more feel to it which I hope is normal. I've read in another topic that it's recommend that I get Zetec shocks as Ghia ones won't last very long or don't work that well when lowered. I think I just wait till the shocks start to go as my car's only 4 months old and I've spent a lot on it already. Just need to put my new 18" machined alloys on then that will be my car finished. I post up pics when I get them on.
  16. I just wanted to ask what's involved as I'm not sure which garages are good in my area. Someone from McConnecys told me to go to this garage, It looked ok to me and I have seen some modified cars coming and going from the place. Just don't want my new car to get buggered up by some monkey wrench boy fresh outta college lol.
  17. I visited my local Ford and they were very unsure about lowering springs. They said it would be £300 for labour and about £150 for parts. 6 hours they said it would take. I got a quote from a local garage, £140 for labour and the springs are £99 from ESP with my member discount. Are they quite easy to fit? do they need to take a lot of parts off to fit them? if anyone can tell me what's involved, that would help. I've got a 1.6 Ti-VCT Ghia, wanting to fit eibach 30mm springs.
  18. I've got the Ti-VCT engine with a K&N panel filter, I've noticed a difference in pulling power. I got mine from www.espdesign.co.uk
  19. It will just be a face and bum lift, like the MK4 to MK5 fiesta.
  20. Here is what your car would look like I'm getting them aswell, just as soon as I have the cash.
  21. On my driver's side rear door, just above the window, the plastic bit on that keeps coming out of the rubber seal. Not sure if the tiniting company have put it back in wrong but i'm gonna get Ford to have a look at it if it get worse as it's not that bad at the mo but I don't want water to get into it.
  22. I've see now that people are getting varied results so i'm not that worried about my car. I'll be changing my air filter to a K&N panel one so i'll post up any results I get from using that.
  23. I've done about 3100 miles sofar in my new Focus, but my MPG is still only 30. I've been using motorways at about 70 MPH, driving slower, but it still doesn't go past 30 MPG. Do I need to wait until I've done about 10,000 miles or could there be a problem with my car? I drive a 1.6 Ti-VCT Ghia.
