I just read that again doesnt make a lot of sense and i should say its my point of view when i buy something its buyer beware to a certain extent with a used car - NOT that i think this should be the case

Never had any of those problems but why would the dealer refuse to fix them all? Dont know about the paint flaking im afraid i know that paint / rust problems seem to be a sore point but i thought to some extent that if you bought a used car its a bit of buyer beware and you should check the car over before you accept - but i may be wrong?? Its difficult i guess, my new car had a scratch on the bumper when i got it home and saw it in the daylight - told one of the guys and he told me 2 order some paint, told someone else there and they said they would order me in a touch up kit at no charge

yeah ill probably go for the mp3 one really i think

I have a 1.6 TiVCT Ghia which is doing about 35mpg with nearly all motorway driving but only 5,000 on the clock they supposedly get better once the engine is better run in at 7k + or so ive heard I dont know much about diesels as ive never had one - if length of ownership is an issue a petrol will still be running in 4 years and i assume a diesel too there are many foci on here older than that Never driven a cmax either so cant really comment on that For the price of that diesel you quoted i got an 11month old 1.6 Ti-VCT ghia but depends what you class as nearly new - mine was 11 months

I guess ive got the same as you then as mines an 05 - even my OH commented as hed only just discovered the grab handles on his 03 mondeo and then on my new car they are awkward lol

Ooh ive not discovered that yet the boot handles are more annoying on the MK2 They are more awkward than the old ones

where do you hear the creaking sound if its tie rods - sorry im stupid lol

I guess they would replace the light console and door handle?

Im seriously thinking of getting the sony headunit (i know the speakers wont be as good as a factory fitted one) am i right in thinking there are 2? one is an MP3 CD player and one a 6CD? Are they both just a pull out the old onf and stick in the new one jobby? Oh and does anyone know the part numbers for the 2 of them? Cheers

I didnt realise either until i picked mine up from the dealer, and he asked the usual are you ok with all the controls etc and he told me about the alarm - good job because the dog comes to work with us and hes often left alone in the car for 5 mins with the windows down

I guess heavy rain can interfear with sky tv etc and things that use signals so i guess its possible with the keys too - sounds incredibly annoying though

My Ghia has the thatcham cat 1 alarm as standard - ive never tried to set it off to be honest but it has a deactivation button for the internal scan which obviously i was told to use if i was leaving the windows down or the dog in the car - does yours have the button for that?

None of the doors had anything jammed in them or not closed properly or anything like that? possibly the drivers door if you got in drove around and then it was ok?

LOL well honestly ive been having 2 much fun driving a car thats not full of faults that i havent been bothered 2 read most of the manual

I couldnt work out why mine kept coming on and im 2 lazy 2 read the manual but i turned the dial off the white part 2 either the blue or the red and it stopped coming on - but im sure someone can come up with a much better answer than that

My old car used to do stuff like that all the time :-( annoying intermittent problems - i hope in this case it was just the message centre messing up

Alls i can say is i thought Allen Ford were a pain in the * * * * but after reading some of these stories on here lately they actually sound quite good I know the hear he/she is again look as my last focus went in SO many times but actually instead of getting * * * * off they did actually get more helpful

They have an excess of £500 at mine but if you pay £5.50 you get the insurance with no excess

Sorry for being REALLY thick here but i dont understand why you had a cover note from your insurance for their car? When i had my car from Allen Ford while mine was in i just sign their form and im insured until i take it back Cant believe they reversed it into a tree though!
