It is much quieter (almost as quiet as a petrol) and smoother, and seems to warm up quicker. If they made an all alloy version, it would be bang on IMO. The 2006 refresh connect (New style radio in the dash, the over riders from the front bumper has been removed, new grill with a flip Ford logo over the bonnet lock) has the redesigned engine, and it is very impressive to drive. From idle up to the limiter, it has boost, thanks to its variable geometry turbo.
