  1. If a battery is dead then the car will not run with the battery jump pack disconnected, as the alternator needs some juice in the battery for it to work. Leave the battery pack connected, and run the car at a steady 2000rpm for 10-15 mins, and that should enable you to remove the pack.
  2. Common fault I'm afraid. I see a few electric seats in bits in the workshop at work. I prefer the good old lever and shuv seats!
  3. If you think the wiring is bad, wait until the next big refresh from Ford, where the stereo has just negative and live, and all other sound and data is carried on the can bus to a separate amplifier.
  4. True, but they mysteriously find work that needs doing when they do come in though. Benefit one way, then get penalised another way. Personally I find that long service intervals are bad, as faults can go unnoticed for longer.
  5. Nope! Dealers depend too much on keeping the workshops full with cars in for service!
  6. Why did ford remove the EGR system on its petrols if it causes damage?
  7. Ouch, that cant be right. I get 34/37 MPG from my 2.0 petrol Focus! I would take the car back to the dealer if I was you.
  8. I live in the middle of the countryside, and I've never needed a 4x4, and my mum who was born in the house I live in had a mini, and never got stuck! Contrary to popular belief, the countryside does have tarmacced roads, and we arent all farmers!
  9. I dont care what anyone says, more drive train and a heavier physically larger vehicle = more fuel consumed.
  10. We sell them at work, and their not bad, but dont really detect much near the corners of the bumper! They are also a pain to get the wires to the light cluster on cars where the numberplate is in the bootlid.
  11. Is yours a 1.6 or a 1.6 PFi VCT?
  12. Would be nice to have a few other makes in here on the Focus platform, but it would be important to keep the 'Focus' on the Ford Focus. :) I was once a member of the FEOC (Ford Escort Owners Club) and that has now been turned into the Ford Enthusiasts Owners Club, albeit it has took a step backwards with the design of the club website and forum, with basic default forum skins etc.
  13. If anything we shouldbe allowed on the Volvo forums as the emgine and chassis platform they have designed were out long before we got our hands on it. no Citroen/ Fiat engines in Fords mate i would like to know where you got your info from though fella  Fiat have used PSA (Peugeot/Citroen) engines in the past and present along with Suzuki, Alfa Romeo, Citroen, Land Rover, Mazda, and BMW Mini.
  14. And to think that Fords were praised in the past for having high level brake lights to improve visibility of them. The high up lights increases the load width of the boot due to the light clusters not impeding into the boot opening.
  15. In that case, we could allow Volvo owners on here, as that shares the same platform, and the same engine in the ST! Oh, and we can welcome Peugeot, Citroen, and Fiat diesel owners as well, as they share the same engines!
  16. Sorry to disagree but these days with Maxs and newer foci, key programming or more correctly 'vehicle education' about new keys is a dealer only job and a rip off to boot. Bob I thought that only applied to keys? Oh well, Ford have raped us again.
  17. Even if you cant find a badge, programming a new fob is really easy, DIY!!
  18. That looks gorgeous for a Diesel!! To fit a ST exhaust would be a pain though, as the real ST has the spare wheel well cut out and a blanking plate put over to be able to fit the huge car wide ST backbox. You would need to go via a custom exhaust route. It wont be that expensive, as all you need to do is join the twin exit exhaust off the exhaust pipe that goes over the rear axle.
  19. Those new wheels are actually wheel trims, but the steel wheel is designed to completely hide behind the trim spokes. This fools allot of people into thinking it has alloys. Good design IMO!
  20. I dont beleive one word or picture in Auto Express. They really know ******* all!!
  21. Yep, Ford used to use its own Ford transporters, or ANSA that sometimes sub contracted to sensible transport etc. Ford Use MCD for the connects, rangers, galaxys and s-max's. I hope they dont use MCD for it all, as theyre paperwork is a ballache. Individual Delivery Note for each vehicle, that needs to be individually signed, with a carbon copy on each to be seperated. Ford/Ansa use 1 A4 delivery note with each chassis number on it for each delivery address. Some transporter drivers can be right arrogant fat * * * *, and I sometimes walk away from them and leave them to it. I dont care if it
