  1. I reckon around 90% of comments I've read from new owners have been very positive. A few people who've test driven or looked at it in a showroom said they didn't like it. Fair enough, thats up to them. But if you read comments from peeps who actually own one it would seem they're very pleased with it. :D
  2. Just to lay any "not as spacious as Mk1" comments to rest..... Front headroom: Mk1=995mm, Mk2=999mm Max front legroom: Mk1=1095, Mk2=1108 Max front shoulderoom: Mk1=1358, Mk2=1414 Rear headroom: Mk1=982, Mk2=999 Min rear legroom: Mk1=882, Mk2=853 Max rear shoulderoom: Mk1=1362, Mk2=1399 :D
  3. This option isn't available in the UK as yet but it's definitely possible as I've seen a German spec focus with them on. I'm only going on the way they look but I have a quite strong suspicion that the wing mirror housing is the same as the mondeo (which in Ghia spec upwards in the UK has them as standard). Maybe you could speak to someone who knows a bit about wiring and whether you could transfer some mondeo 1's to a focus? Doubtless it'll be horrifically expensive though!
  4. Usually dealers pre-register cars to pick up monstor registration bonuses from the manufacturer. But as I write there aren't any bonuses on new focus, so i imagine it'd be hard to find a pre-reg UK focus, I can only speculate some of the pre-reg's available must be imports. Beware just because you are the 1st owner on the logbook does not necessarily mean it is a UK sourced car. I've come across several part-exchanges that show as being imports on HPI and the V5 shows only 1 owner - and an import WILL be worth less money. Wouldn't necessarily put anyone off buying a pre-reg, just make su
  5. I think it is a little better, as it has a rubber bit on the bottom so you can put things in it and there'll be half a chance they'll stay there rather than sliding around!
  6. WDS = Worldwide Diagnostic System It's a clever bit of kit ford technicians plug your car into for software updates, fault finding etc. TSB = Technical Service Bulletin Issued by Ford for fixes to known faults.
  7. What a f*****! Sorry to hear it, hope you get it all sorted quickly and without too much hassle.
  8. Engines are pre-run in factory now, so no real need to run them in. That said, it's best practice to try not taking beyond 4000rpm for the 1st few thousand miles. Brakes should be ok after around 1000 miles but depends on what kind of driving you do. If it's gentle braking around town maybe a little longer, if your braking relatively hard exiting motorways etc. then a bit quicker.
  9. My advice: Say nothing and they'll probably let it go. If they do want the extra £100, refuse and insist on having the wheels you ordered fitted.
  10. Nope - It's the same as the the 115ps 1.8TDCi in the old Focus and its 16 valve. Only difference is it's now euro stage iv compliant. Feel sure it's only been re-introduced owing to the unprecedented diesel demand. Not necesarrily a bad thing though - it's a cracking engine, and is well tested/reliable.
  11. I know for sure the ignition on a left hand drive 2005 Focus is on the right of the steering coloumn the same as our right hookers - I've driven one! I agree the reasoning for putting it in the wrong place in the ad is for a better shot - just thought it was strange and if anyone else had noticed.
  12. They are SO wrong! The focus isn't built in Belgium at all - the Mondeo is. (Genk to be exact)
  13. Wonder if anyone else has noticed this..... In one of the current Focus ad's, the designer blokes flunky starts the car by turning the key which for some reason seems to be located on the left of the steering coloumn rather than the right! BTW - Please no comments on how cack the focus ads are - I know!  Made all the more irritating by the fantastic ad for the Golf V GTi.
  14. It's not limited production - 1500 are to be built in May. Thereafter as supply/demand dictates.
  15. Agreed its strange - 17's on the old shape look pretty big. On the new model 17's barely fill the arches! Good excuse to get 19's on there eh?!
  16. I'd say the reason it's been introduced is because a LOT of people who buy cars aren't (believe it or not!) really interested in having a sporty suspension set up but would still like alloy wheels and fog lights. Bear in mind it also gives a lower price point and cheaper insurance etc. It's all about offering a choice really. Ford want to have all the angles covered and not leave a customer any reason to choose another brand.
  17. 2005 Zetec has 16" wheels as standard, and the Sport will form part of the standard model line-up. (i.e It's not a special edition)
  18. Hi all, Just to let you know I recieved a memo yesterday stating that the "Sport" derivative will be launched ahead of schedule. There are 1500 being built in May, which should be ready for delivery in June. For those not in the know, the Sport is basically an LX but with the addition of 16" steel wheels that LOOK like alloys, fog lights and 3 spoke steering wheel.
  19. Difficult to say without seeing it, but I believe there's every chance that could be an excess of lacquer rather than rust or actual paint bubbling. Regardless, it still shouldn't be there - don't blame you if you want to reject the car. But I'd also say that whether your in the right or not rejecting a car can be a real nightmare and it's possibly so easily fixed (and without respraying) it might actually be a lot easier for you all round if it was repaired. Obviously it's totally up to you, just thought I'd add my thoughts.
  20. Yup, that link works and it is indeed to de-activate the interior scan.
  21. Your link doesn't work but.... 1) I'm betting the button your talking about is to de-activate the interior scan alarm - it's for using if you leave a pet etc. in the car. 2) You have been supplied the wrong manual - go ask your dealer to swap it!
  22. If you want a quick way to turn it off (bear in mind this only works for 1 ignition cycle) just plug in and unplug your belt 3 times in within about 10 seconds.
  23. I think the Ghia will be around for a while yet as the Titanium/Titanium-X generally seem to be appealing to people who want a contemporary look and feel around the interior. The reason Titanium was introduced was because Ford's customer surveys came to the earth shattering conclusion that some buyers would like the luxury Ghia features combined with the sportier image of Zetec. But there's still loads of people who want the more traditional (IMHO plasti-wood) feel of the Ghia. Don't forget that Ford have used the Ghia badge for a VERY long time on a LOT of different models. It'd be crazy
  24. lol Did you know the answer really and were just testing me?
