its really easy to be honest, took me 30 mins :) only problem I have now is way too many wires behind my headunit and it takes * * * * ages to get it back in :D

You dont get a basic variable dimming control for the instrument cluster dials? I have a zetec and I have dimming control :< maybe that has changed for the facelift though

Make friends with a local mechanic, I got a friend to do mine for my first oil change and next time I am gonna give it a go, bear in mind you do need the right tools for the job since the car does need to be lifted quite high for you to get the undertray off and so on.

I cant get it done for free so im gonna have to do it myself ;p

Everytime I break I hear a creek/squeak/squeal coming from inside the car, id say it was coming from underneath the center console next to the gearstick or its the passenger seat. any idea what this could be? Been doing a lot of work under the center console recently.

To see if you have the same noise as mine, try opening the door while driving (carefully) see if it stops, mine does!

I get a rattle in my mk2 door was gonna do the same as you, will probably have a go in the week sometime so if I find anything will post ;)

I found a ground point with two cables connected to it on the passenger side of the book, quite far behind. I thought sharing grounds was a bad idea but its the only place ive found :(. It was closer to the outside than the inside, below the boot opening mechanism arm thingys. That what you meant?

I get a horrible creak sounds like its just below the window on drivers side, considering going in there and having a quick play about. It * * * *s me right off. A little one in the dash sometimes aswell...like above the back of the radio bay.

Just removed my zetec spoiler for the st spoiler and there is a black strip going down the top of my car of where the sealant used to be, I am struggling to take this off can anyone suggest anything? thanks Gazz

Right, Ive just done the power cable feed and I have couple of questions! How is the battery end of the cable going to connect to my battery pin since the pin is far too big for the connector at the end of power cable. Im about to wire my phono leads through and I was wondering if I should do the remote lead aswell? Also how do you guys fix the amp in place? and the sub? Thanks Gazz

Right ive just finished installing it, everything works :p I am a little worried about water getting in there though :s

Thanks, I didnt get any instructions but I did get the extension pipe I "think" and I got the loom just without the right adapter. Thanks a lot :)

Jamz you might be able to help me with something else, I have the ST spoiler and I have removed my normal zetec spoiler but to connect it I need to solder the wires because of different fitment, but what about the washer, does anything need to be changed with that?

so how do I do it? Power - Amp, Headunit - Amp, Amp - Sub?

Got myself this kit: http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/produc ... /5783.html I have read various guides on how to set this up and I think I should be ok with getting power to my amp and sub but is there cables in the Autoleads PC4-20 wiring kit for connecting the amp and sub together and my amp to my headunit or will I have to get them separately?

I like the rear diffuser, is there one for the mk2?

I can imagine!! I dont think im willing to fork out that much money and boot space, my headunit on full at the moment is too loud so a bit of bass will make it all fit nicely into my life I think. Il probably go for a cheapish amp and quite an expensive sub, 50-100 I guess. I would love to hear your car in the flesh though ;D

I have a good Alpine (4*50W amp) headunit and the ford speakers are pretty good, the only thing I think im lacking is a good subwoofer. I originally wanted something like http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... ryrn_98180 but someone mentioned a box is generally a better idea, though I didnt really want to lose the space that much! Can anyone suggest a good subwoofer? Also the cabling route from the battery to the boot for the MK2 would be nice to know ;)

and your gonna put the 3 spoke leather steering wheel in? Must say Donovan your pretty good at doing things to your car :p Wish I had that much drive to do these fidly things.
