  1. dunno how ford comes up with their prices lol.. surely each side is identical? just reversed asif looking in a mirror:S... same amount of plastic, same shape lol... same weigt probably even. They half do some funny things.. like today I went in the dealer to get a new clip that holds the drivers car mat in position.. those bits which connect to the chassis 1 end, then the mat locks in place on the other end. anyway.. bearing in mind 2 are required to hold the mat in place, and they are only small bits of plasic.. and saw the price was around £4.50 I said to myself thats not too bad for
  2. lol, + a little.. with them it will probably come out at £130 at the end of the day. do you have IDS then?, where abouts are you located? and just a quick question, but any idea why ford dont just enable this out of the factory in the first place? if everything is already there and in place:S.. rather than charging £50 for it as an option.. bit of a rip off really considering it doesnt cost them anything extra anyway. Hopefully i should have everything required, I have the dvd sat nav unit so ive got the cluster with large display which i assume is what you are referring to as level 2.
  3. if the rear lights are anything to go by, Level 1 is the standard rear lights, and level 2 is the LED.. so based on this with the clusters I would imagine, From what i could find out, Level 1 is basically the old mk2 type cluster and level 2 is the new version with the small red information display and level 3 is the new version with the large red information display for the sat nav See image, Top one is the level 1, bottom 1 is level 2, level 3 isnt illustrated because its basically the same style as the level 2, just with a bigger screen, for automatics and sat nav.. but it is
  4. lol, seeming as you live near southend, do you think Essex Ford would do that for me? knowing them though will probably charge me £90 for the privelidge of 1 hours labour lol
  5. Hi, does that mean my car will already have it then? and ford were charging money just to enable the system? if the system is already in place:S i dont know why ford didnt just shove it on as standard, instead of charging to make it an option. My car should already have a level 2 cluster as its the high sat nav version. do you have any details on what needs configuring/updating? Already have an external temperature sensor.
  6. ford focus doesnt use that system as far as I know.. new mondeo though does. Focus uses the DDS which just detects if 1 wheel is travelling a smaller distance than the other caused by deflation, and mondeo uses TPMS which monitors the tyre pressures
  7. Hi, does anybody know how this system works? I always assumed it was done through the ABS module, detecting a deflation of a tyre. But after going through the various ABS modules available with the parts guy, theres only 1 ABS module listed for all the focus with ESP, Traction control, ABS and its the same for every model, including the ST. only others listed are the RS version, and the version without ESP, Traction control.. so the DDS cant be reliant on a different variant of the part. So I looked at cluster versions, and again found them to be the same accross the range. only vari
  8. lol, it was a really steep hill as well.
  9. generally the 2.0 diesel is economical yep:) lol although on saying that, ive managed to get it down to about 12mpg at 1 point lol.
  10. how about an RS engine and guts? lol theres now an off the shelf kit to take it up to 370bhp.
  11. the deflation detection was recently added as standard equipment as was the cruise control.. ford are gearing down now on the mk2.5 so they can get ready for the next focus next year.. the mk3. so they reconfigured the standard options and made tonnes of stuff that was optional standard, so they can reduce the available options making the logistics of manufacturing the cars simpler... as far as i know on the new 1s just being built now, they have also added keyfree and ford power start as standard. as for the amount of washer fluid its slightly more than 3 litres.. probably around 3.5 be
  12. Hi, for anybody who is interested in the parts required.. or has a wallet deep enough to do it lol, just foun this as it was something I was interested in looking at. Taken from the FocusSTOC, originally published by the user, s2-st170 so all credit goes to that user. Cant gaurantee its a complete list but looks pretty comprehensive. Prices Exclude VAT apparently. 1x 1463304 remote control receiver, keyfree system, with keyless start £52.68p 1x 1357981 remote with keyless start £52.87p 2x 1491521 outer door handle, power door dead lock w/elec release, keyfree system £183.32p
  13. ST engine also wouldnt be a straight swap due to the exhuast pipe arrangements.. so it would be a tonne of work.
  14. you will probably only be able to go up to the 2.0 diesel or 2.0 petrol engines. Engine mounting locations would be standard I imagine so ford can keep manufacturing costs down...but you would need, engine, gearbox, driveshfts, engine loom and ECU. As said previously you would also need to upgrade your brakes for bigger engines, 2.0 use 300mm disks on the front, 2.5 ST uses 360mm disks if i can remember correctly. ST, and RS 5 cylinder engines will also go in, but you wont be able to use the genuine ford exaust because the spare wheel well is in the way, on the RS and ST there is no spare w
  15. as far as I know, nope, its designed to come out from under the wheel arch.. so probably will require the wheel and wheel arch liner to be removed to gain proper access and removal. Something I want to try and do when the weather warms up abit lol because I want to know if i can retrofit a washer fluid sensor, and if I can.. will it work. Annoying thing though is it probably will work but its yet another thing that requires enabling inside IDS.. seriously considering buying an IDS unit, even though they are outrageously expensive,.. just cant stand the fact that whenever you want to do any
  16. definitely takes more than a quarter of a bottle. I buy them 5 litre bottles from halfords and when its run out in the past its taken at least 3/4 of the bottle to refill it to the very top so it holds just under a gallon i reckon.
  17. dunno lol, Its a July 2008 Titanium so i dont know if they will fit 1 now lol. just completely baffled why some cars seem to have it and others dont.
  18. Hi, does anybody know if this can be retrofitted? It seems to be very much a case of hit or miss if this feature is installed as some people seem to have it, and others dont. I unfortunately are one of the people who doesnt:( and twice now ive run out of washer fluid.
  19. Rather than xenons id guess, adaptive headlights.
  20. hi, ABS doesnt work effectively on Ice/snow unless tied with traction control. and the grinding noise would be the wheels locking up and skidding over the ice, because as the locked wheels move forward they tend to compress the ice/snow underneath and crush it. which is what creates the noise,=,, even though you have the ABS it will still lock and release the wheel in a controled manner to try and find grip.
  21. dunno, lol, mine is a 2008 mk2.5 Titanium and doesnt have them:(
  22. did they? cant say ive seen them on my mk2.5 titanium:S
  23. can you even do that on the facelift version? i dont think ive seen that option.
  24. I agree, lol was thinking of trying to change it to a dark blue, light blue for the orange, and dark blue for the red.. much more appropriate lol
