  1. np, lol talking about getting the most from your car lol.. doubt i will actually do it, but i found its possible to retrofit 4WD lol.. alot of it just bolts on.
  2. if you do.. ask pic hacker how its done first. not yet, i wanted the low washer fluid sensor lol and wanted to order another front loom for that... also looking for the cruise control steering wheel with airbag.. then pichacker can enable the lot for me then.
  3. this isnt something your dealer will probably be able to do btw.. they wont have a clue, and ford wont help them. will need to contact pichacker. IDS is the dealer diagnostic software.. and uses a VCM to communicate with the car. no hidden menus, lol requires module reconfiguration.
  4. ive still gotta buy another alloy for mine lol
  5. a small family run ford dealer that isnt VAT registered?.. that does seem odd... seeming they would probably only have to shift a few brand new cars to be up to the VAT registration threshold.. also if they are a proper ford dealer they should have the ford dealer equipment lol I ended up paying nearly £200 for my 1 key:S.. which was extortionate lol that was blade, remote, and programming.
  6. it would be an hours work yep. not because of the coding the key as such... but whenever you put your car into a dealer.. they seem to do this Check Sheet thingy... im sure you must of seen one before.. they report back condition of tyres and alsorts... they say its "free" but i think its worked in with the price. Coding the key, they just need to plug it into IDS via a VCM.. then they give a reason.. say adding more keys, get the OutCode.. shove it through ETIS/OASIS+ then that returns an InCode which they re-enter into IDS, which then allows them to link the keys to the car.. maybe 20 mi
  7. even with IDS they cant do keys.. they need InCodes which can only be got through ford ETIS using an outcode. Are ways around it, but most garages probably wont do it that way. Locksmiths.. some of them can "clone" the key which is supposed to work, but ive never had any experience with that method so I dont know lol
  8. you cant 100% programme keys yourself, just program the remote to the car so you can unlock and lock the car etc,. but it wont start lol ford removed this feature on the MK2 Focus
  9. disks, hubs, calipers, pads, handbrake cables, flexible brake hoses thats all I can think of lol.
  10. nope they probably wont know. DVD sat nav they will but not the sony headunit normally.
  11. software can be updated yep.. Pichacker would probably know.. I did message him about it a while back but the message still remains unread lol. and I agree, I like the factory look, its a bit offputting if you sel the car and its been chopped about as well... so I even pay the extra for proper wiring looms instead of modifying the existing ones.
  12. no it wont work on the MK2 or MK2.5.. ford took away this capability.. now have to go back to the dealer, and even then thye need incodes and stuff from ford.
  13. missed the word "titanium" but on the titanium yours probably had the wiring already there but taped up:S
  14. will try and get the pictures working. There are pictures, but I cant seem to get them to copy accross lol but bear with me do you have messenger? if you want to correct the installation it maybe easier to help you over there.
  15. ok, you used the fiesta wiring loom.. although cheaper that was a mistake.. you can still use it.. but you need to alter the pin configuration, like Artillaryman had to which involves disassembling the multiplug connector and swapping wires around and stuff. Also, bear in mind that theres a different jumper loom for the pre facelift focus, as there is for the facelift focus.,, so facelift 1 is different to pre-facelift again. Fiesta loom is the same as the pre-facelift loom.. but with shorter mic wires. however the facelift focus loom is alot different, because the facelift uses the BV
  16. PLEASE NOTE... for USB FITMENT ONLY, and IF YOU HAVE THE BLUETOOTH VOICE CONTROL MODULE ALREADY, or BVC wiring in the car Compatibility ALL BLAUPUNKT DVD SAT NAV VARIANTS, if you require updating, please see how to on doing so. SONY GENERATION 2 OVAL TYPE HEADUNITS... Version 5 onwards. This is the parts listing for just USB fitment Some images taken from another thread by another user. 17. Aux,.... NOOOO thats wrong! lol I dont have a how to on here.. but on another forum I have to keep on protesting about it. do not unplug that connector from the back of the headunit! did you have the wiring for the bvc module? or did you have to buy the bit of loom to retrofit it? 1 and 6 i think, on sony headunits.. need version 5 or later. if you already have the connector for the BVC module.. I hope you arent going to say next you used the fiesta AUX cable? thats wrong.
  18. did you check your headunits software version? 2008 focus with sony headunits.. at least the earlier ones are a bit hit or miss if the headunit software supports the usb. voice control is most likely a requirement for IDS..not everybody seems to need it though for some reason. Did you have a bluetooth module previously? if you did.. you dont need the configuration and something else is probably at fault. but usb should work. pairing you should be able to do though... which way are you pairing? headunit to phone? or phone to headunit? that should also work. when you retrofitted.. if y
  19. sorry for off-topic, but what's a Mk2.1? Does this perhaps explain why my 57-plate Mk2 has white and red lighting for the dials, when the courtesy car I had (06 plate) was green (and frankly, not nearly as nice 8) )? the .1 stands for a technical term called "Stage 1" the reason it had white and red lighting is because, despite it being in the MK2 style thats a MK2.5 Cluster.. they used the red ones in the Focus Studio before they dropped it... and theres also a possibility that all the electronics in the car are also the facelift.. and why the headunit is the later/newer Sony Generation
  20. can be activated by a dealer using IDS. Although finding a dealer that knows how, or is willing to take the risk is another matter. But ford got wind of it beign done and took it out of IDS.. so it can now only be done if the dealer hasnt updated their software. its disabled because there was an issue where theres a possibility it "may not" unlock the doors in the event of an accident.
  21. thats not normal though.. they had ballsed something up with the adjuster on the drum... 1 of 2 things could of happened.. and maybe gandalf will come along and give a better explanation lol. but, it could be the friction where it was binding has worn the shoes down...not hugely likely. but depends how much it was binding. other is that its just self adjusted itself which has corrected the problem.. but id still take it back, because that wasnt right and if I was you Id want it pulled apart again and rechecked.. they are your brakes after all! and a failure would be quite serious.
  22. sounds like they didnt adjust them up properly, or messed up something on the self adjuster.
  23. thats why I dont trust Garages:) lol only person working on my car is me. sounds like they have made a right mess of your brakes.. disks/drums on the back?
  24. 2.1 should have alot of the MK2.5 wiring..because you know how they changed the cluster from green to red? well the exact same cluster was then used on the MK2.5 Focus Sudio version before they dropped it, and it can be a co-incidence they also changed the sony headunit to the newer style eigther... wouldnt be much point revising the interior about 6 months before a new model comes out lol.. so the more likely explanation is they was using the facelift electrical system. obviously i cant be 100% and thats just a guess but it seems logical. C-Max will have the same steering wheel as it wa
