  1. Hi, these connectors were found on the left hand side of the back seat behind the plastic trim that goes up the side.. on a MK2.5 Does anybody know what they are for? im completely stumped.. they was just taped up. I cant even think of anything that would normally be installed halfway up the back seat on the left hand side lol.. its in such an odd place. They arent for the 12v power point, because they are the wrong connectors.. and i found those already in the boot.
  2. must be all of them then lol, there used to be a model below that called the studio.. hopefully thats been dropped now, was so basic it wasnt even worth bothering with. but the chrome lower grill, and chrome strip at the back on the tailgate/boot.. those were only on the titanium, rest were colour coded, or in the case of the lower grill just had a plain bit of plastic
  3. Exterior trim, its held on with a couple of clips, and what ford call "Tape" its like a rubberised tape. if your clips are damaged, then the "Tape" alone wont properly hold it in place.. as it was never reallyd esigned to hold it completely.. actually replaced 1 of those myself a few weeks ago (black exterior trim panel) they are around £25 new and come with the "Tape" pre applied.. so u just break the old 1 off, and put the new 1 on, ensuring its pressed completely home so it doesnt pop off again.. check that first it might just need pressing in properly.. i had problems with the back do
  4. only on the titanium and Zetec as far as I know, chrome lower grill surround, and boot chrome strip.. titanium only.. rest was just colour coded.
  5. CD Player is not an accurate guide on if you have a MK2. or MK2.5 Reason being.. around 57 plate, ford updated the instrument cluster with the new Red.. in the old design.. which is known as a Level 1 cluster, electronics in the car was all basically the new facelift stuff.. and the sony headunits were the new rounded oval shaped ones.. on a pre facelift... as above its actually known as the MK2.1.. kind of an intermediate version/crossover between the 2.. with the MK2 exterior and interior trim.. but MK2.5 electronics, headunit, cluster etc. BUT Level 1 cluster.. which looks the same as the
  6. heres the differences between the MK2 and MK2.5 maybe worth somebody pinning this information? 2005 pre facelift, 2008 Facelift  every body panel was changed on the facelift, except the roof panel, front and rear bumpers were also changed. new door mirrors, integrated indicators.. moved from the wings (previously indicators only in door mirrors on the ST and Ghia Trim.. but door mirror design was completely different.) privacy glass at the rear now optional  New headlamps in the Kinetic Design philosophy style Ghia trim dropped on
  7. to change it from F to C.. put it on the temperature display. then hold the button on the end of the stalk in... that should change it.
  8. i struggle to get 40mpg even on motorway runs. Actually do alot of motorway driving, but my average miles per gallon never goes over 39mpg:S which i find odd because when i brought the thing it used to be around 47-48 when i did my first few trips down the motorway.. but now its really low. I know diesel engines take time to loosen up, but the things nearer to 28k now, and i regularly change the oil, run it on premium fuel. I dont even drive that fast, and dont keep speeding up and slowing down because if i see somebody driving slower infront i tend to plan ahead move over into the next
  9. reason why its so expensive to turbo a car which doesnt have 1 is, 1) lots of custom work, like exhuast manifold, downpipe, intercooler mounting points etc, oil feed and return pipes. 2) compression ideally needs lowering, which would mean headwork/new pistons with a lower compression ratio.. which means your then looking at an engine rebuild.
  10. nope. wont charge your ipod.. needs the usb connection for that. will just go into the headphone jack
  11. i worked out the cost of doing that though was too much. lol would be looking at nearly a £400 bill to have it double serviced. and u cant just have it serviced by a local garage, because although that maintains the cars mechanical warranty..it voids the 12 year paintwork warranty.
  12. fair enough, lol pretty much same here.. ive been changing it every 6-10k or so.. which is well within fords allowance, but havent had the time or money to spare. so they will void my warranty lol for looking after the servicing better than their service schedules.
  13. they dont, but when you go to make a claim they turn around and say they wont pay out. you went 24k miles on the original oil from the factory? lol
  14. sorry for the poor quality lol only got my phone camera and its dark outside now.
  15. 2 screws that need undoing to release part of the centre console plastic trim. The nut for adjusting the handbrake cable.
  16. its easy, inside the car all you do is open the armrest, undo the 2 torz screws at the front then pull up the plastic trim on the centre console that was previously held down by the 2 torx screws.. pull the gaitor over the handbrake handle as you remove the trim. then underneath there theres a nut just tighten it to adjust the handbrake
  17. i didnt do that (extend the warranty) lol hopefully not.. I mean fords are pretty reliable. and if you look after the oil/filter changes then the engine will generally go on and on.. but even when it goes wrong most of the parts arent too expensive.. which is why I came to the conclusion.. for the sake of 18 months warranty its not even worth me trying to keep it in tact.. would cost me over £300 to preserve it lol because id have to buy £100 worth of stuff (filters, and fluids) then pay £110 for the local garage to service it and write a lower mileage in the book.. then take it to ford
  18. in terms of months, mines not even 2 years yet. but im actually over 2000 miles overdue now.. so ive just said sod it... will get it serviced so hopefully that will maintain the perforation warranty. but in regards to the mechanical warranty it only has 18 months left on it.. and if its going to cost me like £300 and alot of hastle trying to maintain the warranty its not worth it, alot of components are under £300. and ive changed the oil every 6k miles or so, so regardless of what ford think ive maintained the car... so if its going to fail somewhere it wont be because of overdue oil
  19. just found this,.. I know its to do with the transit but i imagine its similar still. "Shipping Mode: The Transit Connect is assembled in Kocaeli, Turkey and shipped to the US. The vehicle is placed in shippingmode at the completion of production to reduce the drain on the battery. Before being transported to the dealer network, theshipping mode is turned off. In the event that the shipping mode is still enabled, the integrated circuit display indicates SHON" Also read another possibility is that it limits the revs for transporting on and off of transporters.. but id guess that possibility
  20. found this post by pichacker.. lol actualy on another forum but its the same guy as on here.. and he works at fords technical research place. "On the Focus II if you see "Ship Mode" or words to that effect when attempting to get into engineering test mode key off and try again. Don't be tempted to change the setting. You'll cause yourself no end of problems."
  21. seen mine come on about twice... 2.0 TDCi... was accidental.. I dont purposely rev to the red line.. think on 1 occasion I changed into the wrong gear and the revs just shot up into the red.. and another time I was leaning around to get something from the back and accidently pressed the accelerator. normally most I rev to is 4000 and thats only when pulling out of the petrol station or something so i can get up to speed quickly.. otherwise normally most i hit is 3000 lol its not so much a shift light.. more the rev limitor on the engine. ST though is a shift light, so also has a torque l
  22. lol, I will probably do that as well at some point. Dash though looking at it.. shouldnt be too hard to get out, because it seems to be a split dash.. you only remove the fronthalf with the soft touch foam on.. the back half is separate. Because I looked into it before.. you dont even have to remove the steering wheel.. or column.
  23. thats not so bad though lol.. you didnt have to pull the dash out, just plastic trim mainly. engine bay loom wraps around the engine goes behind the dash and stuff and you have to pull tonnes of stuff apart to change it.. wasnt really designed to be changed outside of manufature lol.
