  1. Furthest trip in mine was when I bought it - Crawley to central Scotland in the pouring rain.
  2. Very nice Dave - quite similar to mine!
  3. P.S. Where about in Scotland are you?
  4. Very nice! I like the front grille - what make is it/where did you get it? Cheers oobster
  5. http://www.ffoc.co.uk/modules.php?name= ... c&t=211859 Also - a couple of places i've just checked say the Mondeo ST220 alloys are 7.5J so a bit thinner than your 8J alloys. Which ones did you get? Lastly! I went for Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta XL tyres (you need to get the extra-load ones) from Elite - I think they were £345 delivered.
  6. Hi stu - I have just put the Mondeo ST220 alloys on my car, they are 18" but I don't know the offset. I put 225/40 tyres on them, and my car is also lowered on the eibach springs and I dont get any rubbing, even on full lock. Pics of my car are in the Forecourt section - thread title is something like 'My Aquaruis Blue Ghia'.
  7. I took the car into Peoples Falkirk this morning - great service by the way - and they had it fixed pretty quickly. The 'cable' (I assume it's a metal rod?) between the temperature control knob and the heater box had become disconnected right behind the dash. Dunno how that could have happened - I haven't been rooting around inside the dash - but no matter, it's fixed now (under warranty). The journey down to Falkirk this morning was freezing though!
  8. Cheers revoltos. The car is only a year and a half old, would the repair be covered under warranty? I read somewhere that all items are covered for the 1st year but the 2nd and 3rd year of the warranty only cover certain parts? Also - is this likely to be a dash-out job? I'm obviously wanting this fixed but I worry the mechanics won't remove stuff as carefully as I would, and things will end up scratched.
  9. Folks, The heater on my MK2 2.0TDCI Ghia is not working - it's not blowing out any hot or warm air at all. The fan is working fine though, and the Air Conditioning is working fine too. Any ideas? Cheers Andy
  10. Just off the phone to Camskill (and Elite) - order with Camskill cancelled & I should be getting the same tyres (i.e the XL version) off Elite tomorrow for £73 less than what Camskill was charging me! Cheers guys.
  11. ST Jon - I think that price at Elite is for the non-XL versions.
  12. Aye they seem to get a good name (Camskill that is) - although I ordered my tyres late yesterday afternoon (4pm, Wednesday) and I was told the tyres wont arrive by courier until Monday.
  13. Decided to go for the Vredestein Ultrax Sessantas from Camskill - hopefully arriving on Monday. Went for the XL version. Hopefully get them fitted to my brand-new ST220 alloys early next week.
  14. Actually, I think I now know the answer to that - the sidewall of the existing 17" tyres say Extra Load on them so I'm pretty confident i'll need the XL version of the 18" tyre too.
  15. Thanks for that link - do I need the XL versions though (with the slightly stiffer sidewalls?)
  16. Folks, I've just bought a set of 18" wheels for my 2.0 TDCI Mk2 and now I need to decide on which tyres to go for. I don't drive the car particularly hard (i'm 37, with a one-year old daughter so fairly sensible!) but from browsing other car forums online the Goodyear F1 Assymetrics and the Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas seem to get good reviews. Any thoughts? Size will be 225/40 18. Cheers! oob
  17. I've got the same colour car as you & I got the whole surround done. I got a bodyshop to do it in order to get the nice smooth finish. Looks nice!
  18. Aye I did PM him but he reckoned he had someone local interested. The insides of the spokes on his wheels are painted black, I think i'd prefer the wheels without the black. Cheers though!
  19. Really nice wheels, i'm considering getting a set for mine shortly (if anyone has a set for sale please let me know!). 30mm drop will be fine, it won't be too much in my opinion.
  20. Yep, paint the handles the body colour, don't go for chrome.
  21. Aye it's rare nowadays for someone to leave their details. Annoying when it does happen but at least you'll get it fixed properly without having to pay anything.
  22. Have you considered KEI Racing Force 10 alloys? Thats probably what I am going to go for in the spring - they come in Hypersilver (almost like chrome - very shiny) or Hyperblack, which is kinda like smoked chrome. They also do a matt black finish but I dont like that so much. The Hyperblack ones might look good on your silver car - I would definitely try to stretch the budget and get 18's though - fill out the arches that wee touch more.
  23. Yes used the existing one - bodyshop removed it for me then plugged it all back in again when finished. Yes it's a nice smooth finish, matches the surrounding bumper - i'm no bodyshop expert but I guess they will need to use some "high-build" primer (I heard them using this phrase when I got mine done!) so the scratches/chips shouldnt matter. There are pics of mine on the MK2 Gallery thread at the top of the forum.
