  1. No anti-slip matt in my mk2.5 so I got non-slip grip strip....plenty for sale on ebay. works a treat. :)
  2. craigc_foci got my new K&N Filter today...fitted in 10mins no problems at all. Tested with the original filter and the new filter and as ScottyGhia says there is no difference to sound but did take it out for a quick spin and you can tell there is a subtle difference on acceleration. Very please :D :D
  3. As benweston says I also do not feel any loss at all from my 2.0 TDCI I think that an Air Con service will do just that service the air con unit to make sure it's working all ok whereas an Air Con regas will empty the air con gases and re fill them to the top...also you may find they they will check the system over as well. the company I used last year was Cool Air Con and they are mobile as well....all in all they took about 30mins to do a full regas and service :D
  4. I certainly had that in mind to do some form of vid before and after just not sure how to link to the forum thread assume it is same process as linking a photo.....if I have problems I'll let you know and I could email you the vids. Will update later this week.
  5. I have just ordered a replacement filter and should have it by Wed. I'll let you know how it sounds etc.... :D
  6. Slightly more expensive than the cheapest one I would (don't forget the prices I found incl delivery..... :?
  7. I think the idea around putting the holes in the air box makes it sound throaty....never tried it myself so just a theory.
  8. Blimey.....did not think they were that expensive, the scrappy seems cheap in comparision :!: Got to sell a few more things on flebay and then I can buy the K & N Filter - my darling wife will not let me take the money out of our savings :(
  9. Yeah when you start looking at those kind of prices it does start to stack up....wonder if Tezza could get you a air box lid :?:
  10. My foci is an 09 Reg mk2.5 and it does look like the one....had my air filter top off the other day to check mine and it was the same as the one on K & N Filter website - E-2993. If it was me what I would do is to get an Air Filter top from a scrap yard drill the holes in the top and see what it sounds like but keep the standard replacement filter K & N etc... that way if you do not like it you always have the original top to put back on it. I would not be inclined to drill holes in the side of your brand new filter as there would be no protection to small pieces of dirt etc....g
  11. I was thinking of replacing my filter however I'm not wanting the noise so the straight replacement is fine for me :D If you are wanting a straight replacement I have found that these are the cheapest around and all incl delivery...... Part Number for the mk2.5 is E-2993  Performance Filters £42.99  Race Dynamics £43.83  Rude Racing £51.25 Hope this is of some use. Cheers jbeer
  12. Nice...like the pen holder...much better place to have it. My new Power Plug arrived today from the US...... :D
  13. colnes - Glad you managed to get something sorted for your flat spot. Interested to know more about the remap that you got.....from where/cost etc... Lots of great driving around your area (Brother-in-Law lives in Scalby) especially out to the N.York Moors! :D
  14. Interesting......Bluefin that's part of Superchips right and costing around £400. Is this something that can be bought mailorder and installed or should it be done by a pro. Sorry for the ignorance...
  15. just some basic stuff. LED's for the number Plate, lights in the rear footwells, upgrade main beam away from the standard yellow already done side lights but think they need changing to LED's...also thought about a remap but not got a clue what it does etc..
  16. talking of mods etc... just bought my 2nd mod only small but effective...baby steps and all that ....check it out http://www.ffoc.co.uk/modules.php?name= ... highlight=
  17. thanks and good luck in your search for your other bits 'n' pieces :D
  18. Ok thanks. Birmingham to Essex...long trip...might see if anyone locally has one. Did you get yours sorted in the end?
  19. Hi All, Sorry to jump in on the this but I have just bought a mk2.5 Titanium X and was wondering about the DDS. I have checked and I have the Level 2 Cluster and cannot find anything about the DDS in the main menu so I'm assuming this is not switched on and from you guys are saying it should be quiet easy to do as I already have the right cluster and external temp sensor etc.... Not sure what an IDS is...is this the only way of going about switching it on or can it be done via any hidden menus on the main display. Sorry for the dumb questions but a little new to all this with hidden me
  20. colnes - firstly welcomce to ffoc.co.uk I'm afraid it is a known fact that Ford are aware of this but have not openly admitted it and do not have a solution to correct it as the 1.8 is a very old diesel (I think from the days of the Puma). Sorry to bring you this news. :(
  21. Guys thanks for the replies.....would be helpful if they actually added this tip in the Owners Manual (unless I missed it) Cheers. :D
  22. Hi All, I cannot seem to get a mix of Metric and Imperial on the management information display. For instance I currently can only see either Kilometres with Celsius or Miles with Fahrenheit......however I prefer to see Miles and Celsius. Is there anyway via any hidden menus that I can access where I will be able to have this mix of Metric and Imperial? Cheers :D
  23. craigc_foci I believe they are the W5W/501 or 239 bulbs. Haynes Manual has the following instructions: 1) on some models, undo the retaining bolts and pull the lens from the tailgate/boot lid. On othe models using a small flat-bladed screwdriver release the clips and carefully prise the lens from the tailgate. 2) Pull the festoon-type (239) or wedge-type (W5W/501) bulbs from the contacts. 3) Fit the new bulb using a reversal of the removal procedure. Hope this helps. :D
  24. I think the bulb you are after is a W5W or 501 bulb and these are 26.8cm long. Or you could get the bulb out and match it up and measure it as Scottyghia says.....or look on Hellfords, pop the spec of the car in and filter on the dropdown list.
