  1. Didn't know Ford had such technology !
  2. Lovely car Nick ! Looks very classy in Black & oh what a very sumptuous interior. Enjoy !
  3. Had my rear discs and pads changed the other week with the mileage being at 23K. The car had been serviced 8 weeks earlier and I got a clean bill of health for the braking system. Six weeks later, they started to grind which got worse and worse. Booked it into Ford, to be told that the pads were worn down to the metal and had now scoured the discs, so they needed changing as well. Gave me a price of £155. Of course I refused to pay for the pads as I had had the car serviced and was told brakes were fine ............. therefore they had obviously not checked the brakes at the service (god only
  4. Found it ! (just click on the 'auto' section) http://www.muc-off.co.uk/ Sorry guys, as there are a few pictures on there that you will have to suffer. Try squinting!
  5. When I was mountain biking, I used to use a product called 'Muc-Off' which was marvelous as all you had to do was spray on and rinse off. I have heard of people using this for alloy wheels as it is a non-aggresive product that will not strip laquer. Halfords used to sell it from memory. If I remember rightly, this was a citrus based product.
  6. & we wouldn't want you any other way !
  7. You crack me up Mastertech with the tone of your responses !
  8. Nick, Any chance of a photo of this wonderful VW ?
  9. Welcome to the forum 'spookysteve' There's a very helpful chap by the name of Mastertech who I'm sure will be along shortly to advise your best course of action. He is one of Ford's workforce, so really knows his onions! Sorry to hear of your problem. Never had an issue with mine (probably jinxed myself now though) :?
  10. First picture is of the 16" standard Ghia alloy : Second picture is of the optional 17" machined 9spoke alloy like mine, which are probably even worse to clean : I use a combination of soft bristled brush and a strip of rag to get between the spokes. It can take as long to clean the wheels as the rest of the car !
  11. Thanks for that Andy ! ill have a look in the daylight tomorrow.
  12. Yep, sorry Andy, I should have said in my post that ignition was on and headlamps turned on .................. but still nothing. Even had it parked up against a wall to check if level moved. I hope that this will not start wide-spread panic as everyone dashes outside to check their own headlight level adjuster
  13. Have just noticed this evening that the level adjuster on the headlights does not appear to work. To be honest, Ive always left it set to '0' and have never tried it out. I can only presume that I am operating it correctly as god only knows where the manual is. I tried it with engine running and without, but to no avail. Should the adjustment be instant or am I doing something wrong? Thought I better check on here before making a complete * * * * of myself when I come to ring Mr.Ford. Look forward to hearing your comments. Scott
  14. As uscman has noted above, insurers make use of a standard database that was set up with all models of vehicles currently available. Some models, especially 'special editions' occasionally slip through the net. It does make it a real pain when trying to set up insurance via the internet to secure on-line discounts. As uscman say's, dont me tempted to use the nearest available, as the insurance company would probably use this as an excuse to get out of paying up, should the worse happen. This happened to me once on a previous car I owned. I ended up having to ring them up to clarify. They then
  15. We only had a choice of 1 so its Green metalic. Its new but already registered hence why we got it so cheap. Which green (Christ, how nosey am I?) 'Vitro' (light green metallic) or 'Honour' (Dark green metallic) Thinking about it, I'm not sure they still do the Honour Green. Probably replaced it with something along the same lines. Scott
  16. Hope you and the wife enjoy the car David ! Sounds like you got a good deal. I really like the Zetec model as I believe it has a reasonable level of trim for the money. Nice looking alloys as well, that I am told are a damn sight easier to clean than mine. Your wife certainly shoudn't struggle for space compared to the Fusion. Regards, Scott PS. Dont forget to post a picture when you take delivery. I'm as nosey as they come and I'm sure theres plenty of others on here who would like a butchers. By the way, what colour did you go for ?
  17. They dont build em like they used to !
  18. Always best to get different view points. Interesting read that alex1 and refreshing news on the reliability front ! Just doesn't make the decision any easier.
  19. Think you need to be looking at a 1.6TDCi diesel in lieu of the petrol model. Like the other comments, I believe the 1.6 petrol to be a bit under-powered. Even though I went for the 2.0litre TDCi, I drove a few of the 1.6's and was very impressed by the torque in the smaller diesel engine. Good luck in your hunt ! Not sure if it is of interest, but 'Motorpoint' have 55 plate 1.6TDCi Zetec's starting at £10.995. Lowest mileage appears to be 3k. 'Matlock Ford' just have the one.
  20. I believe you can not get hold of them yet, as they are gauging interest prior to manufacturing. In other words, it could be months before they are available for the Mk.2 and C-Max
  21. I know where you are coming from. My last motor was an A3 and the dealer service was second-to-none! So it all came as a bit of a shock when I cam to deal with Ford's answer to customer service (or lack of it)
  22. Nothing here that takes your fancy ? Sorry it's a C-Max !
  23. Have a nosey at this : http://www.ffoc.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=120532 Might cheer you up to think that there are alternative wheel designs on the way!
