  1. he doesn't seem to have a lot of stock but if you search on ebay for Lockwood sill protectors you will find plenty do them. They are good quality.
  2. Oh, I sold the C-Max privately but reluctantly, as mine was problem free, because of change of company car scheme. Got what I paid for it new though, I got a great deal from Hartwells at Oxford from new, so I was very pleased. Still driving the Passat Estate I ended up with, which is very nice of course but I do miss my Max. Which makes it such a shame that people are having problems with them 'cos when they work they are brilliant cars.
  3. Wow, you see Jade Goody? I never looked at her face...... Sail On Sailor, Smiley. lets see ... £32 on ebay. Try http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Superdials-Car ... eZl4QQtZkm
  4. Combination of all three after I saw this babe walking down the street
  5. Heres a picture of Dennis with his actual camera I have never owned one but like a digital stills camera I would list the features you will actually use. Go for a good battery life and a format and interface that fits your home equipment/PC etc. All of them are pretty good nowadays some are over priced but the overall price range gives you bags of choice once you have decided on your criteria
  6. Sorry, I'd dozed off! The cills went with the car. I did post some ictures but they seem to have gone as well.... They were very very good though and definately finished the car off with a touch of class.
  7. Don't listen to him. He claimed the same when he switched before from pine shaped air freshner to a Homer Simpson shaped one. Extra airflow will have an effect on performance and economy though. Thats why the "performance" filters are more porous that the normal ones.
  8. Actually just replacing a faulty part does not end a suppliers responsibility. If the same fault reappears then it has not been fixed. Time and when it fails after that fix after the warranty is the key here of course but a supplier, dealer, has the total responsibility. Its not fair, I'll give you that, as Ford are ultimately to blame but thats why Ford have dealers ...to take the crap. The EGR issue is a rare one in that it is a known long term problem that has had numerous "fixes" applied. If I had a car coming out of warranty that had an EGR "fix" applied I would certainly be letting the
  9. Sorry, that may be a dealers perspective but legally its nonsense. The engine swap is a slightly different case but even that has to be "fit for purpose" and an early failure of the swap out has to be considered in that context. All repairs must have a warranty whether its 3 months or 3 years. The debate arises around what is a reasonable period if it should fail Otherwise a dealer CANNOT hide behind the "car warranty is finished" con on a pre-existing fault that they have failed to fix during a warranty period. To be absolutely clear I would write to them by recorded delivery just before m
  10. I also make sure I have no visible signs of any sat nav anywhere on show. I put my PDA under the seat and certainly have no mounts anyway but I know some have them and the suckers on the windscreen scream out SAT NAV
  11. Its quite normal to take up to 5 minutes to get enough sat fixes. Depends on cloud cover etc. Thats a good point Nick. I'll start to turn mine off when I leave the car. Its certainly not visible in the boot. Its worth the few minutes waiting when I turn it back on again NOT to have the car broken into....
  12. Great stuff, I'll give him a call. Thanks
  13. I used a bluetooth receiver which I placed in the "boot" and that worked fine. Tried it in the front and it was OK ish. In theory heated or reflective windscreens shield the signal depending on the car. I left my bluetooth permanently charging up in the boot anyway to avoid any potential issues.
  14. I wonder if this problem is worse with a CVT?
  15. I think ford are struggling to find the root cause of this problem...or why it affects some and not others. Remove the EGR valve I say and be done with it Your English is fantastic olsacha, I can actually "hear" your accent in your posts.
  16. Its a common problem but not everyone has it. It might be worth another 1.6 as you probably stand a good chance of getting a good one. I'm surprised they have "given up" on fixing the fault as plenty here have had months of agro. mind you, as I say, many have had no problem with this fault either.....
  17. What car have you got? I presume a TDCi but good news is if they will put in writing that, in effect, they can't fix it then you have a strong case. Flatspotting is plain dangerous especially if you are pulling out of a junction or similar. Depends on how hard you want to push it and the age of the car. You could ask for a replacement of similar mileage or even your money back if a new car. The range is endless, difficult but sometimes worthwhile. It all depends on their response. I don't know about the auto petrol but I bet its around 30 mpg...surprise me folks
  18. Andy, do you do small creases in car doors, no paint damage, where some kind prole opened his door into my wifes in a car park and drove off?
  19. Being the "second owner" on a pre reg car does not have the valuation effect it used to especially as you can show it was new anyway. C-Maxs lose a lot, like other cars anyway, and in 3 years time no one will care. I've bought online 4 times with no problems what so ever. Small premium is Ok £2-£3k difference is not. Make sure its a UK spec car and there is no issue at all.
  20. Yes but if you want a six speed gearbox a but have only got a 5, as 1.6CmaxGhia says its a cheap way to do that. Another good upgrade is a 2.0 TDCi badge for the back when you only have the 1.6. You must remember to tell your insurance company though
  21. Try here http://www.fordpartsuk.com/Merchant2/me ... y_Code=MM1 Its under the Mondeo accessory section but it fits the C-Max. Very solid feel, which I like and feels quality.
  22. You can NEVER spend too much time with your knob in your hand This is a real mans knob in my opinion. I don't often show it in public like this but once I have been challenged.... Anyway Scotties got one as well. He just seems a bit shy about the whole thing....
