Roscoe replied to xanadu's topic in MK2 - Ford Focus 2005 > 2011
There is a long list of problems with the TDCI engines which are evident if you read through the various topics mostly the EGR valve failure....... -

March 05 Focus Every Fault on Forum !
Roscoe replied to Mister M.'s topic in MK2 - Ford Focus 2005 > 2011
13. Latest.....boot unlocks itself whenever it pleases ! I had that happen twice so far I also have tie rod issues and noisy inner wheel arch rattles I dont think the build quality is as good as the MK 1 and 1.5 focuses I had. Not impressed with ford either -
Thats very interesting I had the same problem with my CMax it started after going over speed bumps in the school carpark and every journey since and went back to the dealers 3 times 1 to grease the shocks but it wore off after a week and started again 2 to change the shock on the near side but made no difference 3 to change the tie rods Dealer said it was a known issue with the CMax and there were lots brought back for it. In the end they never fixed mine I gave up , and then it just stopped on its own???? it was later traded in after it broke down due to a very common faulty EGR valve on

I have had it and fixed it !!! after much investigating under the bonet and around the pasenger footwell it turned out to be......... wait for it........... the inner wheel arch! passenger side weird eh? only above 60mph but very annoying its plastic and all 4 inner wheel arches dont fix to the wing on the inside at the top only at the sides with screws they all just snap in so to speak, anyway there are a gaps/ holes at the front of the arch so I got my hand in and pulled the inner arch down and out and mannaged to put some rubber cable sleeving over the upper edge and snapp -

I have the standard interior light in my zeatec anyone know what bulb fits it and how to change it ? TIA :)

Well I have a 05 plate 1.6 TI-VCT Zetec 5 dr and the car does not wallow around at all the road holding is brilliant, rock solid and better than my Mazda 6 and Focus Ghia TDCI but then its a lighter engine. The unique suspension and the seats combined means I go around roundabouts as if on rails  Note to self: slow down at roundabouts there must be a law against it somewhere.

MK2 Colour matching & faults appeal for BBC Watchdog
Roscoe replied to a topic in MK2 - Ford Focus 2005 > 2011
Speaking to a mate of mine who owns a car repair company I mentioned the focus issues to him and he said it was common for bumpers not to match as the materials were different he went on to say that he ha £40000 Audi in which was as new and the silver bumpers dident match on that so your in good company, having said that the pics on here are not mismatched they are a different colour!, its pretty obvious even to a passing glance all is not well how they could sell them is a mystry. Silver is the worst to match I'm told so if you have a silver one and its not really bad then it may be worth l
