  1. dont push your bonnet closed unless you want a dent thats willl be down to you to repair
  2. ?????? I seem to remember you directed me to CD41?? Anyway, after having it installed, there was a definite difference in that the you could hear the EGR clicking to clean itself when the car was turned off. However, with the re-emergence of the problem, I cant hear the click anymore! the valve must be gunked up pretty badly! Andy should have read the FINAL fix on it
  3. they fitted em to all model in one build period, to keep production going
  4. thats because cd41 did NOT have the fix on it!!!!!!!!!! Summary Should a customer express concern about one of the following: * hesitations, * poor or no start, * deteriorated fuel economy, and upon investigation diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) P1412, P0490 and P1335 are stored in the powertrain control module (PCM), the probable cause is a sticky exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve. To rectify this concern, a new EGR valve with a stronger EGR valve motor and revised PCM calibration should be installed. • NOTE: Use CD-42 or a later version.
  5. we have had a tech jion us from merc and he said he would not, i dont know anything about them sorry howerver is that not a vito van? take a look at smax if you want somthing special
  6. insist its a know fault you have the concerns and give them the tsb, they will get paids without codes
  7. yup the valve sticks, a sharp tap, will release it, when you key off wait a min before restart and the pcm will pulse the valve to clean it, then re start, get the tsb done and it will be ok from then on, make sure the also recal pcm and re set parameters i have done 20 plus and once done all it ok, and no returns. just makesure you complain of the following faults, and ask for tsb7/2006 Should a customer express concern about one of the following: * hesitations, * poor or no start, * deteriorated fuel economy,
  8. have you had the current level of fixes carried out? pm me your reg number and ill lokk whats been done to ur max and tell u what you need doing excactly you keep banging on but fail to say wheather you have had anything done. if you stop banging on and get it to a dealer and ask for the tsb to be done you will not have any problems did the dealer re set the parameters for the egr on your last visist. bang on all you want there IS a fix, itys available and it works, ford have done there part for the record id never own a cmax and there a bag of crap in my opinion, thats the reason i th
  9. please dont unplug it your mill lamp will come on your engine will reduce power and go into los and most importantly if your engine develops a fault it can not tell you and with that im mind and damage accured will not be warranty, and a dealer will know its been unplugged even if you reconnect it (code logged) why do you need to know where it is?
  10. Limited operation strategy basicicaly return to default setting and reduced power
  11. tsb is technical service bulletin, i think u want 7/2006 from memory to the guy who says im blunt, LOOK left under my user name  there is a fix, available that effects a certain build range,BUT not all egr units fail or stick in that range, its also known that diferant driving has diff effects on the valve ie motorway/kids run/boy racer as for other manufactures not having problems, you ask a mazda owner! or citroen/pug disconecting it will not work 1/ mil lamp will iluminate 2/ your now tamering with the engine managment, clever idea as your scard of it failing 3/ it
  12. but we dont worry about the tools driving em, causing accidents , knocking motor cyclists off do we! cars break down! fact of life but when there is a fix, what do you want to do
  13. and so could a heat attack, so why worry, when ur times up your off
  14. hooraayyy another moaner got rid off! one thing that really pi55es me off is loosers who tar all people with the same brush, i have a mate in vauxhal.................good luck i certainly wont miss the typical moaning customer!! Ahhh gotcha so im a moaner because all the dealers ive come across employ gibbons to work on the cars and Recite "computer says no" I would rather take the focus through longleat monkey enclosure they wound do a better job of repairing the car than a ford spanner monkey . so dd all you tell em was " i have a brake fault"? what was your fault? so answer this then
  15. ac can take up to 10 bhp of power from your engine the 1.4 is a small low power engine pulling a big car thats heavier than old focus, it needs to be reved to perform, we call em the gutless wonders

  19. gwyn as nick says i look on the mechaninal side and not so much the "consumer" side it wont knacker it, but it will deteriorate and need serviceinf soon, it should be service every 3 years any way. Mark
  20. simple really to gain access to the stut tops which are covered buy the false bulkhead/scuttle pannel. he was having new shocks fitted!!! thought that would be obvious to a 2005 focus owner who has ever looked under bonnet
  21. the ac was goosed the gas escaped due to fractureed pipe, the clip prevents it from happening agai
  22. wha garbage if ur engine cuts out while overtaking you will end up being undertaken and then pull back in ur original space , only a goon wi=ould stay in the wrong lane! there IS a fix what car do you have now? as you say your old 1.6 did it whan did you get rid of it?
  23. its as above it does it so its used and remains in good condition , if u dont use it the will loose gas and fail to operate
  24. 1/ its not just ford it not even a ford engine 2/ the fault has a readily available fix that works 3/ if ur car dies for any reason then , fuel pump, batery failure u have the same situation. it does not effect all cars its NOT a danjerous fault, if your that stuck put it in gear and use starter to move it
