Does anyone have the month of manufacture codes for 2006? I have checked the thread here: http://www.ffoc.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=68861 and there is no reference to 2006 :( I picked up my new Zetec Climate today and just trying to work out when it was built as it was a factory order with the upgraded alarm. From what I have found so far it has: - The new 'ST' style rear wiper. - The plastic clips that the bulb holders would go into but no bulb holders or wiring that I can see. - An AUX button on the radio but no visible connector in the glovebox.

Out of interest, where does the aux plug fit in the glovebox? I have a round socket on the right rear of the glovebox with holes round it then another (what would be a) hole in the middle rear of the glovebox but this is blanked off.

It might be the AUX connector for the radio so you can hook up an MP3 player, etc. How old is your car?

Can anyone get info about the parts from their car using ecat or is that an internal dealer only system?

I dont think the dimmer 'wheel' is there any more on the later builds. This has been spotted in other threads as well.

Its not mandatory so most cars still have plates without the european logo on them.

Do they perform ECU updates as part of a service or do you have to ask for them to do it?

What he means is that its based on the 1.6 (100bhp) lump but with a VCT head and a different ECU program.

I have seen one or two green ones and it looks awful. All the other colours seem to suit it well.

Its probably cheaper for them to fit the loom than not fit the loom.

The panel on the updated Fiesta gives you information such as radio station name, volume level, etc. Its a shame it hasnt been retrofitted to the Focus (or maybe Ford are saving it for the facelift model) as its a really handy feature to have because you never have to look at the radio.

It looks like the majority of 06 registered cars (06.5MY?) have the new wiper installed.

You need electric power steering. The 1.6 is hydraulic so cant be adjusted by the ECU.

I drive past Heathrow on a daily basis and almost every Focus that I see is a Hertz car (look for the small barcode on the rear window). They are all on Nottingham registrations with Reg Vardy stickers. Most tend to be 5 door LX but there there are a few more Sport ones now and the odd Zetec. Out of interest, who does it say the previous owner is on the V5? Edit: I dont know if the bonnet lock is part of the grill but if this has been damaged then it might be why it has been changed to a non-Zetec one. Personally I would push the dealer to change it to the correct trim.

My mistake. The basic alarm is an option on Studio/LX/Sport. Standard on Zetec/Zetec Climate and CAT 1 on Ghia and above (CAT1 optional on Zetec/Zetec Climate).

The Sport is basically an LX with different trim so it will have a peremeter alarm, not a CAT 1 alarm. You need to go Zetec or above to get the CAT 1 alarm (either as standard or a factory option).

It's a UK-registered car, purchased from my local Reg Vardy dealership. I would like to think that RV would take the care to ensure that their incoming stock wasn't accident-damaged, but you never know. All seems pucker with the car though, which is a great drive, and I can see absolutely no imperfections in the bodywork or colour matching. I'll have a word with the bloke who sold me the car. If it has Nottingham plates and (sometimes) a 'this car has an alarm and immobiliser' sticker in the front windows then its an ex-Hertz rental car as Reg Vardy seem to be their main supplier of Focuses.
