Welcome to the FFOC :: Ford Focus Owners Club

The FFOC is the UK's official car club for Focus Owners. This site has been created for the benefit of club members, other Focus owners and those who are admirers of the Ford Focus. The FFOC forum is one of the biggest Focus forums in Europe and is also one of the friendliest around with plenty of Technical advisors on hand to answer your queries!

The club ethos is to provide impartiality in the motor world and ensure members receive the very best advice available for your Focus. The social aspect of the club is of huge importance and we have a large group of Regional Coordinators that arrange meets and events in your region.

The club was created for you, the Focus owner, and it will continue to grow and improve so long as club members and the general public provide as much input into the club as they can.

Car insurance for a Ford Focus and how to reduce premiums

Since its introduction in 1998, the Ford Focus has set a standard in its class with its owners coming to expect high quality engineering and performance which you would associate with Ford. As such, it’s only natural they would look for a high standard of car insurance cover to protect their vehicle – but does quality cover have to be expensive? Here we look at the insurance options available to Ford Focus drivers and how they can reduce their premiums.

How to drive in the snow....
TechnicalWell wth the weather continuing to hit us with snow and ice, driving conditions are far from perfect.

Most of us think we're expect drivers and can handle anything - but stop and think... do you really know how to drive in the snow? in fact do you really need to be driving at all in this weather?

Here's some tips:
  • When driving in snow, get your speed right - not too fast so that you risk losing control, but not so slow that you risk losing momentum when you need it - and brake, steer and accelerate as smoothly as possible.
  • Start gently from stationary, avoiding high revs. If you get yourself into a skid the main thing to remember is to take your foot off the pedals and steer.
  • Only use the brake if you cannot steer out of trouble.
  • Stay in a higher gear for better control, and if it is slippery, in a manual car move off in a higher gear, rather than just using first.
There's a great article on the BBC news pages with some words of wisdom  for snow driving which is a highly reccommended read - make sure you pack up well - there's an essentials list available - how well does your boot of goodies score?

And from the FFOC - just all take care and be safe!
