If that is the case then the dealer did not make it clear to us, but since when did dealers give the full picture :roll: It has annoyed my Dad because he has not received exactly what was promised and there doesn't seem to be anything can be done about it. Is it possible to convert drums to discs? If so I guess it is mega expensive??

Apparently there have been so many complaints from Mk2 owners having problems with rear discs that they are discontinued. My Dad's new 1.8 petrol was delivered with drums on the rears; he queried this because it was not what he was expecting, but apparently this is the case now. I don't recall seeing anything here about problems with rear discs.

I seem to remember someone posting up photos of a black Mk2 with chrome effect fog light surrounds - any ideas who it was or can point me in the direction of the photo? I have done various searches but can't find it. TIA, Cherry x

The bulb holders are quite easy to spot if you look (or even a feel!) My car (a 56 reg Zetec Climate) does not have them, there are just holes where the bulbholders would be. I believe it was the earlier Mk2s which had the bulb holders although as Ronaldo said looks like it didn't include the Sport. If you get the Torquesteer kit please let us know your thoughts on it.

Oh dear, are these spots in one specific area or all over the car?

You'd get rear disc brakes instead of drums on the 1.8 :D

My Escort was my first car, it was 5 when i bought it and I kept it 10 years. I don't plan on getting rid of my new car until it stops working!

Mine is fitted to the 6000CD. I am at work just now but when I go home I can check the fitting instructions and see if it mentions any other models if that is of any help?

There was a bag of stuff in my glovebox (I know the fixings for the mats are in there) must check for the little rubber mat, it would be useful to stop stuff moving around. I love these little gems of information you find out here :)

Yes he does. I have "Cherry" - bought the letters individually from Motorworld. I found they are slightly larger than the car's original font.

Agreed, that's what I did and it worked fine.

Occasionally I have noticed the whiff of washer fluid when driving, that must be because it's sloshing around.

I fitted the aux socket myself just before Xmas. The first time I put the glovebox back, tightened all the screws and the door wouldn't shut! I just unscrewed it again, took it out, put it back in again and no probs second time. It was dark so I'm not sure what was stopping it first time. Actually now the door closes easier and I have lost the rattle from the metal door clip thing!

I was just wondering ... like you said some old Foci had them and some Mondeos do too so I just wondered if any new Foci have them. I would like to have mine done in body colour but I would do the spoiler and the bumper too or else it would look odd!

Is the horizontal black (body colour on Ghias and Titaniums) strip of plastic above the number plate which incorporates the tailgate release available in chrome effect?

Great info skindog! This is the one thing that I really want to do to my car. I ordered the part yesterday at my local dealer, was told it would be in stock today so I arranged to pick it up tomorrow. Just got a phonecall to say it has to come from Germany and will take a week! :evil: Hopefully it will in by Christmas but I am not holding my breath :lol:

:lol: are they very expensive then? I could borrow my old car back off the other half and use the old roof rack (it doesn't fit the focus) - I'll need his help carrying the tree anyway! Thanks for your ideas.

Rather than carrying the Christmas tree home in the new car ( eek ... :crazyeyes: sap and needles) I wondered which roof rack would be suitable for the mk2. Anyone got any recommendations?

I'd like to find an AUX socket which fits in the glovebox so you can plug in an mp3 player. Also I think paint is a good idea but you already mentioned that!

8) Sounds like a good deal to me. My 56 plate Zetec Climate was £12445 but I got the standard alloys. My car is tango red, I love the colour but it's not common at all around here.
