  1. Have you had any problems with your Xenons? The offside on mine would fail to ignite occasionally. It's a known problem, Ford have put a heavier earth which seems to have fixed it. I also get a lot of people flashing me cos they are set too high. Bloody good though!
  2. Just got my car back after all the recent TSBs & the EPB safety recall. Guess what, now the EPB doesn't automatically come on when you take out the keys. This seems to be Ford's method of bug fixing, disable the feature! The clock fix TSB removes the RDS time setting feature, The EPB recall disables auto enable, (well has in my car) & they managed to disable the auto headlights too! Muppets! Back to the dealer again, sigh!
  3. That will be Ford's answer to the next batch of C-Max problems. Just open & Close all the windows :D
  4. Just called my dealer to check on the progress of my car (They've had it 3 weeks now! Hopefully to do all the warranty work) All was fine till they applied the software update to the Electronic Parking brake. Guess what...... It broke! It seems the fix permanantly applies the handbrake. A bit of an extreme measure for a safety recall me thinks!
  5. To quote the letter from Ford My interpretation of this is the automatic feature is NOT enabled in these countries, but IS enabled on UK models. My C-Max has this feature enabled cos i tried it! It's a good time to get all the other TSBs done when your car goes in, so remember to mention them
  6. There is a generic clip called a pro-clip that makes use of any slots or holes in a car. Costs about £15 here is a C-Max version http://w3.easytrade.net/brodit_shop/pro ... id=1228041 Manufacturer www.brodit.com
  7. The seat has a sensor so the car knows if you're sat in it (for the seatbelt reminder) In the the event of an accident the seatbelt pre-tensioners & side airbags need to be fired so it probably does that too. I know this because I had an airbag warning light caused by a faulty pre-tensioner!
  8. This is basically a Convex mirror that pops out of the console in front of the interior lights. Its about 6inches wide & 4 inches high and gives a good clear view of the rear seats. Its a really usefull addition if you have kids!
  9. For updates after Jan 08 please go to focusowners C-Max Forum There are many issues common to most C-Maxs, which are known to Ford dealers via: Technical Service Bulletins (TSB) or Special Service Messages (SSM) Ford have a Technical information system used by dealers called Etis. If you report a problem when your car is serviced, the dealer should look up your VIN number on Etis which will alert them to any work that should be done to your vehicle. Serious issues will be dealt with by a product recall, but other known problems are resolved by either a TSB or an SSM. If reported,
  10. Features: MP3 Compatible (why go for a 6 disc, when with MP3 you can fit 12 on a single disc) 8 Premium Speakers included (4 front 4 rear Makes a big difference they sound great) DSP (Alternate sound precessing options) Aux In socket in the glovebox (Fab if you own an Ipod) Normal RDS Radio Stuff Generally nicer looking than the standard Ford ones, Maybe more desireable to thieves though :?
  11. AT LAST! The car is finally going in on Monday for a week, to have ALL my issues resolved. The dealer said he would keep the car for the week to ensure everything was sorted to get me off his back. Bloody cheek, i'm only nag him cos he's a lazy git & keeps me needlessly waiting! I'll see how the car comes back!
  12. Anyone found a more recent version of TIS the Jan 2004? This one only has TSBs up to October 2003.
  13. Thanks Tree for fixing my attachment! It's amazing what you can do with MS Word! 8) Mark, On the Ford site under c-max\specification\safety & security ALL C-max models have ISOfix mounts. We decided to buy a toy mobile 2.0 TDCi Ghia (Vitro Metallic) Traveller pack, Sony MP3 player, DVD Player (for the kids of course :D ), 17" machined alloys & Xenon Lights (Basically an Ultima!) It's a lovely car to drive. The 2 litre diesel is an absolute belter. No need to change down to overtake, just put your foot down & it takes off! Hope yours comes soon, you will love it! We've h
  14. Here are the isofix mounts on a C-Max. The plastic cover (lower left) was supplied with a Britax ISOFix Duo seat. edited by Tree, so you can see the image
  15. They are there & you don't need to cut the fabric. I just bought 2 Britax Isofix duo seats. They come with a small plastic tube that hooks over the isofix loops on the seat. Push your finger into the fabric at the base of the seat back, then push the fabric to the left or right (towards the middle of the seat) and you will see the isofix loops. Once you fit the plast cove from Britax, you can simply pop the seats out when you need to. (i can post a photo if anyone asks)
  16. I have a 2.0 TDCi Ghia with all the same problems (including a lousy dealer) 1) Random Time from Sony Clock 2) EPB Limited function warning 3) Low Fuel warning 4) Hesitant Engine at low revs 5) ABS Warning Light 6) Frequently jumps out of gear 1st, 3rd & 5th 7) Xenon Headlamp doesn't always come on. 8) Poor fuel economy 9) Factory damaged paintwork (awaiting front bumper re-spray) Pretty trivial things really, I must say generally I am very happy with the car, but totally appauled by the service from the dealer. I paid out £20k for a new car and does that include any customer support?
  17. I have similar damage to the front bumper on my TDCI Ghia. There is a slightly lighter shade visible under a lacquered area of the bumper. (Obviously factory damage) Currently awaiting a bumper re-spray.
  18. According to the manual (yes i actually read it!) Over 5mph The EPB will be progressively applied if you keep the button lifted. 5Mph or less The EPB will fully apply as soon as you lift the button.
