  1. with cover it looks clean, tidy and nice (aesthetically).. But as you can see; if there was a cover there, I could not see that oil leak as it was under the cover...
  2. this is a 2005 1.6 tdci with engine cover And this is a 2004 tdci without an engine cover.
  3. Its nothing, mate! National FORD importer of Turkey , Otosan, forces us to change oil at 9000 mile or 6 month intervals (which comes first). If you dont obey this rule, your car gets out of warranty
  4. engine cover looks nice, but it hides your engine...I sometimes check the engine for leaks, loose cables and foreign bodies. If it has an engine cover, u cant see basic problems.. looks nice but useless IMHO  so no need to buy one
  5. yess.. I changed my 1.6 tdci 's oil in 2nd July and in 15th July it was black.
  6. I think national FORD importer of Turkey, OTOSAN, has analyzed rain throughout country and found it contains no salt. So, they DON'T call the cars back
  7. I live in Istanbul. Its very hot here (above 30 C degrees). After having a replacement of turbo oil pipes and an O-ring (I posted here before), with the hot temparatures, i have noticed low mpg figures and excessive dark smoke. But the performance was quite good. At urban driving , i used to get 43-47 mpg, but this decreased below 39 recently. This could be normal for heavy urban traffic but sounded high to me. Anyway went to the dealer, asked them to check EGR valve and MAF sensor (Thanks to this forum, I know these could be faulty). They linked the car to the WDS. They said no error code ap
  8. marko.si, eidos...Does this happen when the aircon is on ? A few 1.6 petrol FOCUS owners has reported exactly the same problem after purchasing a brand new car, here. The cars were brand new but having idling irregularity and even stalls when A/C was on. All the diagnostic checks, software updates were done. Nothing changed . Then, one dealer found the problem as insufficient A/C gas. Although the car is brand new, it may have insufficient A/C gas. A/C gas filled and the problem was solved. If you see the problem when A/C is on, I think you better have check your A/C gas.
  9. Gwyn, mostly I agree with you. New leon , which is on the way, is longer than altea and but just a little bit shorter. Altea is not even an MPV. You can not take the back seats off, only folding them 1/3 2/3 manner just like a standart HB or saloon. So it seems not superior to new leon. Best features of altea are security (better than Cmax at EuroNcap tests ) and handling. 140 bhp 2.0 liter diesel is quick. But i think leon will drive quicker as its shorter. If I'd buy a SEAT car again (my previous one was a Toledo 1M) , it will be new Leon, not the Altea..

  11. TDCIGHIA, mondeo and Cmax wheels fit each other. your 2.0 tdci drives very well with 18'', IMO. You can choose tyre size via WDS.. d3fiant, i think ı couldn't tell what i mean. These are Hella Micro de foglights. They are available for other makes as well (VW, OPEL etc). I wonder if the case fits to Cmax or do we change entire foglight set.. I like those metal looking thingy :)
  12. ..apply those ST220 foglights to a C-max ? and will it look good ?
  13. I think we covered this before.. http://www.ffoc.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=45193
  14. Well, I have a suggestion.. We'll put a sticky thread at the top of Cmax section..Subject is "Do you recommend it".. Everyone will write what he/she feels about the car and if he/she recommends it or not. If one changes his/her mind , he/she can easily edit it ...
  15. Could somebody tell me the part codes of every part of a jetwash system so i will order them (if not expensive) and mount it as aftermarket.
  16. really  xenons not available in Turkey (in Cmax).
  17. To my knowledge, Cmax is not available with headlight jetwash system. Its not even in the options list. I think it would be useful though im not sure.. maybe, the ford engineers have not put it considering the geometry of headlight doesnt require washing Can we install it as an aftermarket product ? If so, how can we find one?
  18. yes, its a torture not to have xenons as all the scenics, versos stroll with xenons. I envy them  (Xenon is not even in the options list for Cmax and new focus here). Im looking for aftermarket xenon kits such as xenondepot, hidonline etc. Xenondepot kits (H7 kits using Philips ballast and bulbs) are the cheapest and they are about 380 US dollars + 25 US dollars for P&P. Total is 405 dollars and this is very cheap. But, customs officials may sometimes demand high import tax for these commercial kits, so i am not ordering one :( I agree with TDCIGHIA... If you can afford, get
  19. Certainly tdci :) if you want economy, then purchase a 1.6 tdci (just like me).. if you want power, get 2.0 tdci ... if your going to do short urban trips , better to get a 1.6 tdci; if your going to do long highway trips , better to get a 2.0 tdci, IMO
  20. Because of the density difference of diesel and unleaded oil, they do not mix. Diesel stays at the bottom as a sediment effect. Fuel pipe is at bottom of the tank. So , the engine continues to use diesel and unleaded oil stays at the top without entering the pipe...But when the diesel finishes, unleaded petrol begins to fill the pipe and this is a disaster. So if you have enough diesel in the tank and notice the mistake early, there will be no harm from unleaded oil. Just empty it. But services, generally, clean up the tank, pipes and change the filter as a caution.
  21. All other brands' electronic brake works in that manner, no need to push the button. Ford engineers can not be so dumb or incapable. They made it so considering something but we don't know what it is, IMHO :(
  22. yes, i was the one talking about 7 liters expansion box because one of the service mechanics told me so.. Recently, one of my friends has run out of fuel in the middle of the highway and tank filled with 49 liters of diesel. So the expansion box must be ca. 4 liters.
  23. And there are no rear doors   ...How will I get my children in to the car ? Bottom picture is old but i haven't seen the top one. What bothers me in these pictures is that they are so much Japanese..Simple designs with no spirit..Yes , everything is good they are functional, not rubbish, parts are good but no spirit at all...I think so....
  24. I thought jimbob19 was just after the vehicle spec (options etc.) There will have been a multitude of vehicle software changes/improvements over the year - most invisible to the customer. This is why the known issues do not (usually)carry into new model year vehicles. You are right Ucsman.. but I mean, despite there is no spec difference between 04 and 05 cars, you'd better choose 05 because it has , as you say, software improvements..
  25. single CD unit CD/mp3 player's SONY code is CDX - FS214 .. A couple of months ago , I searched it but found nothing on the internet..
