  1. I got rid of my Galaxy & i wish i hadn't, anybody want a CMax, even though it is fast as ****
  2. Dorchester Ford have just quoted me recently £160 inc vat for first service, apparently they are quite good as mentioned in one of my other posts. I still think the price is a little steep though after looking at other posts and prices. any opinions?? Thanks
  3. Cheers for the reply. Would this have anything to do with needing a service as it is overdue. I have drove 270 miles today and it has been fine, turned engine off few times, the problem only seems to happen when cold. Thanks
  4. Just a quick one, yesterday morning I got in the car and it started fine, i drove about 1/2 a mile then stopped to see somebody. I got back in the car 10 mins later and it took 3 attempts to start the thing, sort of running really rough for about 3 seconds then it would cut out. This happened 3 times and i had visions of a brakedown truck, I tried it the 4th time and it still ran rough then sort of cleared itself and it has been fine since. Anyone any idea?? It is a 2.0 TDCI
  5. Hi I need to get the first service done on my 2.0 TDCI but after reading some of the dealer horror stories, I would like to know if there are any decent dealers in the Poole to Dorchester area or any to steer clear of. Thanks
  6. I have had my filter in since before Christmas and i'm very happy with it, MPG is better, 460 miles easily obtainable now between fill ups. Drove a friends C-Max 2.0 TDCi without Jetex filter and the difference is noticable right away. 2nd gear much more snappy with Jetex fitted, on non filter car, lag is noticable, you put your foot down and it goes fine but you get a whoosh of power a couple of seconds later. With the filter on it's right there on the nail. There is more torque across the rev range entirely. I would say if there is nothing else you do to your 2.0 TDCi just get one of these
  7. You can find the LEDs for the number plate here: http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/product_info ... 20a4676ef2 There are different sizes, just measure the entire bulb for the correct size.
  8. Crap!! :( I found the quad type white LED bulb much better.
  9. My sony 6CD keeps resetting to 21:00, I have had all the updates ect, it has only started doing it over the last week. Back to the dealer again it seems!!
  10. I prefer the Galaxy side repeaters, they have a silver bulb cover and look better without the orange bulb showing, I had them fitted without a problem. If you prefer the new focus repeaters, you could try www.ultraleds.co.uk and get the superbright amber 6 LED bulb that they supply which would look excellent. I'm not 100% certain but i understand that no resistor is needed to be wired across to stop the bulb failure warning.
  11. Yes, the boot liner with the low lip allows you to move the seats back, I can't be certain that the large boot bin will allow room for the seats.
  12. I'm sorry didn't mean to upset anyone but all but my previous 2 cars have been petrol. I had before the C-Max, a Galaxy 1.9 130ps TDI Ghia which was my first diesel and I have to say that if I can help it, I will never buy another petrol car. These new generation dervs are so refined you would think it's petrol anyway when driving along. But like you say smoggy, at the end of the day you buy what you can afford. I was just lucky to get mine tax free.
  13. I bet there will be a speedo change because of this, instead of having MPH as the major numbers, KPH will become the large numbers, opposite th the UK type.
  14. I must say Nick, I have a Tomtom GPS receiver in the storage box on top of the dash and do not get any signal loss at all with a Quickclear screen.
  15. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 11471&rd=1 Thought this may be of interest.
  16. I have been in Germany over the festive period and have been driving at 100 to 110 on the autobahn pulling in a mpg av of 36mpg. the 2.0 tdci has tons of power, I did especially like going on to the autobahn and changing into 6th at 125 mph. The car is a wolf in sheeps clothing and surprised many an audi and beemer driver. Ho ho
  17. Seat belt chime? Yep if you don't put your belt on right away and go over a speed of 5mph you get a bleep bleep bleep very annoying need a hammer now sound.
  18. I will go and get some of those tomorrow. I also read in a post somewhere that the ultrabright amber LEDs from ultraleds.co.uk will go in there nicely and they don't need a resistor wired in either. I will get some and test them then post the results.
  19. I want your clear side repeaters
  20. No, there are no specific running in requirements for the TDCi, it mentions that in the user handbook. I have had several new vehicles and never done any running in, I just make it a point not to race the gearbox too much in the first 200 miles or so.
  21. I have ESP but I don't have the steering settings or message chime, wish I had the message chime setting though, all the car ever does is beep at me, I hate the seat belt chime, very very annoying.
  22. Looks like we all need the update that topman already seems to have on his new maxie. Any one else in the know about it?
  23. Maybe the remote key loses its sync with the car, there is something in the manual ref this but I haven't looked at it. I had a mk4 golf which did this and you had to press the lock button for 5 seconds or so, then it would sync itself and work again. I'll have a ponder in the manual because I think the procedure is more complicated for the C-Max.
  24. Yep well impressed with the performance now it has had updates.
