  1. The 6000cd unit on our o7 focus can sometimes take ages to recognise a standard store bought CD. it just displays "CHECKING CD" for a minute, then ejects it. this can go on for anything upto 10 minutes before it will actuallty play anything. Its the same with CDr's too. These discs play fine on other disc players too. Has anyone else had problems like this, And we have to act sharpish as im betting FORD only warranty AUDIO stuff for 12 months.
  2. Ford one is great but pricey, but if you get discount you will be fine!!!!
  3. Got to fit the AUX lead to my CD6000 radio, Anyone know how much the removal tools are from FORDS, or can it be done another way
  4. "i know people who have drilled the whole in one of the button blanks for heated seats" do these blanks just pop out, and has anybody any piccies of their AUX socket all plumbed in
  5. Bloody expensive aero wipers too. nearly £40 quid for the front set at fords. i was that amazed.......... the sales chap gave em to me for trade!!! which came to £21 thank god
  6. EVANS HALSHAW in NORTHWICH are just as bad, we went to BRISTOL STREET in CREWE in the end even though Evans Halshaw are literally down the road, Our last focus got serviced there, they never put plastic seat covers on, smeared pollen filter sealant all over the front wing, the list goes on......And the used car sales there basically by from FORD DIRECT and whack on about £2000 for being a middle man, and wouldnt let us see the car first............................so we went to crewe and got a BRAND NEW one better spec for less money!!!!
  7. Thats the biggest thing that lets FORD down these days, the dealers and aftersales.........we bought our FOCUS from a different dealer than our local one, as they are absoloutely dire.......in all aspects of service and sales. The dealer we bought from couldnt be more different, so far they have been very good!!!
  8. Wesley. do you have the 1.8 Duratec HE engine, if so can you tell me what RPMS your car is doing at 70mph, Mine is the HE and its really high geared and feels like it needs a 6th gear on the M/way
  9. Mines a five door, that was built at SAARLOUIS in Germany,
  10. my 07 zetec climate aint  typical FORD, Right down to the wire on cost.........take rear 12v sockets. my 02 focus zetec had them, the new one doesnt, same with the remote boot release, and the list goes on, ITS NOT a criticism as they have put other things on such as a fuel com,ABS, and the electric steering options...........But it would be nice if they had just added them rather than take somthing off, if you get my drift
  11. Apparentley my 1.8 duratec HE, has a timing CHAIN, cant say for the 1.6 though, although my 1.6 zetec se had a belt
  12. Watch out for the dodgy batch of the sony units, As far as i know some of these units have got a very heavy current drain and gave problems, such as a flat battery, Thats as far as i know anyways
  13. Im pretty sure i have a warped disc or drum on the 9 month old 1.8 zetec climate, if i take it in to them, do you chaps think it will be covered under warranty...............
  14. Does anyone elses MK2 make a really good thud type of sound, a few seconds after they have started the car, even whilst still idling and stood still, its a real deep thud type of sound, And i dont thing its the A/C clutch kicking in, as thats a much lighter sound, this is more like a muffled suspension knock, if you get my meaning.......Its only when the car is started, and not all the time either (just my luck), So accompanied with the mettalic rattling going on somewhere around the pedal box, when i have just changed gear from 1st to 2nd................The MK2 is really annoying me at the mo
  15. No doubt about it, Id be wanting a BRAND NEW ENGINE, would you really want your engine back after all that,
  16. Its great for acceleration, especially on the motorway, but quite often i find my trying to go up another gear....................
  17. thanks for that mate.................much appreciated
  18. I have an 07 1.8 DURATEC HE (125ps) ZETEC CLIMATE, and theres a few issues that i want sorting under the warranty, or clearing up. One issue i want clearing up is the GEAR RATIO, On the motorway @ 70MPH the RPM's are just over 3400, and feels to me like it wants another gear, So if any of you focus owners out there can tell me what their focus ZETEC RPM's are at 70MPH it would be great, Id like to get the info before i take it to fords. Is mine a standard focus box or has it got a shorter legged one. I guess all i want to find out is, is my g/box the one that should be fitted to this car, Hop
  19. there are some cracking deals out at the moment. a dealer near us, is advertising brand new titaniums for 12k
  20. AFAIK its a dealer fit option, so i would have thought it can be fitted anytime.........BUT we looked into getting it done on the MK1 focus and no dealer we spoke to would do it. Not tried with the MK2 though. There also could be issues with insurance too!! It alwasy annoys me with FORDS penny pinching tactics, just like the second cig lighter/remote boot lock/auto door lock etc etc that they removed from the ZETEC option on the MK2.
  21. Not sure about focus windscreens, But my old XR3i had a quickclear screen (same principal of samll elements in the screen) and that had 3 connections. 1 one each A pillar and a hidden one at the top of the screen under the courtesy ligh panel , Maybe the screen fitter has not reconnected a wire, if there is a definate HALF fosted and half clear, id tend to say a wire is off, AFAIK a broken screen usually shows up as individual elements going and not a whole HALF of the screen..............
  22. going to change the OIL in the MK2 07 focus this w/e, and using TEZZA'S excellent guide http://www.ffoc.co.uk/modules.php?name= ... c&t=167790 i know what type to use, but it made me think what exactly my engine type is. I have the 1.8 DURATEC HE , BUT is this classed as the standard 1.8/2.0 or as the list says the 1.8 DURATEC HE PFI (125/130ps) , if it is the latter what does PFI mean
  23. How did you prise the interior light out chaps. just a good grip and pull
  24. thanks for the info mate, much appreciated
  25. the 07 MK2 1.8 Duratech has just turned 6000 miles and has now started to rattle when letting up the clutch. ie if you gently let up the clutch, as you take your foot of there is a rattle, it sounds like a marble rattling a tin, if you get what i mean. the noise also carries on for a couple of seconds after the clutch is released. and also changing into 2nd too. My first thought was that it sounds like a clutch release bearing, but it would rattle when the clutch pedal is depresed (AFAIK anyways). Has anyone any ideas, or a similar problem. I have an idea this problem is linked to the clunking
