  1. I too had the no reving prob once. Eventually it cleared and hasn't happened since. :|
  2. I thought there were no probs with da panther black!? :?
  3. I have never driven a mk 1 but own a 2.0l tdci mk2. Overall it is a good car. The build quality IS NOT as good as every1 says it is. Maybe the old one was so badly built that the mk2 seems better than it is! I like the ride and handling. You can adjust the electric steering to suit your preference. The 2.0l tdci is one of the best diesel engines I've ever driven. Very torquey and will top 120mph easily. But it's economy is way off what FORD reckon. Mine has quite a few niggling issues that I want resolving before the warranty runs out. The worst thing about owning a Ford is the customer servic
  4. Am fairly happy with it. Fuel economy (2.0l tdci) nowhwere near the figures ford quote and various knocks and rattles keep re-appearing after being fixed! On the plus side, still feels very solidly built and handles brilliantly. The engine is good fun too, if a little thirsty for a DIEsel! 6/10
  5. what is the currrent version of the ecu software and how do you find out what one it has?
  6. but will that cause more harm than good?
  7. Hmmm, that St is now looking VERY tempting!
  8. I know this has probably already been said but, I am getting more concerned about the fuel economy of my 2.0l tdci. In summer with mixed driving I managed to average mid 40's. Now I'm struggling to hit 38mpg! I know its colder but I expected better than this!? I only bought the diesel for the fuel economy. Is there an ecu software upgrade or something similar?
  9. I'm having the same conensation probs. Never had it on my previous cars, is it a FORD thing?
  10. Anyone else having probs with this on both front and back windscreen?
  11. The car is not 100% rattle-free I'm afraid. I had a major rattle from behind my dash and they replaced the whole instrument panel! I still have many smaller rattles and squeaks, but I've learnt to live with them.
  12. I still haven't got used to getting the best out of the 2.0l tdci. I keep wanting to rev it to its max, but I know it pulls better at lower revs, it just a hard as I'm used to a 2.0l 16v so I asscosiate speed with high revs! :o
  13. I thought most diesels were lumpy at idle? Certainly every one I've driven all sound the same at idle, it's not until you open them up that they smooth out.?
  14. Wonder how much trade in I'd get?
  15. Cant believe the new st is the same price as my 2.0l tdci titanium cost!
  16. even my vw transporter company van has flippy key! As standard.
  17. flippy key is not keyless entry, just a posh central locking key!
  18. Yeah, but I've already moved to a 2nd dealer! The 1st one were even worse! 1st one was hendy ford chandlers ford, 2nd hendy ford winchester!
  19. So its been in. New fuse thing fitted eventually! They rang me to say they couldn't spot Mr RAC's temp repair! There was a bloody great jubilee clip holding the main power cable together! I have lost all faith in ford as a service dept. Sales were great, the car is pretty good too but their service dept is a JOKE! At no other dealership have I ever had so much hassle in getting my car fixed. Usually I take a car in, they give me a courtesy car and BINGO! Not at Fords, only the person that supplys their driving liscence can drive their courtesy car, meaning if I pick it up how the hell
