  1. Your brave! But don't worry, you'll love it. It's a fantastic car.
  2. I'm not an expert on this kind of thing, but i'm almost certain the focus estate bars are different to the c-max but the 3/4/5 door ones seem to be the same. It's prob worth checking with a parts department to be sure. This was just based on a quick visual once over!
  3. You really have to see the factory fit Sat-Nav to believe it - it's fantastic! Bear in mind it also gives you climate control. And if your ordering the Ford bluetooth it also has voice control for loads of functions. How cool is it to TELL the car you want CD track 4, Volume 17, Temperature 22 degrees?! The tomtom is a good system but it can't do that. http://www.globalpositioningsystems.co.uk/p3325
  4. Yup! Final registration date to qualify for the 0% is 30th June. Of course!
  5. But you can't get anything off the list price.... At a Ford dealer you can negotiate on that AND borrow the money for free - although admittedly not for 5 years only for 3.
  6. If you can give me the chassis or order number I can check it's status for you. On the whole gate release dates are ussually right, but by no means are they guaranteed.
  7. It varies depending on where the car was built, what stock they're moving at a particular time, where you are in the country etc. Average is about 2-3 weeks.
  8. Have just been and checked - this is indeed the case. As regards the fuel flap, if your REALLY worried about something being nicked out of it while your standing next to it why not; Get out and open fuel flap > Lock car > Fill with fuel > Unlock car (so you can close fuel flap) >Lock car > Go and pay. :?:
  9. If you have a nectar account you can check your balance online. www.nectar.com As for how much they're worth - depends on what you want to convert them into. As an example, 500 points can be converted to £2.50 off at Sainsbury's. 15000/500=30x2.50=£75 :?
  10. 1) Where? None of new Focus I've seen/driven (and that would be about 50!) have a sharp edge here or anywhere else for that matter. 2) Not in the wrong place - just in a different place to the Mk1. 3) Exactly how much light do you need in the glovebox? I can't really see a problem there - the lighting seems perfectly adequate IMO. 4) This needs some investigation as I have 5 new Focus in dealership at moment and A/C does not come on automatically on any of them. 5) This tends to get noticed more as the rear headrests are now recessed into the seats when not in use. On the Mk1 Focus the head
  11. The 15000 points were originally upto 31st March but have been extended into 2nd quarter so now registrations upto and including 30th June qualify for them. If they weren't applied to car before registration they CAN still be added BUT it will cost the dealership money whereas before they would have been paid for by Ford/Nectar. The dealership will therefore try to wriggle out of it. The solution? Tell the dealership you will NOT be returning your viewpoint questionairre as "Completely Satisfied" unless you get them!
  12. I know what you mean, they used to supply those CD wallets for all cars that had a 6disc CD player. They don't come in with the cars anymore but should be able to order some from parts. Or ask your friendly salesperson if they can find one from somewhere for you!
  13. It's rather a standalone policy owing to the deal they have with Ford. It includes recovery, "home-start", towing to local dealer, they'll pay for hotel or train fare home if they can't get you going. Call 0870 010 2558 (national rate) for exact details. You can use both the servicing and warranty at any UK mainland Ford dealer.
  14. For everyones info: 2005 Focus is now available with a typical APR of 0% with min 30% deposit upto 36 months, or 7.9% typical APR with 20% deposit upto 48 months. You also get 15,000 Nectar Points.
  15. It's £90 a year to buy the fully comprehensive policy you get for free!
  16. The plastic wallets are still around and even now given as standard with Galaxy. Entirely possible the dealership concerned will give the (cheaper) blue plastic wallets out with rental cars as if they get lost/damaged they'll be easier to replace.
  17. You can buy the FordProtect package anytime upto the vehicles 1st service but NOT after. Savings wise lets say you want to run the car for 3 years and your servicing it at Gates. Service 1 = £129 Service 2 = £129 Service 3 = £169 RAC x 2 years = £180 Total = £607 Buy it all in advance and it's £500. Also bear in mind Gates are the cheapest main dealer service I know of, if you have services elsewhere you may well save even more. This would be upto the individual dealer - if it was Gates the answer would be yes.
  18. Supagard paintseal/fabricguard protection costs £199+VAT at my dealership. :P It is pretty good, you may well enjoy cleaning your car yourself and there's nothing to stop you continuing to do that. Just eliminates the need for waxing, and you can't really buy the protection it gives your seats from Halfords. It works a lot like ScotchGuard for carpets/sofas. When your 5 year old inevitably spills a drink on the seat you can clean it up with little/no fuss. I think it'd be mad NOT to get FordProtect. 1) It's cheaper to pay for your servicing up front and your also insulated from any
  19. Great review, thanks for that. Think I should mention the handbook folder though - all the new Focus I've delivered so far have had the "wetsuit" covers not the hard blue plastic ones.
  20. Speak to someone in sales at your local Ford dealer - Tell them to use the New Car Sales section of the CDS dealer portal and search for this document: VS/05/047 They should be able to print it off which isn't ideal but would do until the manual arrives. Alternatively, if you want to PM me your home/work address I can post it to you.
  21. tomtom70 - please help! Your usually fantastic with this kind of thing - I understand and can use the basic functions for customer demonstrations etc. but I'm a bit stuck with some of the more advanced stuff. Sorry I can't help Red Osprey
  22. I shouldn't think it'll be too long. I don't have any "inside" info but it all fits in with the "premium" quality thing.
  23. I think the car feels roomier than the stats would suggest as well. Just wanted to supply some hard evidence to back it up! Glad your enjoying the car. :D
