I put BP Ultimate in mine for 2 tanks, did not see any improvement in performance or consumption. Got between 31 and 33 with our without the "better" fuel.

Have a look around the driver seat base (at the front by the door) - that seems the worse place.

I was expecting my car back tomorrow but got another call today to say that the casing the evaparator sits in is cracked and was probably the cause of the problem in the first place. They do not have 1 in stock and it is on a 7 working day lead time from Ford. This means it will be 2 more weeks before I get my car back :x

Ask for a replacement car - you cant drive one that intermittantly cuts out.

Had a call from the garage today, the evaporator is duff. Not really sure about air conditioning systems so did some research on the web and it seems this is one of the most important pieces. Should be back to me at the end of the week (they have none in stock). At least I have a loan car!!

Well it wasnt me imagining it. The car went in for its 3 month check and I was told that my air conditioning was not working at all. The worst thing is, they dont know why. :x Luckily enough my 3 month check was at the same time as my car is having its bumper resprayed so they have the car to investigate and I have a loaner. The salesman has told me to keep his car until I get mine back. 3rd fault now!

Possibly, I have heard on the "grapevine" than the Zetec will come with the flick key shortly too.

Just thought I would let people know, my car went into the bodyshop yesterday for a bumper respray. I was told they need it for 2 days but they have offered me a loan car, a Ka. What a joke. I complained to the manager, at 6 ft 3 I cant even sit in a Ka and get my legs under the steering colomn. They did sort it out though, I have the salesman 1.6VCT Ghia while mine is in.

I tried this on mine and a loan car that i have at the moment, i havent noticed it.

I have been having a few problems with my car, but despite this I am still pleased with it. Hang on in there mate, you wont be dissapointed once the problems are resolved.

I only got the flick key and the "put in the door" type :(

Despite what the figures say, I think my Mark II 2.0 is quicker than my Mark I. The 30-60 figures need to be taken with a large amount of salt as they are in 4th gear. If you really want to accelerate quickly, knock it into 2nd or 3rd. This is where the difference is noticeable.

I have a bit of wind noise from my rear passenger door but it is not really that noticeable unless you are doing 60mph and above.

Thats less than my 2.0 petrol!

Fuel economy seems to be a big thing on the new Focus. I have heard many people complain about it but you seem to be doing ok. I have a 2.0 petrol and I am only getting 32.5mpg. This is down on my Mk1 2.0 Focus which was getting about 34 this time of year, the new engine is supposed to be more fuel efficient according to the brochure with a combined of 39mpg (the Mk1 was 33) :shock: .

Ford are in the process of working a solution. They have stopped replacing units only as a temporary measure as you might get the same problem. Your details are held in the pending file and you will be contacted when the solution has been found. However, they are human so would be worth a follow up in a month or so. I expect a firmware upgrade will be required.

I would have insisted on a courtesy car. Fords are usually willing to help out - but you have to shout loudly first!

Just thought I would let people know, I have heard that Fords have issued a Service Bulletin for this problem within the last few days. The problem is related to the 6th disc in the changer. If you only put in 5, the unit works no problem. The current advise is use only 5 and wait instructions from Ford. They have people looking into it, probably be a firmware upgrade on the units in due course.

I have the DEATC on my new Focus and used it properly for the first time today - it was really hot when I got back to the car. However, the air conditioning seemed to make the car hotter when I turned the fan up. Anyone got any ideas or does it need to be looked at by the dealer? The system was set to 17C in case you were wondering and then low to get it cool - made no difference though. My last Focus had the climate control and I did not have this problem.

The wheels look really good, would be a pain to clean though
