  1. I would always by a 2.0. It might be a little more expensive and a little worse on the consumption side of things, but the extra power is worth it. The 2.0 would eat your Mondeo for breakfast.
  2. I will let you know how I get on. I know the colour is always going to be slightly different due to the material but this is really bad. At least they have admitted there is a problem. Didnt really have much choice when I said that if the back one can match why cant the front one as they are made and sprayed in the same place. :? Mine is a tonic as well. I will upload some pics showing the difference when I get a chance.

  5. Funnily enough I saw my first Titanium with a Titanium badge today. I also saw a Titanium with a Ghia badge? Why would it have the wrong badge all together? No badge, could possibly understand that, but the wrong one??? Tried to explain to my father that it was a titanium but all he said was "it says its a Ghia."
  6. It took me a little while to figure it out - the manual is as helpful as usual!
  7. Mine is going in to have its bumper re-sprayed soon as it doesnt match the rest of the car - they better do a good job or I will be as p****d as you. Hope you get it sorted out soon mate.
  8. Change the consumption to MPG and then cycle to the temperature display on the fuel computer. If you press and hold the reset/select button on the indicator stick it will change the temerature on the computer and DEATC to celsius.
  9. I have seen a lot of people commenting about ESP. I dont think it is really needed. If you get a 2.0 engine you get the bigger discs anyway. Agreed you get the safety features of ESP, but does anyone really drive in a way that requires the ESP to function? I had traction control (I know its not ESP but it is included with ESP on the Mk2) on my Mk1 Focus, dont have it on my Mk2, and dont notice that it is missing.
  10. Pol - please can you post some pics. Thanks.
  11. There is one at my local dealer in Silver. Looks quite nice, but not a car I would choose.
  12. I like the colour coding on the fog light bit (stip of plastic above the plastic surround). Looks much better than the black we have.
  13. I have. I drove the 1.6 VVT during my test drive and although it was reasonably quick, it lacked the acceleration of my old Mk1 2.0. You can defenitly tell the difference between the 2, especially on the motorway and if you want to pull away at a slow speed without stopping in 2nd gear. The new 2.0 is also quicker than the Mk1 2.0. The only downside is the consumption. I have driven about 1200 miles now and I am getting 32.5mpg even with a 120 mile drive on hte motorway yesterday. In the Mk1 2.0 I was getting 34 - 36 mpg. Despite the fuel consumption, I would recommend the 2.0 over the
  14. I never get it either but was quoted £300 from the dealer.
  15. It is prehaps a little old fashioned but I still prefer a dealer sourced new car.
  16. Despite the problems, I am pleased with the car. It is much better to drive than the "old" mark 1 and I think it even loks better (sure I will be chastised by the faithful Mk1 lovers for that comment  )
  17. I have sat in the back of the car (which is unusual as I am always the driver) and it does feel more spacious that it looks. A mate of mine commented that it looked a little cramped but I challenged her to sit in it and she soon changed her mind!
  18. I had a bit of a problem with my clutch today. Went to drive away and the pedal stuck down! Only way to pull it back up was to grab it with my hand. Drove the car back and forward a few meters and the problem went away, went to drive away and it happened again. I was a bit concerned so called out the RAC as the garage was closed. When he arrived he told me that it was a problem to do with hydralic clutches and that it happens sometimes on all different types of cars. Drove the car home and it was fine despite changing gear a lot. RAC advised that it is not worth calling the garage as all the
  19. If anyone has a Sony 6 disc changer, be aware that there is a major problem with a batch of them currently in circulation. These units are not ejecting the discs. I have had the problem a couple of times and been fobbed off by the service chaps at the dealership that it is due to recordable discs. This is not the case. The unit will play recordable discs, it even says so in the manual! The problem relates to an electrical fault. Full praise for the salesman though, I told him what was happening and he told me the truth. They have now agreed to replace my unit (about time as it is only 6 w
  20. I have ordered a set of Grey velor mats for my Focus. The dealer said that the front mats are 1331456 and not 1349110. I dont want to drive over there to see that they are the wrong ones  , can you confirm please Tezza. thank you
  21. The interior looks much better in real life than in the photos. I have the Ghia with Sony 6 CD and Climate control, the photos I have taken do not do it justice. The Climate Control is excellent, very easy to use, and yes, it does make the dash look neater. When I compare my car to my Uncles, he has a Ghia with standard temperature controls and CD, mine looks much neater.
  22. I have a Ghia and use the auto lights all the time, just a bit lazy I guess as I havent touched the light switches since delivery!!!! The auto dipping rear view mirror is really good if you drive a lot at night and the Sony CD system is excellent and includes 8 speakers rather than the standard 4. My advise would be to go for the Titanium. I would also recommend going for the 2.0 petrol as well if you can justify the additional money and lower economy.
  23. Very nice. I also have the same wheels on my 2.0 petrol Ghia, they look nice but are a bit of a pain to clean as you have to clean the inside rims as well!
  24. I actually prefer the manual wipers. The automatic ones wipe without enough water on the screen even on the maximum setting.
