  1. I've managed to get about 35-36mpg on a long run - tank did about 350 miles. Average speed of 60mph on the journey, although there was plenty over that :-)
  2. Is there really only one power socket in the new focus? Maybe I'm blind, but I can only see the one :-( I seem to recall that the Mk1 Focus had one at the back of the hand-brake area for the rear passengers. I notice the estate gets one in the boot... why is that something only estate owners would want?
  3. When either of the front doors are open the dash correctly says "driver" or "passenger" door open. But with the rear doors it gets them the wrong way round. Is this yet another traite of the car being a modified lhd version? (I'll add this to my list; climate control wrong way round, hand brake on the left - not too bad, but drinks get in the way, and also the lack of a foot rest on the rhd models...)
  4. Has anyone done this comparision with the petrol engines? I have a 1.6 VCT, and so far I'm just been putting regular Esso fuel in (it's the most convenient). Is it worth trying any of these "premium" fuels? Even if they go further, they cost more money... does it work out cheaper?
  5. I have the Sony MP3 player with the Bluetooth Phone and voice control. If I'm listening to a track on an MP3 disk, and I then make a call using the phone via the voice control, I get problems returning to the MP3 disk. It seems to switch back fine, but the track is paused. I can skip tracks and that works, but it stays paused. I can't see a pause button (maybe I'm blind...), so I'm not sure what to do. My current "solution" is to switch to the radio and back, which seems to work. Anyone else seen this?
  6. I've had the voice control manual for over a month now, so it's been "in print" for quite some time...
  7. I've never even heard of this option
  8. I think I recall my dealer saying it was on the most recent builds, or something like that.
  9. I forgot about flaps until my car arrived, then the dealer didn't have any in stock! Fortunately (well, not, actually) my car is going in to get a couple of problems fixed, so I'll try and get them sorted then :-)
  10. I imagine the windscreens aren't the simplest things to replace these days? All sorts of wires and sensors coming out of them :-) I've still gotta wait nearly 3 weeks for mine to be looked at... I can only make it in on a weekend :-(
  11. So I guess "premium velour" doesn't fall in to that category :-)
  12. I discovered a "defect" in my windscreen just a couple of days after getting my car. It's a distortion of some sort right in the middle :( So, cars gotta go back to the dealers to get that looked at. And I'll get my dodgy handbrake (Interior-styling) cover and off-center aerial fixed at the same time. Don't suppose anyone else has had similar problems?
  13. Try setting it to auto, and pick a temperatue. On mine that seems to do the "right thing". I've also got mine on mono. When it's really warm the fans go mad for a while and it cools down quicker. I'm fairly impressed, apart from the slopiness of not modifying it for the RHD market.
  14. The mats I've got have the supplier code "d3u6a" on the bottom, and it says the material is "pa". Any ideas what that means?
  15. Ok - thanks for the info James! Talking of interior styling, has anyone else had a problem with the top section of the handbrake coming off? The silver bit on top just slides off forwards, and looks like it should be glued in place. I'm starting to lose faith in the quality of this car ;-)
  16. So the car come with the mats, rather than the dealer putting them in? I was under the impression the dealer put them in once the car arrived - at least, that's what my dealer suggested.
  17. Should the interior styling mats have a logo or not? The brochure and price list seem to suggest yes, but my dealer says Ford have dropped doing the logos now. He could be spinning me some crap just because he couldn't find the right ones :-) I think this came up a while back, but I'm not sure if things have changed.
  18. No badges here either. But got the mats - I think they might be the right ones... bit hard to tell!
  19. I got mine too today. Spent so long sorting things out, signing paper, and nearly having problems with the finance that would have meant another days wait! But I've got it now, and it's great! The DEATC is pretty neat, as is the voice control. Still haven't had a good play yet, and I haven't taken any piccies either. I think I'm still mentally waiting for it to arrive, because I'm slightly bemused every time I see it parked outside
  20. The "main" side of the DEATC is on the left too. And my dealer told me the LHD cars have a foot rest too.
  21. My car has finally arrived! That's only 2 months, not bad :-) Probably collecting tomorrow. I doubt I'll be getting much work done between now and then!
  22. When you buy FordProtect is it useable at any Ford dealer, or just the one you bought it from?
  23. My dealer offered me this yesterday. Which is great news... if I hadn't already worked out how I was going to pay for it already! Now I've got to think about it all again :|
  24. Which RAC package is it? They have roadside and solutions 1-4 on their webpage...
