  1. If you want to pay for a plate of your choice, e.g. ST55/06 XXX it will show with the appropriate registration data indicator (55 or 06) and have an ST pre-fix. If you buy this from the DVLA in advance, and give your dealer the retention document, they can assign the cherished registration number to the vehicle at time of first registration, that way the car will not show as having had a plate change.
  2. August. Order logged by dealer on first day in October when the system would accept orders.
  3. Last time I looked (end of last week) there were some standard spec cars showing but nothing else. Mine (which has loads of optional extras) was showing as an order number, but no build date or chassis.
  4. Ford has taken a different approach to the majority of other manufacturers out there. Ford uses Halogen, rather than Xenon headlights, making this a cheaper option than its previous incarnations. That is why on a newFocus adaptive front lighting is cheaper than xenon headlamps.
  5. Erm ... not quite. I do believe the ST-3 section at the bottom of this site also states "Electric": http://www.ford.co.uk/ie/foc_c307/-/-/foc_st/-/-/-/ However, like many of you guys having sat in a couple of ST-3s, the adjustment is manual, and the majority of material available at the moment about the car also states manual. So I think it is a fair assumption to expect manual adjustment and not electric. Not even on the Mondeo ST220 which does have electrically adjustable seats as standard do you get any memorys, so I wouldn't have expected that on the newFocus either!
  6. Spec: ST3 Doors: 3 Exterior: Electric Orange Interior: Black Leather (ST3) Extras: DVD Sat Nav w. DEATC, Park Assist, Premium Bluetooth, Auto headlamps & wipers, Sports front mats Delivery Date: ASAP (i.e. Jan 14th or when ready) Ford Main Dealer: Yes Privilege: Yes Company Car: No
  7. All Dealers will have received a communication from FMC today stating that there are issues with the following options on the new Focus ST: • Visibility Pack = Auto headlamps/ audo wipers • DVD Satellite navigation with DEATC I don't know any more info than this, or how long the delays will be, but this could explain why this option has been removed from the Vehicle Configurator on www.ford.co.uk. I have also been informed that the visibility pack has been removed from VISTA so you can't even add it onto a vehicle order. I have an ST-3 on order with the above and have been advised not to b
  8. Quick additional question on the Solar Windshield ... does it only reduce heat or does it also reduce the dazzling bright light you get when the sun is low? Cos the sun visors never seem to help!!!
  9. If you've ordered your car in white, then yes your stripes will be blue. Welcome to the forum btw. There's still a lot of uncertainty around delivery dates at the mo. I am checking progress of my order and the general state of things via a coleague who has access to the appropriate Ford system. I guess time will tell ...
  10. My Dealer was unable to order Keyless System with my ST-3. It wasn't showing on the system as an option, and they checked with FMC who said no. Would be interested to hear if anyone has been told the contrary. I have my order number! :D
  11. ... check with your Dealer whether you have a Dealer Order Number for your vehicle yet or not. This will confirm that the order has been accepted by Ford and they have committed to building your vehicle. If your vehicle is going to be built in one of the first batches, then your Dealer should know this info. Also ... confirmation that the front Recaros on the ST-3 are heated as standard (as we all suspected they were despite the option on some of the price lists), and KeyFree system cannot be ordered on the ST (at least at the moment). Cheers, Ben
  12. O.K. so it's only for 2 months (assuming you have a dodgy dealer who will release your car prior to the official launch weekend), BUT I'm surprised an insurance company is happy to insure a car that doesn't exist and which hasn't been registered. Where did you declare the car was kept overnight? LOL! All that aside, if I wanted to insure a car for 2 months to ensure my policy completed a 12 month period to increment my no claims discount by a subsequent year I would buy a car for 10 quid, and register it 3rd party fire and theft, not insure a group 17 car!!!!
  13. Can I please have the names of all these dealer's using their 'showroom' vehicles for test drives please? I would like to shop them for breach of agreement with FMC. :D And before anyone says I'm jealous - I'm not - I've driven a staff car, not a dealer's car.
  14. I do like the Turbo writing - in the same style as the Focus writing. Would look good under that ST badge ... :D Now where can I order one of those up from???
  15. Still not digging the blue, but that black looks excellent! :)
  16. 4WD availability for the mk2 Focus platform is not questionable - the Volvo V50 (estate version of the S40) shares the same platform as the mk2 Focus and already offers a 4WD T-5 model.
  17. Looks good mate! The Sport's look good in black as they have the de-chromed front grille. Those alloys standard or factory fitted option?
  18. I'm sure some of you have noticed this already, but it seems relatively new as I've not stumbled across it before. Has all the pricing etc. and I think this is the first time the word 'electric' has actually been used in relation to the ST-3 leather Recaro seat adjustment ... http://www.ford.co.uk/ie/foc_c307/-/-/foc_st/-/-/-/# Cheers, Ben
  19. I disagree mate. I mean after all, the Fiesta ST has been out nearly a year now and even with the facelift model due in the new year they're not exactly giving them away right now, and residuals are proving quite strong as a result. I think Ford have priced the car very fiercely and as such will try and protect residuals but not heavily discounting them.
  20. I know it's only 100 quid, but trying not to get too carried away and order all the factory fitted options on my Focus ST, but now wondering about the solar windshield. Driving to work in my Fessy ST this morning I noticed that I could feel the heat from the sun even though it wasn't that hot in or out the car, and wondered whether the solar windshield would stop this. I'd appreciate feedback from anyone who has this on their car currently, and basically having had it would you do without it? Many thanks, Ben
  21. Not sure if this question has been asked before, I had a quick hunt around and couldn't find anything, but was wondering if the Ford DVD Touch Screen sat nav unit as available on Mondeo and newFocus had any RCA pre-outs for compatability with aftermarket I.C.E. equipment. Many thanks, Ben
  22. Nah ... I like 'em too! :) Although they seem to be flavour of the month in the whizzpopper camp as well at the moment ...
