  1. An ST any day. TT? You serious? *edited rs*
  2. Jasonx - i've looked through the g-net site - it only lists the Expedition and Explorer models. Are these the same as what's in the Focus? Do you know of anything similar from other firms? CheeRS
  3. Hi 2 All I've been busy past fewweeks so only now i'm checking through the posts... I cannot believethat it's not possible to watch DVDs on this satnav DVD thingy... i assumed it was a DVD player too. My brother has a Kenwood DVD touchscreen head unit he bought for his Civic, so that's how I assumed it was a DVD player. Why the fk have they done this? What can you watch through the screen if not a DVD? Is it possiblt to connect, say, a PS2 and then watch your DVDs through that? I'm really * * * *ed off at this thought now!!!  This needs further investigation.... :?:
  4. I work in the automotive industry supplying parts to Ford amongst others and you often see small engineering changes in the first 4 to 6 months of a new vehicle build. This is after all the little problems that cannot be foreseen at the design stage are ironed out after serious levels of testing and customer feedback. Cars also undergo engineering improvements/modifications after the first half year to attract new buyers. Just look at the changes the mk1 Focus went through in its first 12months! I honestly believe you are better off waiting at least 6 months (or at least 5 to 10,000 units) aft
  5. Go for anything other than orange mate. It's going to stink in a couple of years i reckon! Also, does anyone else think the 5dr looks like a chav version of the ST?
  6. What's the 3rd setting on the lights dial (can't quite see in the pic) - 1=side 2=dipped 3= :?: cheers
  7. I have a query with the DVD navigation system for the new Focus - as tehre's no mention of the word "satellite" anywhere, am i right in thinking that this is not a sat-nav system, but some shoddy dvd-rom type system? I'm going to be very disappointed if it's not satellite guided! Cheers
  8. IMHO you can't beat a Nokia. i have a year old 6230, tempted by the new 6230i or perhaps 6680 (price too high at the mo) - Ford use a 6230 in the photos so that one shouldn't be a problem with the kit :D
  9. Does anyone know of planned extras to the ST for next year? Or even a half-year biuld change (like the mk1 focus had coloured mirrors after about 4 months, but all the 1998 models had black). If so, I could easily be tempted to wait to order the ST3. If the keyless entry thing is for definite, there might be some other add-ins too, e.g. folding mirrors maybe? I remember when I ordered my 2001 2.0 Zetec ESP after having a go in my mate's 2000 X reg ESP, I was surprised to find they'd upgraded the CD player to the 6006E 6-disc, plus added heated seats on the leather option (I think there was ano
  10. Sorry, I meant that the electric folding mirrors were available in Europe, not the DAB. My mistake :D Can the folding mirrors be retro-fitted to UK models then? I suppose it's only a motor, a few wires and a couple of connections? Anyone know anymore technical info on this? Finis codes, feasiblity, etc.?? If it is possible, i'd like to know how to do it. Cheers
  11. My parents have recently had a 2.0 Zetec 3dr in Black. Looks the nuts - i'll try getting some pics on weekend. Anyone know of any issues with the white paint? i wouldn't thinkthere'd be much of a problem with white, but want to make sure.
  12. Thanks. Mike Sales says he has ordered an ST with keyless entry - any info??
  13. Hi 2 all, Anyone got the full optional extras list for the ST? OR add to the following if you know what's on offer Options for the ST3 Solar windshield Sunroof DEATC Touch DVD/SatNav (includes DEATC) Auto lamps/wipeers Blutooth kit Standard Bluetooth kit (Advance) Rearpark assist Front floor mats Heated driver's seat Cheers Would be helpful if you knew the prices too!
  14. First estate perhaps. South Wales police have * * * * loads of new Focuses! Most of them are silver, full of reflective stickers! No doubt they'll all be oil burners! Must have got a good deal from Ford. Anyone noticed the number of new Focuses on TV recently? In shows on ITV (dramas and the like). Ford are once again indoctrinating the public into "wanting to buy" a new Focus!!
  15. Apparently Bridgend Ford's (South Wales) demonstartor was going down the production line last weekend, due for delivery end October/early November. I'd expect there to be a batch of demonstrators built for UK dealers. Ask your dealer when theirs is due.
  16. Good find! Keep 'em coming!!
  17. Erm doesn't the new Focus have the same suspension as the Mk1 ? So if they wouldn't remove it from the first version why would they remove it from the Mk2 ? I'd doubt very much FOrd would develope a specific engine for the RS, certainly something that ford have never built before -straight 6 .... there was a rumour that the Jag might get something like it but I thought it was going to be diesel. Similar...obviously the geometry is slightly different. The main obstacle was the whole floorpan design (so i'm told) - they must have rectified this on the mk2 - can you imagine no 4WD availabilit
  18. The 3.0 lump is being built at Bridgend engine plant... I think it's specified in the V70/big top end Volvos. Two turbo variants will be available - a light and a high pressure version both using the 3.0 straight 6.
  19. Cheers for saving me the bother!!! Sorry for the "web speak" - I didn't have a clue what half of these abbreviations stood for when I started loafing car forums. Some others you'll see regularly are IIRC (if I recall correctly); and ROFLMAO (rolling on floor laughing my a*se off)!! Can save a hell of a lot of typing!
  20. The best thing you can do for a brand new modern engine is rev it hard from day one for at least the first 1000 miles. The engine loosens up better and you get a car that is much more responsive than it ordinarily would after it's done a few thousand miles.
  21. If you can, try and get some de-ionised water for your car's water systems - you can buy DI water for your battery topping up, but it's quite expensive. If you know somone who works in a factory, or even of a factory near where you live, where they have a DI water plant, ask them to provide ou with a few litres. DI water is pure water with all impurities removed. NOTE: this isn't the same as filtered water - DO NOT PUT DI IN YOUR KETTLE OR DRINK IT DIRECTLY -Di water, if consumed, will remove your body's minerals. You have been warned!!
  22. That's very nice indeed. Needs a set of mudflaps IMO
  23. Went to my dealer yesterday for ST3 prices. Anyway, he was telling me about plans for a 3.0, straight 6, tubocharged Focus to be called the RS. This guy is very well connected at Ford - he managed to source a GT for an associate of his (saw the pics of it at the dealership on his mobile - smart as * * * *) - so I believe what he's saying, and that his sources are correct also. Apparently there are a couple of 3.0 Focuses (n.b. plural of Focus is Focuses not Foci) on the road doing testing at present (they have been seen at the Bridgend engine plant). No mention of 4WD, but i guess with over 30
  24. Anyone know if the ST3 (leather) has leather clad door panels??? ps: stripes are definitely gay, unless you've got a GT!!
